    Indiana Online Sports Betting Overview

The state of Indiana (IN) now allows sports betting, not only for retail but also for online sports. Bettors at Hoosier State now have more options at their fingertips.

Almost all casinos in Indiana have their own sportsbooks, and the citizens of the state are just a few minutes away from placing their wagers on their favorite sporting event, but what tops it all is the availability of six different online sportsbooks offering online betting options to them. These options are open to residents of the state as well as visitors.

Every online sports betting site in Indiana gives the bettor a choice to place bets at home and while they are on the move using a mobile device of their choice and convenience on a sports betting app.

First-time players in Indiana are given either risk-free bets or deposit bonuses by most online sportsbooks, which the bettors should take advantage of when betting on sports.

Online sportsbooks have been functional in Indiana, and as of 2019, there have been many options available for placing a wager through a mobile device or a computer in the Hoosier State. The latest addition is ‘theScore Bet’ which was launched in September 2020. Other options for sports bettors are:

    4. BetMGM

    5. PointsBet

Indiana Online Sports Betting Casino Review

Start betting right now with the Indiana Online Sports Betting apps. The platform has been set up so that beginners or seasoned players can enjoy the excitement of a live experience from the comfort of their own home/surroundings.

Indiana sports betting was launched a number of days before the commencement of the 2019 NFL season. The mentioned early-September date was specifically for in-person retail sportsbooks at Indiana casinos, racinos, and off-track betting parlors.

The very firsts of the few Indiana sports betting apps began rolling out on October 3, along with BetRivers and DraftKings Sportsbook, denominating the online market. The former operated under the license of French Lick Resort, and DK leans on Ameristar East Chicago for admittance to the market.

Online sports betting in Indiana concocts more than eight out of every 10 bets that have been placed in the state.

Is it Safe to place Sports Bets in Indiana?

Indiana has been an early mover in providing licensing to the brick-and-mortar casinos.

In 1993, the current framework for riverboat and land-based casinos were established, along with racetracks and off-track betting offices. Before this, the state lottery was the only legal gambling choice for the citizens of Indiana, which began in 1976. But everything changed in 2019.

On April 25, the Indiana Legislature passed act H 1015, this bill allowed the casino to expand gambling and making sports betting legal, both live and online, Gov. Holcomb signed the bill on 8th May.

Act H 1015 provided holders of existing gambling license the right to open and start sportsbooks after Sept. 1. It also helped the casinos to set up a licensing framework for online sports betting apps.

Here are many ways in which the Indiana sports betting legislation is different from other states:

Low Tax: With the tax rate being at 9.5% of gross revenue being lower than in other states in the country, incentives have the extension to be more generous.

Exclusions: The bettors won’t be able to bet on esports contests in Indiana or bet on any sport where its bettors are younger than 18.

In-Play Betting: The Indiana Gaming Commission has additional powers to set limitations on in-play (live) betting and, if need be, to specify the data feeds used.

Who Can Bet? Bettors who are at least 21 years or older and within state lines will be allowed to place an online bet when sports betting goes live. Bettors aren’t required to be a resident of Indiana; they can be visitors as well.

Online casinos and poker games were not included in act H 2015. Conceivably, the successful implementation of online sports betting could subsequently establish these types of gambling.

Daily fantasy sports (DFS) sites were announced to be legalized in 2016, and bill S 335 was signed into law by then-Gov. Mike Pence.

In January 2020, Indiana became only the second state in the US (after New Jersey) to provide legal betting on the Academy Awards.

Indiana Online Sports Betting is completely legal and under the supervision of the Indiana Gaming Commission.

Indiana Online Sportsbooks Bonus and Rewards

Once the bettor nails down the process of placing a bet, they can maximize the benefits. Many great offers have been available, with a long list of compelling brand sportsbooks waiting to enter Indiana.

Offers from one of the best Indiana online sportsbooks can be divided into four broad types:

No Deposit or Free Bet Bonuses: Almost all state-regulated books will offer a small bet for mere registration. There is no reason why the bettors can’t take advantage of all of these offers. Bets in the $10-$25 range will need to be wagered on the lines of -200 or greater. These bets do have an expiration date. Bettors need to make sure to check for further wagering requirements on any wins, as these might change.

