<![CDATA[We all know that online casinos that offer daily login bonuses don’t do so because their hearts are made of Gold Coins. Sweepstakes casinos offer these bonuses to encourage players to log into their accounts every day. So, what does this effect have on your brain? Will you continue to play at sweepstakes casinos because you’ll be rewarded with Gold Coins and Sweepstakes Coins? Let’s find out. What Are Daily Login Bonuses? Daily login bonuses are bonuses that online casinos offer as a reward every day you log into your account. These bonuses generally refresh either every calendar day (at midnight) or every 24 hours. To claim a daily login bonus, you’ll need to log into your online casino account and manually claim the bonus. Sometimes casinos prompt you to claim this bonus when you log in; at other casinos, you may not be prompted. Either way, you need to manually claim the bonus by heading to your account wallet or the Gold Coin store. How Do Daily Login Bonuses Work? After you claim your bonus, your Gold Coins and Free Sweeps Coins will be added to your Unplayed balances. You’ll need to play Sweepstakes Coins at least 1x before they’re added to your Played or Redeemable balance. Once you’ve won a minimum number of Sweeps Coins, you can redeem them for prizes. How Daily Login Bonuses Keep You Coming Back Daily login bonuses encourage players to log into their accounts each day to claim the bonus. Because you need to manually log into your account to claim your Gold Coins and Free Sweeps Coins, you’ll need to visit the casino to get your rewards. Why Online Casinos Offer Daily Login Bonuses Online casinos offer these bonuses in the hopes that players will continue to log into their accounts each day, play games, and potentially make Gold Coin purchases. The more often you log into your account, the more likely you are to play games and potentially make Gold Coin purchases. [ra:167 c] Do Online Casinos Prompt You to Log In to Claim Daily Bonuses? No, you need to remember on your own to log into your casino account and manually claim these bonuses. Some players keep spreadsheets of sweepstakes casinos that offer daily login bonuses and set reminders to log into their casino accounts to claim their rewards. Do Daily Login Bonuses Train You Like Pavlov’s Dog?: The Verdict Technically, no. Since online casinos don’t prompt you to log into your account each day to claim your bonus, you won’t experience a Pavlovian response. Yet, players are more likely to log into their accounts each day because they are promised a reward for doing so. They may also be more likely to play their rewards coins and potentially make Gold Coin purchases, so it’s important to keep these habits in check and play responsibly.]]>

<![CDATA[Sweepstakes have been a staple of American culture for decades, providing an exciting opportunity for consumers to win big prizes while supporting their favorite brands. The history of sweepstakes in America dates back to the early days of mail-in contests, which companies used as a marketing tool to increase brand awareness and drive sales. Sweepstakes have evolved with the times; what was once a form of marketing has now turned into a multi-billion-dollar industry. Companies that once used sweepstakes to collect personal information and market their products are now more widely known for their sweepstakes than the products they intended to promote. We’ve also seen sweepstakes contests move online, prompting the rise of sweepstakes casinos, where players can spin the reels on slot machines and play live dealer games. Let’s look at how sweepstakes in America have evolved since their inception. History of Sweepstakes in America In the early 20th century, companies began using sweepstakes as a means to promote their products and services. These early sweepstakes were primarily conducted through mail-in contests, where consumers were required to send in a postcard or entry form to be entered into a drawing for a chance to win a prize. These contests were often tied to the purchase of a product or service, and the prizes were typically small, such as a free product or a discount coupon. As the popularity of sweepstakes grew, so did the size and value of the prizes. By the 1950s, sweepstakes had evolved into large-scale national contests offering substantial prizes, such as cars, trips, and cash. These sweepstakes were typically conducted by major corporations, such as Coca-Cola and Procter & Gamble, and were promoted through various forms of media, including television, radio, and print advertising. Some of the most popular sweepstakes games have included the McDonald’s Monopoly sweepstakes, Pepsi Play for a Billion, and the Nickelodeon Stocking Stuffer Giveaway. Of course, you can talk about sweepstakes without mentioning the popular Publishers Clearing House games, which we’ll cover in the next section. Magazine Marketing and Sales Sweepstakes games became wildly popular in the publishing industry when magazines began using these games as a way to market their publications. One of the most popular was the American Family Publishers (AFP) Sweepstakes. AFP was founded in 1977 and used sweepstakes to convince potential readers to sign up for magazine subscriptions. Popularity increased when the AFP hired Ed McMahon as its spokesperson. Although AFP went out of business in 1999, it’s still regarded as the operator of the most popular mail-in sweepstakes game in America. Other magazines began following suit, and soon both Reader's Digest and Publishers Clearing House offered similar sweepstakes to attract subscribers. Eventually, Ed McMahon also became the spokesperson for this popular sweepstakes game. In April 2025, Publishers Clearinghouse filed for Chapter 11 and announced it would no longer be paying out prizes for “lifetime winners”. ARB Interactive purchased Publishers Clearinghouse in July 2025, and the new owners announced they would continue running the popular sweepstakes games. Mail-In Sweepstakes Regulation Because mail-in sweepstakes games resembled gambling, U.S. federal and state governments stepped in to ensure that such contests were regulated to prevent unlawful gambling-related activities. One of the provisions stated that no purchase is necessary to play sweepstakes. There is also a minimum age requirement to participate in sweepstakes games. For McDonald’s sweepstakes, the minimum age to play is 13 years old. The Rise of Online Sweepstakes The rise of the internet and the advent of online sweepstakes in the 1990s marked a significant turning point in the history of sweepstakes in America. Online sweepstakes allowed companies to reach a much larger audience, and they also made it easier for consumers to enter and track their entries. With the ability to enter sweepstakes from anywhere in the world, online sweepstakes quickly became a popular form of entertainment and a way for consumers to win big prizes. Today, sweepstakes have evolved into a multi-billion-dollar industry, with thousands of sweepstakes offered by companies of all sizes. Online sweepstakes are now the most popular form of sweepstakes, with many companies reaching consumers and increasing engagement through social media and mobile apps. In addition, sweepstakes have become an important tool for companies to gather consumer data and insights and to build brand loyalty. Online Sweepstakes Challenges The rise of online sweepstakes has also led to increased sweepstakes fraud, which prompted government regulators to step in and impose stricter rules and regulations on the industry. In response, many companies have implemented measures to ensure the integrity of their sweepstakes, such as using third-party auditors to verify winners and publishing the official rules and regulations on their websites. Despite these challenges, sweepstakes continue to be a popular way for consumers to win big prizes and for companies to promote their products and services. The history and evolution of sweepstakes in America has been a fascinating journey, and sweepstakes will likely continue to be an important part of American culture for many years to come. Sweepstakes Cafes With online sweepstakes challenges so popular, it’s probably not surprising that other industries began to form around this industry. With the rise of the internet in the late 1990s and early 2000s, sweepstakes cafes began popping up. At these cafes, players could purchase a pass to use a computer and play online casino games. The owners of sweepstakes cafes claimed they weren’t operating illegal casinos; instead, they were selling a pass to use the internet. Yet, the law did not see eye to eye with these internet cafes, as sweepstakes laws dictate that no purchase is necessary to play. Many internet cafes shut down because they could not afford the legal fees, and most states banned or restricted sweepstakes cafes, calling them a front for illegal gambling activity. Sweepstakes Casinos: A New Form of Online Sweepstakes After the internet cafe debacle of the early 2000s, the sweepstakes industry evolved yet again. A new type of sweepstakes gaming industry started to take hold, one that learned from the mistakes of internet cafes and offered a product that required no purchase to participate. Enter: social casinos and sweepstakes casinos. How Sweepstakes Casinos Work: Same Concept, Different Model As the internet continued to evolve, so did sweepstakes games. Operating under U.S. sweepstakes laws, a new form of sweepstakes games became available. In 2012, High 5 Games, a developer of slot machines, launched the first social casino, featuring only 30 games. In 2019, Chumba Casino launched its own social casino, and more companies followed suit. At social casinos, players could purchase Gold Coins that they could exchange for slot machine spins. In January 2023, High 5 Casino updated its model to offer Sweepstakes Coins, which could be redeemed for cash prizes, once players had won a minimum number of them. High 5 also expanded its game library to offer more than 1,200 games, including variety games and live dealer games. The rules were the same: no purchase was necessary to play. You could obtain Free Sweeps Coins in a variety of ways, including through no-purchase bonuses, login bonuses, and mail-in requests (a throwback to the old days of mail-in sweepstakes). By early 2025, more than 40 sweepstakes casinos had launched. Although some of the branding varied, the concept was familiar. Players could sign up for an account, accept a no-purchase welcome bonus of Gold Coins and Free Sweeps Coins, and use coins to play online casino games. Of course, players could purchase more Gold Coins if they wanted to (often with a bonus of Free Sweeps Coins). Once they’d won the minimum threshold of Sweepstakes Coins, they could redeem SC for cash prizes or gift cards. How to Win Prizes at Sweepstakes Casinos Sweepstakes casinos offer two types of prizes, including cash prizes and gift cards. To win a prize, players must use Sweepstakes Coins to play casino games. Once playthrough requirements (the number of times Sweeps Coins must be played before they’re deemed redeemable) are cleared and players have won the minimum number of SC they need to initiate a redemption (anywhere from 10 SC to 100 SC), Sweepstakes Coins can be redeemed for cash prizes or gift cards, depending on the sweepstakes casino’s redemption policies. Players must also complete KYC verification checks to ensure they live in a state where the sweepstakes casino operates and are of legal age to play (all players must be at least 18 years old, and in some cases, they must be at least 21 years old to participate). Cash prizes are awarded by ACH transfer, instant banking transfer, debit card, or e-wallet. Prediction Sites: A Natural Evolution of Sweepstakes Casinos The online casino industry isn’t the only one benefiting from sweepstakes laws in the U.S. In addition to casino games, players can now make predictions on the outcomes of sporting events and pop culture events. Sports prediction sites like Sportzino, Kickr, Onyx Odds, and Punt allow players to predict the outcomes of sporting events (similar to moneyline, props, and parimutuel bets) using Gold Coins and Sweepstakes Coins. Sites like Sportzino also allow players to make predictions on current events, including celebrity makeups and breakups, and political elections. The coin system works the same for prediction sites as it does at sweepstakes casinos. Make predictions with Gold Coins to play just for fun, or with Sweepstakes Coins for the potential to redeem them for cash prizes or gift cards. You can purchase more Gold Coins if you run out, and you may even get a bonus of Free Sweeps Coins with your GC purchase. Conclusion Sweepstakes have been a part of American culture for decades, evolving from mail-in contests to the rise of online sweepstakes and sweepstakes casinos. What started as a marketing tool to increase brand awareness and drive sales has evolved into an entire multi-billion-dollar industry. The rise of online sweepstakes has made it easier for consumers to enter, track, and win big prizes, but it has also led to an increase in sweepstakes fraud, which is why government regulators have stepped in to impose stricter rules and regulations on the industry. Of course, sweepstakes casinos and prediction sites have also emerged, allowing entrants to play casino games or predict the outcomes of events for the chance to win cash prizes and gift cards. Despite challenges, sweepstakes continue to be a popular way for consumers to win big prizes and for companies to promote their products and services. And now the industry has expanded even further, as sweepstakes aren’t only offered to promote businesses but also as a form of entertainment in their own right. As the sweepstakes in the U.S. continue to evolve, we’re excited to see how this industry transforms the way Americans play these games to win big prizes. [ra:13 c]]]>