Sportsbook Deposit Bonuses: To embolden deposits,  it is expected that Indiana sportsbooks will offer a 100% matched bonus. These bonuses vary in size between $100-$1,000+. Bettors will need to play through their bonus money at least five times before they can withdraw it as a profit. Some books incentivize deposits in a different manner, for instance, offering a risk-free first bet where the bettor’s stake is returned as a bonus bet if the bettor’s selection loses.

Promotions: Standing promotions and one-off offers are available at online sportsbooks. These promotions comprise parlay insurance, overtime insurance, enhanced lines, boosts for big parlays, or reload bonuses issued on specific events. Picks-style contests and leaderboards are also available with these promotions.

Loyalty Reward Schemes: Attracting new bettors is only part of the challenge that the online casinos face. Indiana sportsbooks will need to keep the bettors to keep coming back. Loyalty schemes can be flat-rate or divided into tiers with bigger benefits for frequent and loyal bettors. Some online casinos will tie their online loyalty program into existing live casino reward schemes.

    Indiana Online Sports Betting Games

Indiana state-approved and fixed the below-mentioned sports types under the regulatory oversight of the Indiana Gaming Commission:

    1. Auto racing (NASCAR)

    2. Baseball (MLB, MLB Draft)

    3. Basketball (NBA, NBA Draft, NCAAB, WNBA, WNBA Draft)

    4. Bowling (Pro Bowling Tour)

    5. Boxing (IBF, WBA, WBC, WBO, ABCC)

    6. Cricket (WC, ICC)

    7. Darts (PDC)

    8. Football (NFL, NCAAF, NFL Draft)

    9. Golf (LPGA, PGA, and PGA Tour Champions)

    10. Hockey (NHL, NHL Draft, IIHF, HWC)

    11. Lacrosse (NCAA)

    12. MMA (UFC, Bellator MMA, PFL)

    13. Olympic Sports

    14. Rugby (World Cup, Six Nations, World Rugby Nations, Four Nations)

    15. Sailing (ISF, America's Cup)

    16. Soccer (FIFA events, MLS, UEFA, EUROPA Cup, Super Cup, EPL, La Liga, Bundesliga, Serie A, Ligue 1, Liga Bancomer)

    17. Softball (NCAA Div. 1)

    18. Tennis (USTA, ATP, WTA, ITF)

    19. Track and Field (International Athletics Association)

The figure of sports available at Indiana Online Sports Betting Casinos is greater than at DFS sites, including major leagues, collegiate sports, international events, and many more niche sports. Mentioned below are some of the other sports available with Indiana Online Sports Betting.

Major League Action: NFL, NBA, NHL, and MLB are the biggest enchantments for betting. The bettor will be able to bet on all the conferences and divisions. College and international leagues for example EuroLeague basketball are also available.

Soccer: The UK and European leagues, World Cup, MLS, and leagues from across the world are covered. The depth of coverage, for instance, the international minor leagues, varies between the books.

Major Individual Sports: The category includes golf and tennis, in which the majors receive significant coverage. A lot of minor tours have a following; boxing, MMA, and motorsports are popular too.

Niche Sports: Numerous sports that are relatively unknown domestically are popular in other places. These include cricket, the world’s second-most popular sport, rugby, and Australian Rules football.

There are some rules, regulations, and restrictions for bettors in Indiana. These include e-sports, which is pointedly mentioned in the latest bill. Sports with participants of age younger than 18 are also excluded.

Indiana Online Sports Betting Casino Rewards Program

A majority of leading sportsbooks in Indiana definitely offer a variety of VIP rewards for bettors. Some of the awards that the bettors may obtain are:

    1. Loyalty Store when you can claim prizes

    2. Comps at Partnering Casino

    3. FreePlay and Cash Redemption

    4. VIP Events

    5. Free Bets

The bettor will have access to special promotions, and top-level customer support as a VIP member basically treated like royalty.