<![CDATA[We’ve seen a lot of celebrity sponsorships of sweepstakes casinos in the past few years. Household names like Ryan Seacrest, Paris Hilton, and Drake have entered sponsorship deals with sweepstakes casinos like Stake.us, WOW Vegas, and Chumba Casino. We’ve also seen a lot of sports franchises enter into partnerships with sweepstakes casinos, including Everton Football, the Davis Cup, and F1. But we have yet to see a sports franchise launch its own sweepstakes casino. How likely would it be to see a sports franchise launch a sweepstakes casino or social sports prediction site? Let’s look at a few reasons why such franchises might do so – and a few reasons why they’d be unlikely to. Current Sports Franchise & Casino Partnerships Many sports franchises have entered into partnerships with real-money casinos and sweepstakes casinos over the past few years. Here are some of the biggest sponsorship deals in the online casino industry right now: Stake F1 Team: Stake Everton Football: Stake Davis Cup: Stake FBC Melgar: Stake Enyimba Football: Stake Buffalo Bills: FanDuel Carolina Panthers: FanDuel Cleveland Browns: FanDuel Denver Broncos: FanDuel Indianapolis Colts: FanDuel Since so many sports teams and leagues have already entered into partnerships, we can determine that the sports industry sees the potential in partnering with online casinos, including real-money casinos and sweepstakes casinos. But do these partnerships suggest that sports franchises will make the foray into operating their own sweepstakes platforms? Let’s look at some of the reasons why sports franchises might launch their own sweepstakes casinos and a few reasons why they probably won’t. Reasons Why Sports Franchises Might Launch Their Own Sweepstakes Casinos Many Sports Franchises Already Partner With Casinos: Sporting franchises, such as the Buffalo Bills, Cleveland Browns, Denver Broncos, and Indianapolis Colts, already partner with FanDuel, which operates both a sportsbook and an online casino. Since these partnerships are clearly very lucrative to both FanDuel and the teams, sports franchises could, in turn, realize that there is money to be made in sweepstakes casinos, too. Sports & Sweepstakes Go Hand-in-Hand: Many sports franchises already partner with sweepstakes casinos, including Everton Football and Davis Cup (both partner with Stake.us). If sports teams believe that there is more money to be made (both with brand recognition and Many Casinos Sponsor Sports Teams: Online casino brands already sponsor sports teams, which means these behemoths understand the value in cross-promoting sports and gambling. But just because a casino brand might invest in sports doesn’t mean that a sporting franchise would invest in the launch of an online casino. Let’s look at a few reasons why sports franchises probably wouldn’t launch their own sweepstakes casino in the next section. Reasons Why Sports Franchises Might Steer Clear of Sweepstakes No Precedence for the Sports Industry Launching Sweepstakes Casinos: We can generally predict what sweepstakes casinos do based on what real-money casinos do first – not the other way around. Since we haven’t seen any sports franchise launch a real-money casino, we can safely assume that we probably won’t see one launch a sweepstakes casino, either. Most Sports Partnerships Are With Sportsbooks: Even though we’ve seen partnerships between sports franchises and casino brands, these sports teams are really partnering with the sportsbook side of the platform – not so much the casino side. We have yet to see a major partnership between a sports team and an online casino without ties to an online sportsbook. Could we potentially see one in the future? Possibly. Yet, without any precedence, we certainly cannot make any bold claims that suggest we will. Sports Teams May Focus On Sports: Yes, sports brands quite often cross-promote with other industries (apparel, food, alcohol, etc.), but these are simply marketing deals – not completely new areas of industry for sports teams. For the most part, sports teams focus on sports (though their marketing and PR departments might cross-promote across different industries). If a sports franchise were so bold as to launch its own sweepstakes casino, we’d be very surprised. Sweepstakes Casinos Aren’t Legal In Every State: The laws that govern sweepstakes casinos aren’t very cut and dry. Yes, we can verify that a sweepstakes casino is legit, but these sites aren’t licensed and regulated in the same way real-money casinos are in the U.S. It would be a bit risky for a sportsbook to launch a platform that could be banned in some states in the future. The Verdict: Will Sports Franchises Launch Their Own Sweepstakes Platforms? Since sports franchises have not even made the foray into launching real-money casinos, we doubt that we’ll see any of them launch a sweepstakes casino any time soon. If a sports franchise wanted to enter the world of online casinos, it would be more likely that a big brand name would try to launch a real-money casino, as there would be more opportunities for brand recognition and cross-promotion. While the sweepstakes casino industry is very lucrative, most sports franchises wouldn’t want to dilute their brands by investing directly in a platform that isn’t directly related to the sports industry. Whenever you're done finding out where your teams stack up, you'll be happy to know that instead of swearing your mouth off online, you can now blow off some steam at a sweepstakes casino *accepting players nationwide except WA & ID. Four of the nine metro areas with teams in each major league made the most vulgar list thanks to their MLB fans. Miami Marlins and Texas Rangers fans were the outliers, having been least likely to cuss about their team. N one of the most vulgar cities ranked due to posts about their local NBA team. Instead, the three metro areas whose basketball teams landed them on the “least vulgar” list were St. Paul/Minneapolis, New York, and Washington, D.C. Bad-Mouthed Baseball Fans Let’s get into specific leagues and their fan bases, starting with Major League Baseball. Below, we’ll discuss the most and least vulgar fan bases across the MLB. New York had two MLB team fan bases in the top five “most vulgar,” with Yankees and Mets fans often logging on to Reddit to express their frustration with NSFW language. Maybe it's due to both of those teams expecting to be among the top teams in the MLB according to oddsmakers at the most popular online sportsbooks. Seattle Mariners and San Diego Padres fans were also very expressive when discussing their team online. You may wonder if it’s because those two teams have never won a World Series, but neither have the Texas Rangers or the Colorado Rockies, and both those teams landed in the bottom three of our vulgarity ranking. The Mets and Mariners were neck-and-neck at the top of the list. There was a steeper drop-off from second place (Mariners) to third (Padres), and another between the Padres and the Phillies (in fourth place). After that, though, the numbers started to get a little closer, as there wasn’t much separating the Phillies’ fan base from the four teams that followed: Yankees, White Sox, Angels, and Braves. When the NBA Becomes NSFW Let’s head to the hardwood and take a look at the most obscene fan bases across the Association. Although it had less than half the profanity on its subreddit as the New York Mets, the most vulgar NBA fan base was that of the Phoenix Suns. Fans of the Miami Heat and Denver Nuggets were slightly less likely to use foul language to talk about their team, but their numbers were close. Charlotte found itself in last place on the vulgarity ranking for its Hornets fans, and the Golden State Warriors landed only slightly higher on the list. New York and Los Angeles have multiple NBA franchises, and all had different vulgarity levels. The New York Knicks ranked fourth, while the Nets came in tenth place. Out on the West Coast, the Los Angeles Lakers had the sixth-most vulgar fan base, and local Clippers fans also found themselves in the top half of the list at No. 12. Football Fans and Four-Letter Words With only 17 regular-season games per year, it’s easy for die-hard football fans to react strongly after each win and loss. Let’s take a look at the most vulgar NFL fan bases. By far, the Las Vegas Raiders fan base was the most vulgar among all NFL markets. They only just relocated to Sin City in 2020. Another team new to their market, the Los Angeles Rams, landed at the bottom by a significant margin. Around 200 million viewers tuned in on February 12th to watch the Kansas City Chiefs narrowly defeat the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl LVII. Maybe Philly’s loss in the big game is why their fan base found themselves ahead of the Chiefs on the vulgarity list. They may not have gotten a trophy or a ring for that athletic victory, but Eagles fans can at least be proud of this accomplishment. Looking ahead to this years' Super Bowl? Check out our best sportsbook promotions to be the Big Game. Did you mean to say “puck?” The tension doesn’t cool down just because the competition is on ice. NHL fans always take their games seriously, and as you’ll see below, some fans can get more heated than others. Once again, we start the conversation with the city of New York. Rangers hockey fans were the most vulgar when speaking about their NHL team online. Rounding out the top five were fans of the following teams: Edmonton Oilers Calgary Flames Colorado Avalanche Boston Bruins The Chicago Blackhawks occupied the bottom of the profanity ranking. They were pretty far behind San Jose, as Sharks fans have used over three times the profanity of Blackhawks supporters. In the middle of the list, three teams (Montreal Canadiens, Florida Panthers, and Seattle Kraken), ranked within less than one foul word of each other. Wrapping Up Some fan bases tend to be far more profane than others when discussing sports on Reddit. In certain situations, they may be responding to a close loss or a questionable call by the officials. In other scenarios, they may be expressing long-term frustration about their team’s mediocrity or how the league is changing the rules of the game. One thing’s for sure: You can head to your team’s subreddit to get in on the fan base action next time there’s a big win or controversial loss. Methodology To explore which teams have the most vulgar fan bases, we conducted a text analysis among comments in each team’s subreddit from the following leagues: MLB, NBA, NFL, and NHL. Comments were pulled from March 15, 2022, to March 15, 2023. About OddsSeeker OddsSeeker helps gamers win more cash when playing online games. <![CDATA[When has Hollywood ever not been a sucker for romance? And what's more romantic than a story about Sin City in all of its smoky, Strip-strutting, immoral glory where a down-on-their-luck underdog gets a second chance? Reality, however, can be much different from Hollywood portrayals of organized crime bosses patrolling smoky, anything-goes gaming floors full of no-limits tables where players hide card-counting devices beneath their slacks. Though doors were briefly shuttered during the COVID-19 pandemic and patrons took their time returning, casinos are once again pulling in near-record winnings from players after more than two years since the pandemic began. To shed light on how casinos truly operate, OddsSeeker looked into the history of casinos on film and identified 10 myths created in movies about gambling or going to casinos. Columbia Pictures No-Limits Tables In the regulated world of gambling, you would be hard-pressed to find a table that allows the player to bet as much money on a game as they wish. The reason why is summed up in one word risk. Casinos place limits on how much can be bet at a table to reduce the probability that one or a handful of players could get lucky and wipe out the entire business's profits ”or some considerable portion. Imagine how many casinos could withstand multiple payouts like the one James Bond receives in "Casino Royale" after winning a $115 million pot in a single hand. Want to play poker like James Bond from the comfort of your own home? You won't be able to play any multi-million dollar pots, but you can claim a free no-deposit bonus at Global Poker. Pre-pandemic, the Las Vegas Sands saw $2.7 billion in profit across its 10 casinos, according to filings with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. That's $270 million per casino on average in earnings before paying out shareholders. Universal Pictures Mafia Run Casinos Gambling has a long history of being associated with society's seedier personalities when it's portrayed in the media. While there is a history of organized crime bosses skimming profits from casinos in the middle of the 20th century, that is no longer the case. Casinos were brought out of the shadows and required to be transparent with their earnings in the 1960s by both private financiers as well as state and federal legislators. Howard Hughes is often credited as instrumental in this regard. Hughes, one of the richest individuals in the world during his lifetime, purchased several mafia-linked casinos on the Las Vegas Strip including the Desert Inn. While stiff penalties at the state level in places like Nevada keep players from acting illegally, the SEC ensures casino businesses stay on the straight and narrow. The federal agency is mostly known for keeping an eye on Wall Street and corporate executives. However, the SEC also oversees gambling businesses to ensure gaming "is conducted honestly, competitively and free of criminal and corruptive elements," according to its website. Warner Bros. Crowds Cheer You on at Your Table One of the best (and most underdeveloped) gags in National Lampoon's "Vegas Vacation" is when Clark Griswold's son Rusty obtains a fake ID and begins a dumb-luck winning streak that ends at the craps table while crowds egg him on. In reality, crowding around gaming tables makes protecting the integrity of the game much more difficult for casino managers. The World Series of Poker goes to great lengths in coordinating security personnel and surveillance mechanisms while still allowing spectators to get close to the game. Odds are, though, your two-game win streak isn't going to garner a whole lot of attention from other casino guests. Researchers have found that gamblers win about 13.5% of the time. Fear and Loathing LLC Anything Goes Thankfully for everyone, casinos are not exactly the no-holds-barred temple of debauchery depicted in some movies. Security isn't likely to look the other way while you stumble across a casino floor strung out on any manner of substances, muttering obscenities and demanding a high-end suite with a ripped cigarette hanging from your mouth like Raoul Duke in "Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas." Running a casino is a risky business seeing as the industry is heavily regulated. Casinos are periodically required to submit detailed financial reports to regulatory bodies, pay licensing fees and gaming taxes, and may even have their backgrounds checked. That means these casinos have a number of rules in place that security won't be shy about reinforcing in conversation. United Artists It Takes a Genius to Count Cards Counting cards is a practice often portrayed in films as illegal or immoral ”and something only the most beautiful minds are able to do. In the film "Rain Man," it's implied that Raymond's autism helps him and Charlie anticipate which cards are about to be played. When someone observing their table asks the pair of brothers their secret, Charlie jokingly replies, "cheating." In reality, the probability of a certain card being played by the dealer is a game of mental math that many enjoy. It's a reason people enjoy games like blackjack and a large part of the attractiveness of card games in general. Though challenging, it isn't illegal unless you try to use a machine or other counting device at the game table. One of the best parts of playing online is the ability to play for lower stakes, so you can practice your blackjack skills from home by playing live dealer games at Stake.us Casino. Universal Pictures Counting Cards Will Make You Rich Quick Perhaps one of the truer lines uttered by Robert De Niro's character in "Casino," casino manager Ace Rothstein, comes when he proclaims, "That's the truth about Las Vegas. We're the only winners. The players don't stand a chance." That extends to card counting, which while not against the law, is not looked kindly upon by pit bosses on the casino floor who know that it gives players capable of it a slight edge over their dealers. A casino is for fun and games, but at the end of the day, it's also a business with operating costs and stakeholders to be paid out. Some casinos may bar you from playing if they notice you are counting cards and gaining an edge on the dealer. Card counters beware ”that win streak at the blackjack table likely won't go unnoticed by the cameras. One of the best ways to lower the casinos edge and build you bankroll (that isn't frowned upon by Ace Rothstein or any other casino operators) is claiming multiple sweepstakes no-deposit bonuses. Universal Pictures Security Might Beat You Up You're not going to get dragged out into a field and beaten with a baseball bat like Joe Pesci's character in "Casino," but gambling businesses do take cheating seriously. According to the FBI, their private security forces are legally allowed to detain patrons they reasonably suspect are cheating at casino games or committing any other crime on the property and they don't have to Mirandize you either. Columbia Pictures Going to the Casino is a Black Tie Affair Bond films like "Casino Royale" perpetuate the myth that men stand around casino floors wearing suits and women walk around in cocktail dresses, but gone are those days. Today, most casinos have no such dress code. It's not abnormal to see patrons at a Las Vegas Strip casino playing poker in a bathing suit and cover-up or T-shirt and shorts. Just remember to check the dress code when visiting a specific nightclub or restaurant, as those tend to have different requirements. And if they do require a dress code, one of the best parts of playing from home at the best sweepstakes casinos is the ability to wear whatever you please. Warner Bros. You Can Fool the Surveillance System If you're considering going full "Ocean's Eleven" this weekend at the Bellagio, the Mirage, and the MGM Grand casinos all while fooling the "eye in the sky," you might want to pause and think again. Casinos are good at surveillance and invest in it because they have to. Gambling is closely scrutinized just about anywhere it is legal, and casinos in the U.S. are keen to move past the image organized crime syndicates of the 1950s unfortunately emblazoned on the industry. It's not just the cameras. Casinos employ physical security staff that must understand the complexities of games and be able to spot cheating. And real money online casinos use complex algorithms to ensure everything is above board. Universal Pictures It's Full of Smoke In Paul Thomas Anderson's beloved indie flick "Hard Eight," the late Philip Seymour Hoffman taunts Phillip Baker Hall from across the craps table while lighting a cigarette, but those days may be waning. The Park MGM casino became the first in Las Vegas to be completely smoke-free in 2020. Aside from that, casinos in Nevada do get an exemption from anti-smoking laws. Casino employees in multiple states have been behind a recent push to get smoking outlawed in their workplaces, arguing the enhanced ventilation many casinos offer isn't enough to protect them. <![CDATA[Blockchain technology is revolutionizing industries from finance to entertainment. Is it any surprise that online casinos are now using this technology to increase player trust and secure vital information? Even though most sweepstakes casinos have yet to utilize blockchain technology, a few brands have integrated it into their platforms via cryptocurrency payments and redemptions. Let’s look at how blockchain technology could increase player trust in sweepstakes casinos, from payments to player data and game results. 4 Ways Blockchain Could Increase Sweepstakes Casino Player Trust Here are the top four ways sweepstakes casinos could utilize blockchain technology to increase player trust and enhance security. 1. Secure & Reliable Crypto Payments Blockchain-based sweepstakes casinos would need to utilize cryptocurrency payments and redemptions. Currently at sweepstakes casinos, your payment information is stored on the platform. This makes it convenient for players who don’t want to enter their bank details each time they make a transaction; however, your banking information could be intercepted if there’s a data breach. With Crypto payments and redemptions, you simply enter your crypto information manually each time you make a Gold Coin purchase or Sweepstakes Coin redemption. Your payments and redemptions are fast and secure, as crypto redemptions are often processed immediately. 2. Less Chance of Cybersecurity Threats Your payment information is generally stored on sweepstakes casino websites, but that’s not all: sweepstakes casinos also collect other player data, such as phone numbers, mailing addresses, emails, and birthdates. All of this information could be compromised in the event of a security breach. With blockchain technology, your information is more secure. Blockchain technology is decentralized, meaning that data is stored in different blocks, and there’s less chance of your personal data being compromised. 3. Faster Redemptions Sweepstakes casinos often manually approve redemptions before they’re processed. With blockchain technology, redemptions can be processed immediately in most cases – something that crypto sweepstakes casinos are already doing. For example, Stake.us, which uses crypto payments and redemptions, processes redemptions immediately. You simply enter your crypto details, and you can receive your funds instantly after the transaction has been processed. This is because Stake does not need to manually approve redemptions. If more sweepstakes casinos embraced blockchain technology, they could increase player experience and retention. 4. Transparent Game Outcomes Since all blockchain transactions are recorded on decentralized ledgers, players can feel confident that the outcomes of games are fair and truly determined by algorithms, including RTPs and RNGs. Potential Downsides to Sweeepstakes Casinos Using Blockchain Of course, not everyone is ready for blockchain technology. The biggest potential downside to sweepstakes casinos using blockchain technology is that all players would need to use cryptocurrency for payments and redemptions – something that not every player has access to. Yet, as players become increasingly more conscious about the storing of their data and payment methods, they might be willing to dip a toe into cryptocurrency waters to gain a little more control over their data. Will we see more and more sweepstakes casinos utilizing blockchain technology to increase player trust? The answer is a resounding yes – it just might take some time for them to incorporate it into their platforms. [ra:163 c]]]>

<![CDATA[In the past few years, Americans have begun to rely on AI technology more and more. It’s no surprise, seeing that AI can streamline our lives, saving us time and opening up a world of knowledge that we wouldn’t have been able to access. It should come as no surprise that AI is starting to make its way into the online casino industry in the form of AI-generated live dealer games. But who will be the first to offer this technology, real-money casinos or sweepstakes casinos? Let’s take a look at some of the benefits and potential downsides of sweepstakes casinos using AI dealer games and determine which model will start using AI first. Benefits of AI Dealers at Sweepstakes Casinos Let’s look at some of the benefits sweepstakes casinos and players can reap from AI-driven live dealer games. These benefits can lead to increased sweepstakes casino profits and better player experience. More Live Dealer Gaming Options Online casinos spend a lot of money hiring live dealers to run games, and all platforms have budgetary restrictions. If AI replaces live dealers, sweepstakes casinos could potentially expand their game portfolios because they would simply purchase the licenses for the games – instead of hiring live dealers to operate each room. Developers could potentially create even more live dealer game options, including harder-to-find games like live game shows, Sic Bo, Teen Patti, and more. Greater Variety of 24/7 Live Dealer Games Again, online casinos can only hire so many dealers to run live games. This is why some sweepstakes casinos don’t run live dealer games 24/7. If AI operates these games, there could be more opportunities for late-night or early-morning live dealer games. Realistic Dealers AI technology has advanced exponentially in the past few years. AI likenesses of humans look more and more realistic. It’s possible that many players won’t even be able to tell the difference between an AI-generated live dealer and a human live dealer in the future. If you can’t tell the difference between the two, would you even care if the dealer wasn’t a human and simply a likeness of one? Since many live dealer games are already filmed in front of green screens, some games already don’t look realistic. Using an AI rendering of a dealer in a casino could actually seem more realistic to players than a dealer filmed in front of a green screen. Better Player Experience From what we’ve seen from AI already, we know that this technology can offer better customer experience than its human counterparts can. AI live dealers could potentially take this further by offering even better player experience. Just some of the player experience benefits that AI developers have touted so far include fewer dealer errors, the ability to multitask (deal cards while chatting with players), and understanding player preferences. Since AI doesn’t get tired or have “bad days”, it could potentially be better at entertaining players, too. Less Chance of Human Error One of the biggest potential benefits of AI live dealer games at sweepstakes casinos is that AI is simply more reliable than humans with some tasks. Human dealers are, well, human! And all humans make mistakes. AI live dealers are less likely to make mistakes. This can benefit both sweepstakes casinos and players, as errors can cost sweepstakes casinos money and players' rightful wins. Downsides of AI Dealers at Sweepstakes Casinos Of course, there are some potential downsides to AI dealers. Here are some of the reasons why sweepstakes casinos might wait to purchase live dealer games featuring AI dealers. Live Dealers May Not Be Realistic The whole point of playing live dealer games is to feel like you’re playing table games in a casino, from the comfort of your own home (or wherever you can bring your smartphone). If sweepstakes casinos take a chance and invest in AI-driven live dealer games, these games will have to feature AI that looks as realistic (or even more realistic) than human dealers. Right now, we don’t know what this technology will look like, so there’s no way to predict if players will enjoy AI live dealer games. My prediction is that casinos will probably start slowly integrating AI dealer games into their libraries to see how they perform before switching out all of the games in this category. Potential Streaming Issues or Low Page Speeds One downside to AI-powered technology overall is that it takes a lot of server space. While sweepstakes casinos may save money on human-powered live dealer games, they’ll need to pay a significant amount of money to gain access to AI-powered live dealer games simply because they’ll need more servers to keep games running smoothly. Some Players Might Not Trust AI Dealers If sweepstakes casinos are transparent about which live dealer games are powered by AI and which are powered by human dealers, some players might simply feel apprehensive about whether the former is as trustworthy as the latter. A lot of people simply don’t trust AI completely, and players might be put off by the idea of an AI dealer versus a human one. Sweepstakes casinos will also need to invest in marketing to ease players’ minds about the validity and fairness of AI-powered live dealer games. Who Will Offer AI Live Dealer Games First – Sweepstakes Casinos or Real Money Casinos? Since sweepstakes casinos often wait for real-money online casinos to launch games and features and wait to see how they play out, I predict that real-money casinos could be the first to launch AI live dealer games. Yet, real-money online casinos also pride themselves on offering high-end experiences in the hopes that players will spend more money. These casinos may not see AI live dealer games as an investment but as a distraction from their carefully crafted brand identities. If this is the case, we may see sweepstakes casinos launch AI live dealer games before the real-money casinos make the switch. Right now, it’s too soon to tell which casino model will be the first to dip their toes into the world of cutting-edge AI, but we can’t wait to see how this technology enhances player experience in the future. <![CDATA[The rise of streamers has changed the way we look at iGaming in the past decade. What started with video gamers streaming their gameplay on YouTube has morphed into sweepstakes casino players streaming their wins (and losses) on TikTok, Twitch, and Kick. Let’s look at the progression of iGaming streamers, how streamers are revolutionizing the sweepstakes gaming industry, and some of the hottest influencers on social media. From Video Game to Sweepstakes Streamers: a Natural Progression Many streamers focusing on sweepstakes casino content started out in the video game stratosphere. You’ll find that a lot of the most popular sweepstakes streamers still offer this content, where you can see them play popular video games like Call of Duty, Fortnite, and Among Us. Since sweepstakes casinos are so closely linked to the video game industry, it’s no surprise that streamers (who are at least 18 to 21 years old) have made the transition into iCasino gaming too. Most Popular Types of Content for Sweepstakes Streamers Most streamers in this space record their gameplay on sweepstakes casinos and upload it to their accounts across platforms. Many streamers specialize in certain types of games or plays. For example, Roshtein, a streamer on Kick and Twitch, focuses on Hacksaw Gaming. Any players who want to see a new Hacksaw game in action can check out new titles on Roshtein’s channels. Some streamers only specialize in large plays (80 SC to 100 SC per play), showing viewers which games are worth a higher number of Sweeps Coins. Of course, there are a handful of women streamers who cater to female-oriented gaming, as most of the sweepstakes streamers are men. How Streamers Make Money on Sweepstakes Content Streamers now have brand deals with different sweepstakes casinos, and you’ll even see streamers on sweepstakes casino websites like Stake.us (but more on that later!). Since most streamers don’t usually start out with brand deals, they often make money directly from the platforms themselves. They are paid per view by TikTok or get a cut of ad revenue for ads that are shown on their YouTube pages. Of course, these streamers need to disclaim when their content is sponsored by a sweepstakes casino, so you always know if they’re making money directly from the source (or if they’re simply making revenue from the streaming platform). Sweepstakes Casino Influencers to Watch If you’re new to the idea of sweepstakes casino influencers, we’ve generated a list of some of the biggest names in streaming. Here are the sweepstakes casino influencers to keep an eye on, streaming on the three biggest platforms, including Twitch, TikTok, and YouTube. Sweepstakes Casino Influencers on Twitch Xposed: This sweepstakes casino and real-money casino influencer boasts a whopping 1.5 million followers overall, with 533,000 of his followers coming from Twitch alone (the rest come from X and YouTube). Xposed specializes in video slots and table games, featuring table game technique streaming and giveaways. Roshtein: One of the biggest names in iCasino streaming is Roshtein, who boasts more than 1.2 million followers across Kick, X, Twitch, and YouTube. He has over 1 million followers on Twitch alone. He specializes in roulette and video slots (particularly in Hacksaw Gaming slots). LosPollosTV: Another big Twitch sweepstakes casinos streamer is LosPollosTV, who has more than 800,000 followers altogether, with the majority of subscribers following on Twitch, where he has 779,000 followers. Los PollosTV specializes in video slots and crypto casino (which is major right now, as he’s one of the few streamers to specialize in this game category). Other streams include YouTube, Instagram, and Kick. Sweepstakes Casino Influencers on TikTok Adin Ross: Possibly one of the biggest sweepstakes casino celebrity streamers is Adin Ross, who boasts more than 13 million followers overall. He generated more than 6.3 million followers on TikTok alone. Ross specializes in table games, including roulette, blackjack, and poker, as well as video slots. Ross has hung with celebrities such as Kareem Abdul Jabbar, Drake, and David Ortiz. TheBigJackpot: Another big name on TikTok is TheBigJackpot, which has just under 2 million followers overall, with nearly 300,000 of its followers coming from TikTok. Otherwise known as Raja, this account specializes in classic sweepstakes casino games, including video slots, jackpot slots, and video poker. Lady Luck HQ: With more than 1.4 million followers across platforms, Lady Luck HQ is one of the heaviest hitters in sweepstakes streaming. On TikTok alone, she boasts nearly 200,000 followers. Other platforms where she posts include YouTube and Facebook. Lady Luck specializes in slots, including jackpot slots and hold & link slots. Sweepstakes Casino Influencers on YouTube Brian Christopher Slots: One of the most famous sweepstakes casino influencers is, hands down, Brian Christopher, who boasts 1.5 million followers. On YouTube alone, Christopher has almost 1 million followers, but also posts on Facebook and X, specializing in jackpot slots. xQc Gambling: Although this account has more than 14 million subscribers overall, xQc Gambling only gets about 16,600 of its followers from YouTube (though that’s nothing to dismiss). Check in here if you want info on slots, including jackpot slots. VegasLowRoller: One of the few sweepstakes casino streamers to specialize in minimum slot machine plays is VegasLowRoller, who has more than 424,000 followers, including 410,000 followers on YouTube and 14,000 followers on Instagram. How Sweepstakes Casinos are Partnering With Streamers Now that streamers have become a big part of sweepstakes casino marketing, it’s no surprise that you can find many of these influencers on sweepstakes casinos like Stake.us. Stake partners with some of the biggest streamers and influencers to offer lives directly on the sweepstakes casino platform. These partnerships are a win/win for both parties. Sweepstakes casinos see a jump in website traffic and revenue, while streamers also reach a larger audience. <![CDATA[Now that sweepstakes casinos are becoming as widely known as real-money casinos, it’s no surprise that they’ve garnered the attention of big celebrities. We’ve seen celebrity endorsements of real-money casinos for years. Jamie Fox and Vanessa Hudgens are featured all over the BetMGM online casino and sportsbook, and DraftKings hired Kevin Hart for a 2025 commercial. Since sweepstakes casinos are now big players in the online gaming sphere, we’re bound to see more and more celebrity endorsements. Let’s take a look at the progression of sweeps casino celebrity endorsements and the celebs who have already signed major deals with the most popular sites. The Natural Progression of the Era of Celebrity-Endorsed Sweepstakes Casinos Sweepstakes casinos aren’t the first gaming apps to receive celebrity endorsements. For the past few years, we’ve seen celebrities featured in ads for gaming apps like Royal Kingdom and Dice Dreams. Samuel L. Jackson has starred in commercials for Dice Dreams, and Royal Kingdom ads have featured celebrities like LeBron James and Jimmy Kimmel. Celebrity-endorsed sweepstakes casinos are just the natural progression of celebrities endorsing gaming apps and websites. 5 Celebrity-Endorsed Sweepstakes Casinos and Social Casinos So, which sweepstakes casinos and social casinos are paying top dollar for the biggest celebrity endorsements? Here are five of the most popular celebrity-endorsed sweepstakes casinos and social casinos out there. 1. Stake.us The first sweepstakes casino to receive a celebrity endorsement was Stake.us. Drake has been a sponsor of this sweepstakes casino for years and even has his own page on the Stake website. The popular rapper does a livestream giveaway on the Stake.us site. Stake.us also partners with the following organizations: UFC Alfa Romeo F1 Everton FC Enyimba FC FBC Melgar Esporte Clube Juventude David Cup 2. WOW Vegas One of the biggest sweepstakes casino celebrity endorsements was landed by WOW Vegas. In 2024, the popular slot-based sweepstakes casino partnered with Paris Hilton. You’ll see Hilton all over the WOW Vegas website – from the header banners to the games to the promotions for existing players. One of WOW Vegas’s most popular promotions is Paris’ Lucky 6. When you spin the reels of at least one slot machine during the promotion period, you’ll be entered in a drawing to potentially win a share of the 10,000 SC pot each week. Celebrities like Hilton endorsing sweepstakes casinos are an indicator that more and more women are starting to play at sweepstakes and social casinos in the U.S. 3. Global Poker Popular social casino operator VGW has also been partnering with celebrities. In 2024, the VGW brand Global Poker partnered with Olympic medalist Michael Phelps. Phelps is now featured in Global Poker’s marketing materials across the platform. You’ll also see the famed swimmer promoting tournaments and challenges at Global Poker. He was also featured in the 2023 Global Poker Celebrity Challenge, where he competed against other celebrities in poker tournaments. The 2023 challenge featured other celebrities like Paul George, Karl-Anthony Towns, and DJ Khaled. 4. Chumba Casino Michael Phelps wasn’t VGW's first (or biggest) celebrity endorsement. In fact, the first big celebrity brand deal the platform launched was with Ryan Seacrest for Chumba Casino in 2023. Since December 2023, everyone’s favorite game show host and celebrity personality, Ryan Seacrest, has been a spokesperson for the popular social casino. Seacrest has appeared in ads for Chumba Casino across the internet – though, unlike other sweepstakes and social casino celebrity spokespeople, he isn’t featured on the Chumba website. This is a pretty big deviation from other celebrity endorsements on this list, as all the other celebs aren’t simply featured in ads for the sites; their presence can be found all over the platforms, from promotions to live streams. 5. PlayFame Sweepstakes casinos have also been tapping influencers to help sell their brands. Such is the case with the popular sweeps site PlayFame, which has hired ASMR influencer Amouranth as a celebrity spokesperson. Amarouth rose to fame on Twitch with her ASMR and adult videos. She’s now a brand ambassador of PlayFame, which is known for its library of more than 1,200 slot games and live dealer games. Other Types of Sweepstakes Casino Celebrity Endorsements Some celebrities have also been endorsing sweepstakes casinos without becoming “the face” of the platforms. Open Instagram or TikTok, and you’ll see ads for sweepstakes casinos, featuring your favorite celebrities. You may also see some celebrities using their social media platforms for paid posts for sweepstakes casinos. Since these types of endorsements are considered more “organic” than traditional commercials, we can expect to see more of these in the future. Criticism of Casino Celebrity Endorsements Of course, not everyone is thrilled that celebrities are lending their likenesses to the online casino industry. There’s been some pretty fair criticism of this trend over the years. One point is that celebrities could influence underage players to sign up (Vanessa Hudgens is 36 years old, yet she still appeals to a relatively younger demographic). It’s important to note that online casinos and sweepstakes casinos have safeguards to prevent underage gambling, yet underage players might be influenced to sign up when they reach the legal age to play. Another criticism is that so much gambling-related content and advertising could cause an uptick in gambling addiction or negatively impact people already suffering from gambling addiction. These are all similar criticisms that celebrity endorsements in the alcohol industry face. The Verdict: Are We Entering the Era of Celebrity-Endorsed Sweepstakes Casinos? Yes, it appears sweepstakes casinos and celebrity endorsements are now inextricably linked. Since the sweepstakes casino industry is slated to bring in $1 billion in 2025, this should come as no surprise. As more and more sweepstakes casinos try to widen the net on their demographic profile, bringing in new players from across the web, we’re sure to see more celebrity endorsements on the way. <![CDATA[Every gambler remembers that first good win – when they won a good chunk of change on a slot machine or correctly predicted the odds of an underdog winning. In fact, first wins can shape your playing habits for years to come. Let’s look at some of the positive ways that wins shape your betting habits and a few of the negative habits you’ll want to avoid after that first sweet taste of victory. Positive Ways First Wins Shape Your Playing Habits First wins can lead to some positive playing habits. There’s a bit of information you can garner from your first win, and learning what you did right (or wrong in the past) can help you become a better gambler. You May Learn From Past Mistakes When you win, you’re more likely to see what you’ve done wrong in the past because you have something to compare past bets to. Smart bettors understand that betting is often a combination of skill and luck. While there is some skill to betting (especially sports betting), you need a lot of luck – especially with chance-based bets, such as slots and roulette. Yet, it’s always important to learn from your past mistakes, which you can do when studying your wins. Try to determine what types of games you win most. If you play games that require some strategy, such as poker or baccarat, try to figure out what hasn’t worked in the past and compare these findings with the strategy you employed when you got your first win. You Could Refine Your Strategy Once you’ve determined what hasn’t worked in the past, you can try to figure out what worked when you won. What type of game did you play? Did you do any research to determine the best winning strategy? If you won playing a purely luck-based game like slots, try to determine if there were any underlying factors at play. What was the slot’s RTP? Were there any special features that helped you win? Did you buy a feature? At the end of the day, you may not want to dig too deep into the factors behind chance-based games, as you cannot control the outcomes of these types of games. Negative Ways First Wins Shape Your Playing Habits Some players also take on negative habits after their first wins. Here are some of the drawbacks you might experience after that first taste of victory at the betting window or online casino. You’re More Likely to Continue to Gamble Studies show that players are more likely to continue to gamble after they’ve won. Factors that keep winning gamblers playing include chasing wins, believing you are playing with “house money”, and chasing the dopamine rush of winning. No matter whether you won betting on a sporting event or on a hand of poker, you’re simply more likely to continue playing once you’ve scored your first big win. Even if you set aside your winnings as “future betting” funds, you may be more likely to continue to play long after your funds are exhausted. Future Bets Might Not Be as Sweet Once you’ve won once, you’re more likely to start chasing wins – or betting expecting to win because you felt that sweet satisfaction. If a slot machine spin doesn’t result in that same crescendo of bells and whistles, you’re not going to get the dopamine hit that made your winning play so enticing. Before you experienced your first win, you probably continued to play with very little expectation. Once you’ve experienced your first win, plays that don’t result in wins aren’t going to be as enjoyable anymore. There is a sense of diminishing returns in gambling, where you’re going to feel less and less satisfied if future plays aren’t as exciting as that first win. You Could Suffer From the Illusion of Control Some players believe that their wins were determined by their own sheer skill. Unfortunately, gambling always requires a bit of luck, meaning there are no “sure” outcomes. Even with skill-based gambling, such as sports betting or poker, luck is always a factor. You cannot predict a player getting injured mid-game, and you can’t predict which cards you’re dealt. Many players also have the illusion of control with luck-based games like slots or roulette. They believe they somehow know what colors or numbers to bet on. Obviously, no one can predict where a roulette ball will fall. The idea that a player can accurately determine the outcome of a round of roulette is merely an illusion. You Might Believe More Wins Are on the Way Many players believe after their first win that they’re on a hot streak, so more wins are sure to follow. Again, this is simply an illusion. Just because you won once doesn’t mean that you’re due another win, just as you’re not due a win after a big losing streak. This is why it’s important to be cautious after your first win. You don’t want to suddenly start seeing patterns where patterns don’t exist and start betting money that you don’t have or aren’t willing to lose. Instead, use data-driven strategies, such as researching which team is more likely to win a sporting event, analyzing game RTPs, and learning poker strategies to improve your chances of winning in the future. Your Gambling Might Become Problematic Gamblers experience a chemical rush after their first wins. After a win, your brain releases feel-good chemicals that make you want to gamble more. Not only will you win money, but you’ll also get a bit of a serotonin boost that you’re hard-wired to want to chase. If you find yourself gambling more and more because you want that sweet excitement of winning, you may want to take a break. Research shows that gamblers are more likely to exhibit signs of problem gambling after big wins (for all the reasons listed above). If you feel as though you’re gambling more than you can afford to lose, it’s important to seek help. [ra:147 c]]]>