    DraftKings Online Casino App

Downloading and registering for the Indiana Online Sports Betting app

Picking a sportsbook app is the first step to start betting. Links to download the desired app can always be found on the website provided by the sportsbook. (Alternatively, if the bettor does not want to download an app, the site itself will allow wagering without a download.)

But the most advantageous way to bet is via the app. The bettor needs to keep in mind that while they can download and register for an app from anywhere, they just won’t be able to place bets unless they are in Indiana.

    Sportsbook apps for iPhone

Most of the sportsbooks should eventually have an iOS app for downloading apps for iPhones and iPads. Bettors can find these in the App Store; a link should be provided on the sportsbook’s website.

Once bettors have downloaded the app, it will walk them through the registration process, which includes giving personal information such as the bettor’s name, address, and the last four digits of their Social Security number. The process will help verify that they are who they say they are and that the bettor is of legal age to bet in Indiana.

    Sportsbook apps for Android

The process and requirements for getting a sportsbook app on an Android device like a Samsung Galaxy are quite similar. The only major difference is that the apps do not appear in the Google Play Store. The bettor will have to download them directly from a sportsbook site. Bettors will have to allow or sanction their phone to download an app that is not in the store; this is safe to do for regulated sportsbooks in the US and Indiana.

Once the bettor has downloaded the app, the process will be the same for registration.

    Indiana Online Sportsbook Banking

The next step to get started after downloading and registering is to fund the bettor’s account. The options will differ as per the sportsbook, but the bettor often will encounter these methods, some of which are not yet available in Indiana.

    1. Online bank transfer

    2. PayPal

    3. PayNearMe

    4. Credit/debit cards

    5. Prepaid cards

While credit cards might seem to be the most convenient method for funding an account, many players might encounter issues trying to deposit with a credit card. Depending on the bank that works with the bettor’s credit card company, it might or might not facilitate or allow gambling transactions. Various other methods are usually more likely to work.

Withdrawal methods are preferably the same as depositing.

    Placing bets

Once the bettor has money in their sportsbook account, they will be able to bet. If the bettor is familiar with sports betting, it will usually be easy to find what the bettor wants to bet on. Apps are organized by sport, and the bettor will be able to see which games are upcoming or live now.

The common types of  bets include betting on the money line (who will win), betting a point spread, futures (who will win a division or championship), and proposition bets (will a certain player score more than 30 points in a game?)

Indiana sportsbooks also feature live in-play betting where they can bet on a game while it’s going on.

In order to bet, the player will need to have the location services turned on for their phone. The app will be able to geolocate the bettor to make sure they are in Indiana and not in another state where wagering might be illegal.

    Indiana Online Sportsbook Deposit Methods

The process can be started when the bettor logs into a personal sportsbook account under the "My Account" section (or a similar name such as "Cashier"). The bettor will likely find a deposit option. These icons are normally in the account menu or at the top of the website and app.

    1. Click on the "Deposit" icon.

    2. Choose a deposit option. The bettor may have to enter further information, such as for a credit card.

    3. After choosing an amount to deposit, follow any on-screen prompts to complete the transaction.

    4. Online deposits should reflect in the account almost instantaneously.

    Indiana Online Sportsbook Withdrawal Methods

Some sites will require bettors to withdraw using the same method they did to deposit, but if that is not the case, then the bettor must choose their withdrawal option:

    1. Look for the withdrawal option under the "My Account" or "Cashier" section of the sports betting site or app.

    2. Click the option to withdraw and enter the amount of money the bettor would like to extract from their account, then select the withdrawal method and click submit to begin the process.

    3. The bettor needs to wait for 24 to 48 hours for the funds to process.

    Indiana Online Sports Betting Partnerships

Partnerships are of the normal format, and instead of developing sports betting websites and apps from scratch, casinos team up with existing operators.

Consecutively, many big gambling companies, domestic and international, are keen to grow their brands as the states regulate gambling. The list includes many names that will already be familiar in Indiana, e.g., FanDuel.

Given below is a list of the partnerships developed in Indiana:

    1. Ameristar Casino Resort: DraftKings Sportsbook

    2. Belterra Casino Resort: FanDuel Sportsbook

    3. Blue Chip Casino: FanDuel Sportsbook