<![CDATA[It’s probably no surprise that certain age demographics are naturally drawn to some types of sweepstakes casino games. But how exactly does age influence the type of sweepstakes games you play? Let’s take a look at how different generations choose sweepstakes casino games and which games are most likely to be chosen by players in each age group. Sweepstakes Game Popularity By Age Which generation prefers sweepstakes casinos over real-money casinos? Which one can you find in live dealer rooms or spinning the reels? Here is a generation-by-generation breakdown of sweepstakes game popularity. Baby Boomers (61 to 79 Years Old) Baby Boomers are the generation that is least likely to play at sweepstakes casinos. In fact, most Baby Boomers don’t play at online casinos at all – never mind sweepstakes casinos. Instead, they prefer to do things the old-fashioned way and head to land-based casinos. Since Baby Boomers are drawn to comfort and predictability, they don’t necessarily need the flashiness of the new video slots that prompt players to make choices beyond spinning the reels. Instead, they gravitate toward the old-school games, such as classic slot machines, table games, and bingo. Gen X (45 to 60 Years Old) Gen X was the first generation to get their hands on the internet while they were still in high school, so they are more likely to play at sweepstakes casinos than Baby Boomers. Still, only a little over 50% of Gen Xers play casino games on their mobile devices (across real-money casinos and sweepstakes casinos), so there’s a good chance that they’re not playing that much at the latter. If Gen Xers play at sweepstakes casinos, they gravitate toward strategy-based casino games like poker and sports predictions. They may try a hand at slots every now and then, but generally opt for nostalgic games like The Goonies or The Godfather. Millennials (29 to 44 Years Old) Millennials are the first generation to really sink their teeth into sweepstakes casinos and social casinos. Since they first got access to the internet back in middle school, they’re more likely to engage in different social media platforms than their Gen X counterparts. This group of sweepstakes casino players gravitates toward some flashier games and some old-school games. They’re just as likely to play computer-based table games as they are live dealer games. They can also be found in sweepstakes casino poker rooms or playing live game shows. Millennials also love sports prediction sites, as they’re very big into Daily Fantasy Sports. Gen Z (18 to 28 Years Old) Gen Z is the generation that you’re most likely to find playing at sweepstakes casinos. This group tends to lean toward flashier games with good graphics and unbeatable soundtracks. Since Gen Z grew up playing some of the most groundbreaking video games, they crave high-quality sweepstakes casino games. They tire quickly of the same-old spinning of the reels, so they’re more likely to opt for slot machines with lots of features and bonus options. Gen Z is also more likely to play live dealer games, live game shows, and other games that have a social aspect, as they were practically raised on social media. [ra:83 c]]]>

<![CDATA[There are times in our lives when we feel luckier than others. On anniversaries, when our team wins the playoffs, and on our birthdays. It’s simply easier to feel lucky when things are going our way. But do casino players feel so much luckier on their birthdays that they’re more likely to gamble? The answer is a resounding yes. Let’s look at a few reasons why players feel luckier on their birthdays, debunk the bogus reasons, and talk about one valid one. Why Players Feel Luckier on Their Birthdays There are several reasons why players feel luckier on their birthdays, including superstition, cognitive bias, and mood-boosting brain chemicals. Let’s talk about why you may not be luckier on your birthday in the ways you might assume, and one way you can take agency and control your own luck on your special day. Superstition Superstition is the biggest reason that players feel luckier on their birthdays. Most players have lucky numbers (including birthdays) or lucky objects that they play with to enhance their chances of winning. Of course, these players will always feel luckier on their birthdays. Some players even take things to the next level by checking the best times to play at casinos, based on astrology. While they might not find that their birthday is the optimal time to play and win, they still believe that some days or months may be luckier than others, based on the stars. Cognitive Bias Most of us believe that we have some control over uncontrollable events. If we win a hand of poker, we believe that we somehow cosmically deserved that win; similarly, we might often lambast ourselves for unlucky events, too. This phenomenon is called illusory control. We all want to believe that we have more control over the events of our lives than we do; however, there are some outcomes that we cannot predict or change – like winning games determined by random number generators, such as slots. But if playing strategy-based casino games on your birthday gives you a boost, go ahead and play them. Just make sure you don’t bet more than you can afford to lose. [ra:154 c] Brain Chemistry We get a lot of positive attention on our birthdays. We’re showered with gifts, friends we haven’t spoken to in months might reach out to wish us a happy birthday, and even large corporations send us free stuff or bonuses on our birthdays (but more on that later!). When we’re in a good mood, our feel-good brain chemicals surge. And when that happens, we’re more likely to feel like we’re already on a winning streak, so why not pump a twenty-dollar bill into a slot machine? Birthday Bonuses There is one valid reason why players might feel luckier on their birthdays: casino birthday bonuses! Many online casinos and land-based casinos offer special bonuses on players’ birthdays. You generally need to be enrolled in the casino’s VIP program to take advantage of these bonuses (and top-tier players always get better rewards), yet birthday bonuses can be found at a lot of real-money and sweepstakes casinos. Here is a list of real-money casinos that offer birthday bonuses to VIP members: BetMGM Caesars Palace BetRivers Casino Golden Nugget Borgata PlayStar Here is a list of sweepstakes casinos that offer birthday bonuses to some rewards members: American Luck Stake.us SweepSlots Modo.us WOW Vegas McLuck Casino Crown Coins Casino ]]>

<![CDATA[Live dealer games launched in 2017, and since then, they’ve taken over the internet by storm. The popularity of live dealer games continues to grow as technology develops and more games are made available. There are plenty of benefits to playing live dealer games. Players love the realistic feel they offer, and the ability to play against others as well as the dealer. But do players actually feel more in control with live dealer games than they do with traditional table games? To answer that question, we first need to understand how live dealer games differ from other online casino games. How Live Dealer Games Are Different From Other Online Casino Games The main reason live dealer games differ from traditional table games is that game results aren’t determined by an algorithm. Like playing a game in a land-based casino, the odds of winning are determined by luck and skill. Let’s look at all the ways in which live dealer games differ from computer-based casino games. Live Dealer Games Combine Luck and Skill Compared to computer-based table games and slot machines, live dealer games require some skill. The former requires no skill whatsoever, as game results are determined by luck alone; with the latter, you’ll need to have a little bit of luck, but you’ll also need to show a bit of skill if you want to win. As the saying goes, you’ll need to know when to hold ‘em and when to fold ‘em. Play Games In Real-Time When you play live dealer games, you’re playing against actual human dealers who use real cards, roulette wheels, and dice. When players see these tangible items, they understand that they’re not just playing against some random computer. Playing against a computer can make us feel as though the decks are stacked against us. We’re all a bit wary of casinos (we know the house always wins), and playing against a computer can make us feel even more helpless and unable to control the results. More Game Variety Every player has a select set of games they gravitate toward (mostly because they find they’re more likely to win!). Live dealer games offer more variety than computer-based games. You’ll see games like Sic Bo, Teen Patti, and auto roulette in live dealer format – games that aren’t always available as straight table games. Why Players Feel More In Control With Live Dealer Games Now that you have a better understanding of how live dealer games differ from other types of online casino games, let’s look at some of the reasons why players might feel more in control of the outcomes of the former versus the latter. Some Live Dealer Games Require Strategy Unlike computer-based games, some live dealer games require strategy. You’ll need to have a basic understanding of blackjack, baccarat, table poker, and craps if you want to win against the dealer. That being said, games of chance, such as roulette, won’t make a difference if they’re played against a live dealer or a computer. Results of Live Dealer Game Aren’t Determined by RNGs When you play a table game against a computer, the results are determined by RNGs and return-to-player percentages (RTPs). This means that the outcome of a computer-based online casino game is always determined before you even start playing. Because live dealer game results aren’t determined by RNGs or RTPs, a lot of players believe they have more control over the outcomes. Live Dealer Games Offer Transparency When you play a casino game against a live dealer, you can see the mechanics of the game played out on your screen. This differs from computer-based casino games that often feel AI-generated or otherwise “fake”. Some players simply feel as though the odds are better if they can see a live dealer shuffle and deal the cards (although this could be more of an illusion). The bottom line? Most players feel they’re more in control when playing live dealer games than when playing other types of casino games, and there’s plenty of reasoning to back up those assumptions. Yet, it’s important to understand that players have absolutely no control over the outcomes of games that are purely luck based. [ra:122 c]]]>

<![CDATA[We’ve all heard the stories of players winning the lottery, a big sports bet, or a jackpot slot spin – only to find themselves bankrupt in a few months or years. And most of us believe that if we won big, we would certainly put that money to good use; however, the data shows otherwise. Let’s look at whether big wins make you play more or less, and why you’re more likely to keep playing your winnings after you’ve won a large chunk of change. Why Big Wins Make You Play More A 2023 study that analyzed the playing habits of 36,328 sports gamblers found that big wins often lead to increased gambling (though players’ habits generally diminished over time). The study suggested that these big wins could also lead to problem gambling. One possible explanation for big wins causing bettors to play more is that our brains remember big wins more than modest wins, and this can cause beginners to believe these types of wins are more common than they actually are. Here are a few other reasons why big wins can make you play more. Illusion of Control The study suggested that big wins could give players an illusion of control, or the misbelief that the player won big because they were simply a sharp bettor. In the player’s mind, they had complete control over the outcome of the bet, so they would be able to reproduce the results if they kept betting. Hot Hand Effect The study also cited the work of three other researchers, Gilovich, Vallone, and Tversky, who in 1985 found that players believe that they need to keep playing so they don’t break their winning streak. House Money Effect Another finding of the study was that a lot of players felt that once they won big, they weren’t even betting their own money anymore. Instead, they were betting the house’s money, as their winnings weren’t their “own funds” to begin with. Why Big Wins Might Make You Play Less Even though the data shows that big wins are more likely to make you play more, there are a few reasons why some players are more inclined to play less. One reason is that some players might feel nervous about their winnings, fearing they could end up betting more than they’ve won – and end up losing just as big as they’ve won. Other players might simply need the money for other expenses. Some might decide to only bet a percentage of their winnings (say 10%) so they don’t end up losing everything they’ve won. The Verdict: Do Big Wins Actually Make You Play More or Less? At the end of the day, the data is clear: big wins are more likely to make you play more. Studies show that winning big can lead to increased gambling, which could lead to problem gambling. If you’re lucky enough to win big on a sports bet, slots, or the lottery, create a budget for your winnings, so you don’t end up burning through your good fortune. [ra:137 c]]]>

And it happens so often that you might not even realize why you love a game so much. Let’s look at how pop culture influences casino game themes – from the design to the marketing and game features. Pop-Culture-Inspired Casino Game Themes Here are a few of our favorite pop-culture-inspired casino game themes. The most popular themes that are ripped right out of the zeitgeist include music-themed slots, movie-themed slots, and TV-themed slots. Yet, you’ll find that there isn’t an area of the online casino world that isn’t touched by pop culture these days. Music-Themed Slot Games Music-themed slots are some of the most popular games available right now. You’ll find that plenty of your favorite bands provide the themes and soundtracks to some of the hottest slot games. Here are a few of the most popular music-themed slots: Jimi Hendrix: Developed by NetEnt with a 96.9% RTP and low volatility, this slot game rocks and rolls to the backdrop of some of Jimi Hendrix’s most popular songs. Motorhead: Also developed by NetEnt, this slot machine features a 96.98% RTP and low volatility. The game is made to look like you’re at a Motorhead concert, and you can even turn on Rock Mode to increase the volume on the soundtrack. Guns N’ Roses: This popular slot game was also developed by NetEnt and features a 96.98% RTP and medium-low volatility. Special features include Appetite for Destruction Wilds, Encore Free Spins, and Crowd Pleaser Bonuses. Michael Jackson: The King of Pop slot game was designed by Bally Technologies and features a 96.01% RTP. Featured songs include “Smooth Criminal” and “Beat It”. Elvis: Of course, you can’t talk about Music and Vegas without mentioning Elvis. Elvis the King Lives was developed by WMS Gaming and features a 96.09% RTP. Movie-Themed Slot Games So many movies have been transformed into slot games that we can’t mention all of them here. Yet, some of the best movies-turned-slots include: The Goonies The Godfather Gladiator Grease Anchorman Ghostbusters TV-Themed Slot Games Again, there are simply too many TV-themed slot games to mention them all here. Yet, you’ll find that many of your favorite TV shows are now your favorite slot games. First off, plenty of TV game shows have been turned into slot games. Mythology-Themed Slot Games Mythology has had a comeback in pop culture lately. From Marvel movies to Game of Thrones, we all need a little escapism sometimes. While a lot of slot game developers don’t have the rights to create Marvel-themed games, it doesn’t mean they can’t still use the character of Thor. You’ll find Greek mythology-themed slots, Egyptian mythology-themed slots, Norse mythology-themed slots, and more at both sweepstakes casinos and real-money casinos. Some of the most popular mythology-themed slot games include: Gates of Olympus Zeus Vs Hades Cleopatra Divine Fortune Medusa Megaways Asgardian Stones Fantasy-Themed Slot Games In the past few years, we’ve seen a rise in the popularity of fantasy-themed games. You’ll find princess-themed games, leprechaun-themed games, and even anime-themed games at online casinos. Even though many of these games aren’t directly related to their commercial counterparts, we can definitely see how derivative these games are when we look at the games and their inspiration side by side. Starlight Princess Pachi, Koi Princess, Mirror Mirror, the Red Queen, and Queenie are all examples of fantasy-themed slot games that were inspired by famous fantasy tales. [ra:161 c] Candy-Themed Slot Games Candy-themed slots are also insanely popular right now. And while these games aren’t Candy Land themed per se, you can definitely see some comparisons in the design of the board game and the design of these slot games. It’s pretty clear that a lot of casino game developers are targeting Gen X and Millennials with the designs of these games, as they’re pretty derivative of the popular Candy Land board game. Just a few candy-themed slot games include: Sugar Rush Sweet Kingdom Sweet Bonanza Holiday-Themed Slot Games It seems like everyone is into holidays now more than ever before. We all need a break from the insanity of the world, and holiday movies, TV shows, and (of course) slot games offer that release. There are plenty of American holidays represented in casino game theming, including St. Patrick’s Day, the Fourth of July, Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas. There are even holiday-themed games that partner with big movie franchises, like the Halloween series. Some of the most popular holiday-themed slots include: Big Bass Christmas Bash Starlight Christmas Christmas Carol Megaways Sweet Bonanza® Xmas Infective Wild Irish Charms Live Game Shows Game shows like Wheel of Fortune, Deal or No Deal, and the Price Is Right all have a place in our hearts. Since contestants compete in game shows to win money, it’s no wonder that game shows have made their way into the foray of online gambling. In addition to game show-themed slot games like Wheel of Fortune, Who Wants to Be a Millionaire, and Deal or No Deal, live game shows have also become very popular. These live game shows transform the excitement of simply watching game shows at home. Instead, you can participate and try to win prizes along with other contestants Just a few popular live game shows include Adventures Beyond Wonderland and Spin A Win. Retro-Themed Casino Games There are also plenty of retro-themed casino games that remind us of bygone eras. These include the Great Pigsby (a take on the famous Great Gatsby novel) and Wizard Of Oz Emerald City (based on the famous L. Frank Baum novel). A lot of video games have made the natural transition into slot games, too. Just a few video game-themed slot machines include: Lara Croft Tomb Raider Street Fighter Call of Duty Space Invaders Tomb Raider Resident Evil ]]>

<![CDATA[You know that age-old adage, knowledge is power? When it comes to making sports bets, knowledge isn’t just power; it translates into cold-hard cash. But what happens when knowing the stats isn’t helpful in sports betting? Let’s look at the types of sports data you should research before placing your bets and the most common ways in which knowing the stats can actually hinder your betting odds. Data You Should Research Before Betting on Sports While not all sports data is helpful, it’s still important to make informed decisions before placing your bets. All professional bettors do their research, and you should follow their lead by familiarizing yourself with the following types of sports data. Player Stats One of the most important types of data to analyze before placing a bet is player stats. Understanding how a player has performed in previous games can help you make more informed decisions when it comes time to place your bets. A lot of bettors simply place odds on the favorite, which isn’t always the best betting strategy. Since the favorite is already expected to win, everyone else will be betting on this team or player, too. Instead, try for prop bets on individual player performance (yards run, shots made, first field goal, etc.) if you want better odds pricing than simply betting on the favorite to win a game. Weather, Injuries & Terrain Weather, industry, and terrain can all affect team and player performance. Some tennis players crush their form on cement courts but don’t perform as well on clay. Race car drivers perform well on different tracks. Home teams usually have the advantage, but some home teams have a significant advantage over visiting teams at certain playing fields. You’ll also find that there are players who don’t perform well in certain weather conditions. Of course, you’ll always want to research players’ injuries, too. If a player sustained an injury even weeks before, it could affect their performance. Historical Data & Trends One of the most important pieces of information to have on hand before placing a sports bet is historical data. Research how teams have performed in the previous weeks and how they previously performed against the teams they’re scheduled to play. Odds Pricing Sportsbooks do their own research before they publish opening lines, and the odds are not always in your favor. These platforms have teams of oddsmakers that have years of experience researching sports data. Yet, oddsmakers aren’t perfect. The pricing of odds can differ at every sportsbook, so it’s in your best interest to shop around when the odds are released. [ra:153 c] How Knowing the Stats Can Hinder Sports Betting Decisions Sports data is only helpful if you use it effectively. Sadly, a lot of novice bettors don’t understand how to use sports stats or misuse data altogether. Here are some of the common ways sports statistics can actually impede your betting decisions. Not All Data Is Helpful It’s easy to misinterpret data or find patterns where patterns don’t exist. One of the most common pitfalls of green sports bettors is focusing on sports betting data that isn’t vital to the event. Overanalyzing data can be the kiss of death to sports bettors. If you get too bogged down in the weeds, you may find it hard to sift through your data, or worse, you could end up suffering from decision fatigue and making really bad bets off the cuff. Misusing AI Using ChatGPT to make sports bets has become very popular in the past few years. A lot of novice bettors assume that they can simply ask AI who will win a game or how many yards a player will run. While AI can be useful in some betting scenarios, it’s not a Magic 8 Ball that can see into the future. We have a long way to go before ChatGPT can accurately predict sports bets. And when that happens? Everyone will be making the same bets using AI, which will affect the lines. Data Can’t Determine Luck Sometimes players get injured mid-game. Sometimes an underdog surprises everyone and wins against a favorite. Sometimes it snows in May. Sports betting is a skill that can be honed over time. But at the end of the day, luck still plays a major factor in the outcomes of sporting events. Does Knowing the Stats Really Help in Sports Betting? The Verdict Yes, researching and understanding the stats can help in sports betting, but misunderstanding the data can lead to losses. One way to use data more effectively is to keep track of your own betting history. Try to analyze your strongest and weakest bets. Figure out where you went wrong and where you excelled. Understanding why bets won or lost can help you refine your research strategy over time.]]>

<![CDATA[Sweepstakes casinos offer two types of coins for gameplay: Gold Coins and Sweepstakes Coins. Sweepstakes Coins are often dubbed “Free Sweeps Coins” because they can only be obtained for free and have no “real-world value”. Play casino games like slots, live dealer games, table games, and instant win games with either coin. When you win Sweepstakes Coins, you can redeem them for cash prizes or gift cards once you’ve won a minimum amount. Why Do Sweepstakes Casinos Offer Free Sweeps Coins? The only way to obtain Sweeps Coins is for free – these coins cannot be purchased. Gambling laws dictate that you cannot purchase virtual currency that could be redeemed for prizes. Yet, you can purchase Gold Coins, which cannot be redeemed for prizes, and this is how sweepstakes casinos make money. When you make a Gold Coin purchase, you may get Free Sweeps Coins as a bonus (though not every Gold Coin purchase comes with bonus Free Sweeps Coins). You can also obtain Free Sweeps Coins by sending a hand-written request to the sweepstakes casino through USPS. Since these sites operate under sweepstakes laws and these laws dictate that no purchase is necessary to participate, they must offer free means of entry. What’s the Catch? Are Sweeps Coins Too Good to Be True? No, not at all! When you play with Sweepstakes Coins, you can redeem them for cash prizes or gift cards once you’ve won the minimum threshold. But you’re going to want to check the terms and conditions of each site: if you need to win more than 100 SC before you can redeem your Sweeps Coins for prizes, you’ll need to play at least that amount to clear playthrough requirements. The Final Verdict: Are Sweeps Coins Worth It? Yes, it’s definitely worth signing up for sweepstakes casinos to get Free Sweeps Coins. Just do your homework before creating a new player account to ensure the site is legit and so you understand the terms and conditions before playing. [ra:141 c]]]>

<![CDATA[Most people have been known to chase losses from time to time. Finishing a book or a movie you hate, continuing to search for deals when you’ve previously overspent, and gambling to recoup losses are all examples of this behavior. But what does the science say about chasing losses? Why do we double down and continue to do the thing that’s making us unhappy, even if we know it’s not working? When we experience wins (gambling or otherwise), our brain releases dopamine, a feel-good chemical that rewards feel-good behaviors; when we experience losses, when something bad happens, our brains release stress response hormones that can make us feel even worse. We chase losses to get a hit of those feel-good chemicals and avoid stress-response hormones. Of course, we also want to negate the consequences of losing, too. 7 Reasons Why Gamblers Keep Playing After Losing So why do people keep playing after losing, even when their rational mind tells them not to? Let’s look at seven reasons why gamblers often chase losses. 1. They Don’t Want Their Last Play to Be a Loss Many gamblers feel superstitious about losing. If they stop playing when they’re losing, they often feel as though they might never win again. Yet, it’s important to remember that the house always wins. If you’re losing, it’s better to cut your losses than to chase them. 2. They Believe the Next Big Win Is Around the Corner We all believe that gambling is a numbers game. If you bet enough times, you have to come out a winner at some point, right? Not necessarily. If you’re playing a slot machine with a high return-to-player percentage (RTP), sure, you’ll probably win at least one spin eventually. But will the winnings of that one spin negate all the losses? Sports betting can be even dicier. Sure, the odds are posted for each bet, but even betting on the favorite doesn’t guarantee a win. 3. They Get Emotional Many gamblers bet with their hearts, or who they want to win a sports matchup, instead of who is most likely to win. Casino gamblers can also get emotional after losing time after time, and emotional betting doesn’t lead to good choices. 4. They Have a Gambling Addiction Nearly 6 million to 8 million Americans struggle with gambling addiction or problem gambling. If you have a gambling addiction, you may not be able to stop betting even if you want to. You may be more likely to chase losses or even bet when you don’t plan on betting. 5. They Want to Win Back What They’ve Lost One of the most common reasons gamblers chase losses is that they want to win back what they’ve lost. The sting of losing doesn’t hurt as much when they “negate” their losses by winning them back. Yet, this line of thought doesn’t usually work, as emotional bets are more likely to be made. 6. They Suffer From Loss Aversion Experts say that people with loss aversion feel the pain of losing more intensely than the joy of winning. Since the goal of someone with loss aversion is to avoid pain, they’re more likely to continue gambling when they’re losing. 7. They Struggle With Impulse Control Impulse control can lead to chasing losses and chasing wins. Linked to problem gambling and gambling addiction, people who suffer from this struggle to avoid behaviors that may cause negative impacts in the future.]]>

<![CDATA[Most gamblers opt ot play games on their mobile devices these days. But does playing on your smartphone or tablet increase your chances of winning? Not necessarily. Let’s look at the pros and cons of playing on your mobile device versus a laptop or desktop computer – and determine which device will actually help you win more. Reasons Why Desktop Players May Win More at Online Casinos When push comes to shove, playing at online casinos on a desktop computer can actually increase your chances of winning. Let’s look at the top reasons why the odds are better if you play on a stationary computer rather than a smartphone. Desktops Can Offer More Reliable Bandwidth If you’re playing on a desktop computer or a laptop, you’re more likely to be playing at home (or at least a location with a stable wifi connection). Smartphone gamblers often play in public (i.e., when using cellphone data), and connections may not be as stable as a home wifi connection. When you’re spinning the reels or playing live dealer games, you must have a solid connection – something that’s not always available if you’re on the go. You’re More Likely to Gamble on Your Phone Aimlessly Most of us are better at skill-based games when we’re paying attention. That’s less likely to happen if you’re using a smartphone. The ability to play wherever, whenever is extremely convenient, yet you’re more likely to mindlessly play casino games or place sports bets if you’re on a phone than when you’re playing at a stationary computer. Smartphone Gamblers May Be More Impulsive Some research suggests that gamblers are more impulsive when playing on their smartphones instead of a stationary computer. A 2023 study found that gamblers who bet on daily fantasy sports or make other sports bets on their mobile devices are more likely to bet impulsively. Researchers followed 267 participants over the course of 10 weeks and discovered that the participants were more likely to adopt unhealthy gambling habits. Even aside from problem gambling, impulsive betting is never a good idea – especially when it comes to sports betting. The more informed you are about sports bets, the more likely you are to walk away with positive results. Desktop Gameplay Can Be More Informed When you’re placing strategy-based bets, such as sports bets, you want to make informed decisions. It’s harder to be informed when you’re betting on a mobile device, as you may be less likely to leave the sports betting app to research players' stats, performance histories, weather conditions, and other factors that can impact performance. When you place bets on a desktop or laptop computer, it’s easier to open multiple tabs (while keeping the sportsbook website open) to do this research. It’s also easier to consult the lines and prices of multiple sportsbooks at the same time. Push Notifications May Make You Gamble More There’s a reason online casinos and sportsbooks want you to download their apps. They can more closely monitor your betting habits and send you push notifications. Online gambling has increased since the introduction of mobile sportsbooks. Yes, it’s more convenient to play wherever, whenever. But it’s also easier for sportsbooks to ensure you don’t forget to bet or to send you messages that entice you to log into your account regularly. Smartphone Gamblers Can Get Distracted Whenever you’re betting in public (or away from home), you’re more likely to get distracted. Whether you’re in a waiting room, a car, a train, or anywhere else in public, you’re more likely to get distracted than if you were sitting in a quiet home office or living room. For skill-based bets, such as sports bets or some card games, you could end up making mistakes. Even for luck-based bets like slots, you could lose track of time or end up playing for longer than you intend to. Do You Play Better on Mobile or Desktop? The Verdict Most bettors simply make better decisions when using their desktop computers – especially if they’re in a quiet or private location with reliable internet. Though it’s tempting to want to play casino games or place sports bets on a mobile device, it’s not always the most opportune method of gambling. [ra:68 c]]]>

<![CDATA[Near misses are losses that appear as though they will result in a win up until the last second. Anyone who has ever watched the reels of a slot machine come close to landing on a big win – only to result in a loss – has experienced a near miss. Let’s take a look at how the gambling industry makes you believe you’ve come close to winning and why these losses can emotionally and physically hurt more than other losses. How the Gambling Industry ‘Fakes” Near Misses There’s some evidence that some slots are programmed to make you think that you’re going to win a spin, only for that spin to result in a loss. There are several reasons why casino game developers would want to program near misses into their games, which we will discuss in a few sections. The bottom line is that near misses can encourage gamblers to continue playing long after they may have stopped, if a spin had simply resulted in a regular loss. Why Near Misses Hurt More Than Other Losses Near misses can trigger intense emotions, induce physical pain, and even lead to gambling addiction. Let’s discuss why losing after believing you’re about to win can be more painful than other losses. They Trigger Intense Emotions Near misses give you false hope that you might win a bet. Up until the final moment, you’re convinced you’re going to win – only to have those hopes dashed when the outcome isn’t what you expected. This can trigger intense emotions, such as anger, sadness, and regret. Many gamblers believe they somehow could have altered the outcome (which is very rarely the case in luck-based games, such as slots or roulette). It simply hurts more when your emotions swing from extreme positives to extreme negatives. They Can Induce Physical Reactions Many gamblers experience physical pain when they lose a bet because the parts of the brain that regulate emotional responses also regulate physical pain. Since we know that near misses can induce a greater negative emotional response, we can also presume that they could trigger an even greater physical response, too. They Entice Gamblers to Continue Playing The University of Pennsylvania published a paper titled “The impact of near-miss events on betting behavior: An examination of casino rapid roulette play” in 2012 that determined near misses can entice gamblers to play longer. The paper suggests that gamblers believe they have some degree of control over the outcomes of luck-based games. If a gambler believes that they could come close to winning once, they often believe they can do it again (and possibly even win the second time). They Could Lead to Gambling Addiction The more near misses you experience, the more likely you are to continue to play – even if you’ve already exhausted your gambling budget. Continually experiencing near misses over and over could potentially lead to a gambling addiction. This is why it’s important to set time-based and dollar-based gambling budgets and to stick to them. It’s also important to remember that you have no control over luck-based games. If you’re experiencing near misses, it’s not because you’re “good” at gambling; it’s more likely that the casino game is programmed to make you believe that you came close to winning when, in actuality, wins and losses are determined by random number generators. <![CDATA[Many gamblers believe that faster game speeds can lead to more wins. Less lag time equates to higher chances of winning a spin at an online slot machine or a hand in an online poker room, right? Not necessarily. Game speeds don’t really affect wins and losses at online casinos. Even though we may believe that lag times are responsible for losses, most casino game results are determined by return-to-player percentages (RTPs) and random-number generators (RNGs). Neither of these algorithms is affected by game speed. Yet, many gamblers still superstitiously believe that losses can be controlled. What’s even more intriguing is that faster game speeds may actually result in more losses over time. Let’s take a closer look at how game speed affects your gameplay and whether or not slower load times are responsible for losses. How Faster Game Speed Impacts Casino Gameplay Marketers find that players consider casinos with fast-loading gameplay more trustworthy. If an online casino offers a good user experience, players consider the site a reputable place to play. But does game speed actually make a casino more reputable? Not necessarily. The only reputable real-money online casinos are ones that are licensed and regulated by the states in which they operate. Online casinos that are licensed and regulated have bigger budgets for servers and IT teams. Faster game speeds can actually make online casinos more profitable because gamblers are more likely to continue gambling on faster sites. Let’s look at how faster game speeds actually impact your gameplay at online casinos. Faster Game Speeds Can Make You Play More When game speed moves more rapidly, you’re more likely to play for longer periods of time. A 2020 study found that faster game speeds made gamblers more excited – and more likely to continue playing. The study found that faster game speeds inhibited motor responses and made participants less likely to stop playing. Does this mean you’ll lose more? Possibly. If you find that you struggle to stop playing because the speed of games is so enticing, you’re more likely to continue playing after your daily budget has been spent. If you’re someone who chases losses, you’re more likely to continue playing to recoup the money you lost. Faster Game Speeds Can Lead to Problem Gambling A 2018 article published in The Journal of Gambling Studies titled “The Impact of Speed of Play in Gambling on Psychological and Behavioural Factors: A Critical Review” found that faster game speeds could lead to problem gambling. The article looked at 11 studies on game speed and problem gambling and found that people who suffer from problem gambling were more likely to become overstimulated, struggle to stop playing, and gamble more when playing at higher speeds. Although the article stated that more research is needed to determine the link between faster game speeds and problem gambling, it appears that game speed can impact self-control. Does Faster Game Speed Actually Make You Lose More? The Bottom Line Overall, yes, faster game speeds can actually lead to more losses over time. If you struggle to stop gameplay because the speed of the game is too exciting, you may not make the best choices when it comes to limiting your time gambling. [ra:158 c]]]>

<![CDATA[Sweepstakes games always require a lot of luck, and you also need a bit of skill to play a few categories. Luck-based games are generally slots, roulette, Slingo, bingo, and scratch games; ones that require some skill include poker, baccarat, blackjack, crash games, and fish games. So, which games do sweepstakes players prefer? Let’s look at the most popular games available at sweepstakes casinos to find out. Which Sweepstakes Casino Games Do Players Prefer? To determine if sweepstakes casino players prefer luck or skill, let’s analyze the most popular casino games, including slots, variety games, blackjack, roulette, baccarat, and poker. Slots - Luck The most popular sweepstakes casino game – by far – is slot games. There’s a reason why sweepstakes casinos feature more slots than any other game. Yes, the house edge is good on slots, but this category of games is so popular that many sweepstakes casinos exclusively offer them. Slots are definitely a game of luck. Even though you may think you have some control over the outcome (many players are extremely superstitious when spinning the reels), slots are simply a game of chance, as their results are determined by return-to-player percentages (RTPs) and random-number generators (RNGs). Variety Games - Skill/Luck Another popular game category at sweepstakes casinos is the variety game. Under this umbrella, we can find games like fish games, crash games, scratch cards, mine games, Plinko, and Slingo. The first two games in this category, fish games and crash games, require some skill. With fish games, you need to take aim at targets and successfully catch fish and other objects. With crash games, you need to decide when to “jump ship” before the object crashes. All other games in this category are simply games of chance, their results determined by RNGs. Blackjack - Skill/Luck Blackjack is another popular sweepstakes casino game, played as a live dealer game or against a computer. If you’re playing blackjack live, there’s definitely some skill involved; if you’re playing it against a computer, there’s a little skill, but results are determined by RTPs. Players could spend hours honing their blackjack strategies (and many do!), yet there’s always a bit of luck factored into this game that even the most seasoned blackjack players cannot avoid. Roulette - Luck Roulette is another game that can be played live against a dealer or solo against a computer. No matter which type of roulette you prefer, the results are always luck-based, as there is really no “skill” involved in this sweepstakes casino game. Baccarat - Skill/Luck Baccarat is a game that shares some similarities with blackjack and has become very popular at sweepstakes casinos. There is definitely some skill involved, but players cannot determine which cards will be drawn at certain times, so it’s also a luck-based game. Poker - Skill/Luck More and more sweepstakes casinos and social casinos are offering poker. Now that one of the most popular sweepstakes casinos, Stake.us, offers live poker, you can now play in several poker rooms on the platform. Yes, there is a lot of luck in poker, but this is primarily considered a skill-based game. The biggest difference when playing poker online is that you cannot read the expressions and tells of other players. Do Sweepstakes Players Prefer Skill or Luck? The Verdict While many sweepstakes players opt for skill-based games, we cannot deny the facts: the most popular games at sweepstakes casinos are primarily luck-based games. Since slots, one of the biggest luck-based casino games, are the most popular category at every sweepstakes casino, it’s clear that most players prefer games of chance. Even the games in the skill-based sweepstakes casino games require a little luck. That being said, these games are simply less popular than purely luck-based games, such as slots, Slingo, scratch games, and roulette. [ra:154 c]]]>

<![CDATA[Prop bets seem to get stranger and stranger every year. Just when you think you can’t be surprised about the bets that get odds on gambling sites, people start betting on whether or not a popular coach will be doused in barbecue sauce instead of Gatorade. Here are the five most bizarre prop bets of the past few years. 1. How Long Will Kendrick Lamar Sing “Not Like Us?” Super Bowl prop bets are massively popular (so much so that most of the bizarrest prop bets revolve around this one sporting event). Probably not the weirdest prop bet on this list is how long Kendrick Lamar would sing “Not Like Us” at Super Bowl LIX. Lamar’s biggest hit (and a huge reason behind his feud with Drake) was sure to be sung during his Super Bowl performance – but no one knew how much of the song he’d sing (including some of the more salacious bits). The song lasted only 1 minute and 43 seconds. Since the full-length version of the song lasts 4 minutes and 33 seconds, this couldn’t have been an easy prop bet to accurately predict. 2. Will Travis Kelce Propose to Taylor Swift at the Super Bowl? Travis Kelce’s talent as a tight end has been widely eclipsed by his relationship with Taylor Swift in the past few years. Even though fans still talk about Kelce’s acumen on the field, all the general public wants to talk about is his girlfriend. This is why a lot of prop bets have surfaced surrounding Swift instead of Kelce on game days. One prop bet that made its way into the zeitgeist last year was whether Kelce would propose to Swift at the Super Bowl. Spoiler alert: it hasn’t happened yet. But that doesn’t mean we won’t see Kelce get down on one knee at his next Super Bowl appearance. 3. Will Andy Reid Be Doused in BBQ Sauce? Back in 2024, a bizarre prop bet surfaced that was focused on Kansas City Chiefs coach Andy Reid. Fans and bookmakers started wondering if Reid would be doused in barbecue sauce instead of Gatorade (the latter is tradition) if the Chiefs won Super Bowl LVIII. Sadly, Reid was not doused with barbecue sauce but instead orange Gatorade, so fans who placed bets on Reid’s favorite condiment lost out. This one will probably surface every time the Chiefs head back to the Super Bowl. 4. Will Bono Be the Next Pope? The one non-sports-related bizarre prop bet to make this list is so weird we just had to include it. When the conclave convened in Rome in April 2025, gambling sites started posting odds for who would be the next pope. The strangest celebrity to get odds? Lead singer of U2, Bono. Unfortunately for Bono, the odds were not in his favor (they were posted at 1,000-1). Bono didn’t become the next pope, so any gambler who took those odds lost out. 5. Will a Player or Coach Cry During the National Anthem? During Super Bowl LVII, not one – but two – players on the field cried during the national anthem, including Nick Sirianni and Jason Kelce. Since, gambling sites have been accepting prop bets on whether players or coaches will be moved to tears (some even take bets on specific players). [ra:160 c]]]>

<![CDATA[The idea that anyone would play a slot machine for 24 hours straight is a little… far-fetched. Yet, it is possible that somewhere out in the world, a few gamblers have tried to do just this. We definitely do not condone playing any casino game for an extended period of time, let alone for 24 hours. But if you’re as curious about what would happen as we were, read on to discover the odds of winning – and some of the possible pitfalls you might encounter along the way. What Could Happen If You Played a Slot Machine for 24 Hours So what could happen if you played a slot machine for 24 hours straight? Let’s look at some of the most common scenarios. You’d Probably Lose More Than Win Slot machine wins and losses are determined by two factors, including return-to-player percentage (RTP) and random-number generators (RNGs). RTP is the amount of money the slot machine pays out over time. A slot machine with a 97% RTP pays out $0.97 on every $1 over time. In essence, the odds of winning are not in any player’s favor, as the house always wins on slot machines. RNGs are the algorithms that determine which spins result in wins or losses. Both wins and losses are totally random; despite what a lot of players believe, no machine or player is ever “due for a big win”. Yes, you could win big on a spin because the slot machine needs to pay out a certain amount of money for every dollar played, but you’re not guaranteed even to win the RTP – even if you were to play for 24 hours straight. The highest slot machine RTPs are around 98% (some reach even 99%). That still means that the house will win $0.01 for every $1 played over time. The odds you’ll win big after playing a slot machine for 24 hours straight are very slim. Yet, you could win big on one of your spins. Gambling experts always advise stopping after a big win – not continuing to play for 24 hours straight. You Wouldn’t Be Able to Function If you’re playing a slot machine in a casino for 24 hours straight, you won’t be able to go to the bathroom, eat, or sleep. Yes, you could order drinks from the casino waitstaff (though you probably would want to opt for water instead of alcoholic beverages if you want better odds of playing longer). All the basic necessities your body needs to function properly and for your brain to make good decisions won’t be available to you if you’re playing a slot machine nonstop. The worst-case scenario? You’ll be too exhausted to realize how much money you’ve spent. Even playing a slot machine at an online casino with the autospin function can lead to big losses. Online casinos often offer this feature on many slot machines; however, casinos recommend keeping a close eye on your gameplay to avoid betting more than your budget allows. You Might Win Big There’s still a chance you might win big. Players have won large amounts of money playing slot machines for far less time than 24 hours straight. Yet, the reason these gamblers were able to cash out their winnings was that they knew when to stop playing. Again, experts suggest gamblers stop playing after a big win. This means that playing a slot machine for 24 hours straight (regardless of whether you win or lose) isn’t a good strategy. You Could Have a Gambling Addiction Playing any casino game for 24 straight hours is a sign of a gambling addiction. If you’ve played a slot machine (or any casino game) for longer than you intended or exceeded your budget, there are resources available to help. You can self-exclude at sweepstakes casinos (or at the very least request your account be deactivated). In some states, you can directly self-exclude at real-money online casinos; in other states, you may need to self-exclude through the state gambling control board. You can also call 1-800-GAMBLER for resources about problem gambling. [ra:155 c]]]>

<![CDATA[Every gambler has experienced losing streaks at some point in their gameplay. They take 10 or 20 spins on a game with a 97% return-to-player percentage (RTP), only to lose every single one. If a game has a 97% RTP, it should pay out $0.97 on the dollar, right? What players often forget is that RTPs are calculated over time – not on every bet. This means that someone could potentially lose every bet they place, even if they spin the reels dozens of times. Is there any way to know if a game is rigged? Let’s look at the facts. What Are the Chances a Casino Game Is Rigged? The chances that games at a licensed casino are rigged are slim to none. If a casino is caught rigging a game, it will be charged fines and potentially lose licensure; the parties involved may also face jail time. It’s simply not “worth it” for a licensed casino to rig games. Casinos always make money on games because they set RTPs to below 100%. Thus, they will always make money – even if some players score big wins. Can You Tell If a Casino Game Is Rigged? Most players believe that they can tell if a casino game is rigged; however, that’s not always true. In the following sections, we’ll talk about why some players mistakenly believe casino games are rigged. Why Some Players Believe Casino Games Are Rigged Gambler’s Fallacy The gambler’s fallacy is a phenomenon where players mistakenly believe that the odds dictate they should win after a series of losses. For example, someone might believe that since they have a 50/50 chance of winning a coin toss, it means they should be able to correctly guess heads or tails 5 times for every 10 times the coin is flipped. Yet, this simply isn’t true. You have a 50/50 chance of guessing heads or tails on every toss – not a guaranteed win of 5 out of 10 tosses. Playing at Offshore or Unregulated Casinos Some players correctly believe that some offshore or unregulated casinos rig games. Since these casinos are not regulated, verified, or licensed, gamblers may be playing rigged games. When there are no checks and balances, games may be rigged. This is why we don’t recommend playing at unlicensed casinos at OddsSeeker. Although these casinos may not be rigging games, there is simply a higher likelihood that they will if there are no consequences for their actions. At the very least, there could be developer bugs in games that go undetected, which we’ll cover in the next section. They Simply Don’t Win Sometimes when players are on a losing streak, they begin to suspect a game is rigged. Though this is not often the case at licensed and regulated casinos, mistakes sometimes happen. Licensed online casinos in the U.S. are bound by law to report programming mistakes, so both casinos and developers test games to ensure RTPs are accurate; however, there have been some instances where slot developers accidentally set a game’s RTP to zero. In these cases, players reported suspected errors, and the developers and casino investigated potential errors. By law, they must report any errors to state governing authorities and refund gamblers who bet money on those games. Yet even in these cases, the games themselves aren’t “rigged”. There’s no financial reward for a casino that sets a game’s RTP lower than the posted percentage. [ra:154 c]]]>

<![CDATA[What happens when you play sweepstakes slots every day for a week? I took one for the team last week and played slots at five sweepstakes casinos to see just what would happen. Here is my day-by-day breakdown of how much I won, how much I lost, and how many Free Sweeps Coins I got at each casino. Here’s What Happened Each Day I Played Sweepstakes Slots for One Week Here is the breakdown of how much I won playing sweepstakes slots at Zula, YayCasino.com, Stake.us, WOW Vegas, Legendz, Crown Coins, and Spree. Sunday - Zula Casino On the first day of my week-long sweepstakes slot run, I signed up for the Zula Casino no-deposit bonus. I received 10 Free Sweeps Coins and 120,000 Gold Coins (because I also accepted the Day 1 login bonus). I started by playing Madame Destiny Megaways, a slot game with a Megaways slot game with a 96.56% RTP. Not a bad RTP but definitely not the highest, either. I tried out a few rounds with Gold Coins and then switched to Sweepstakes Coins. After playing through my 10 Free Sweepstakes Coins, I won 75 SC total! Definitely not a bad way to start my week. Monday - YayCasino.com Since I did so well with my Zula run on Sunday, I decided to head back to Zula and claim my daily login bonus – but I’m waiting to play more at Zula until I’ve collected at least 7 SC through daily login bonuses. So, I decided to head over to Zula’s sister site, YayCasino.com, to see if I could do just as well there. At YayCasino.com, I claimed a no-deposit welcome bonus of 100,000 Gold Coins and 10 Free Sweeps Coins by signing up for an account, completing qualifying actions, and claiming my Day 1 login bonus. I decided to try out Queenie, which has a 96.51% RTP. Again, not the highest RTP slot game, but I did so well with Madame Destiny Megaways, I figured, why not? After about 10 minutes, I’d played through my 10 Free Sweeps Coins and won 7 Sweepstakes Coins. Definitely not the luck I experienced at Zula Casino, but not every day can garner a big win, right? Tuesday - Stake.us After playing for two days at Blazesoft sweepstakes casinos, I switched over to Stake.us, a crypto sweepstakes casino. I signed up for an account and claimed my 250,000 Gold Coins and 25 Free Stake Cash with the bonus code ODDSSEEKER. I also claimed my Day 1 login bonus of 1 Free Stake Cash. Since I’d had good luck with Madame Destiny Megaways, I thought I’d try out Madame Mystique Megaways Enhanced RTP, which is a Stake Exclusive and has a 98.03% RTP. After playing through my 25 Free Sweeps Coins, I walked away with 33 Sweepstakes Coins. Again, not bad at all! Wednesday - WOW Vegas On Sunday, I signed up for an account at WOW Vegas and claimed 2 Free Sweeps Coins just for signing up. I also claimed the first three-day login bonus of 1 Free Sweeps Coin per day on Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday. I was also able to claim 250,000 WOW Coins (WOW Vegas’s branded version of Gold Coins). I found a high RTP slot in WOW Vegas’s library, Gypsy Rose, which offers a 97.63% RTP. I took a few spins on it and won 3 Sweepstakes Coins after playing through my 5 Free Sweeps Coins. Since those odds aren’t bad, I also decided to claim the first-purchase promo of 1.5 million WOW Coins for $9.99, plus 35 FREE SC. After taking a few more spins on Gypsy Rose (actually, it took about half an hour to play through my 35 Sweepstakes Coins), I won 30 SC. Since WOW Vegas allows you to redeem Sweepstakes Coins for gift card prizes after winning only 30 SC, I opted to do just that. Thursday - Legendz On Thursday, I signed up for an account at Legendz and received 500 Gold Coins and 3 Free Sweepstakes Coins for creating a new player account. I also claimed the first-purchase promo of a 100% first-purchase match and got 20,000 Gold Coins for $100, plus a bonus of 100 Free Sweeps Coins. I played my 103 Sweepstakes on Sugar Rush, which has a 96.50% RTP. Since it takes quite a while to play through the 1x requirement on 103 Sweepstakes Coins, I’m still playing. So far, I’ve played 50 SC and have won a total of 48 SC, which isn’t bad, considering the RTP is quite a bit lower than that. I’ll keep everyone updated on how I fared after playing through all of my Sweepstakes Coins! Friday - Crown Coins On Friday, I signed up for an account at Crown Coins and claimed 100,000 Crown Coins and 2 FREE Sweeps Coins for creating an account. I also took advantage of the first-purchase promo of 800,000 Crown Coins for $15.99, plus 40 Free Sweeps Coins. (I believe this bonus needs to be claimed within a certain number of hours after creating an account, so don’t sleep on this one!) After making my purchase, I used my 43 Sweepstakes Coins to play The Doghouse Megaways, which has a 96.55% RTP. I won 50 Sweepstakes Coins after playing this game for about 15 minutes! This is good for me because I only need 50 SC to initiate a redemption. Saturday - Spree For my final day (and final sweepstakes casino), I chose Spree Casino, where I received 2.5 Free Sweeps Coins and 1,000,000 Gold Coins upon signup. I also claimed the first-purchase promo of 30,000 Gold Coins for $9.99, plus a bonus of 30 Free Spree Coins. I played my 32.5 SC on Dr. Frankenstein, which has an RTP of 96.39%. I didn’t do as well on this one, as I ended up losing 15 SC over about 10 minutes (at some points I was up; others I was down), so I opted for a slot game that has served me well this week, Madame Destiny Megaways, and won 20 SC over the next 10 minutes. All in all, not a bad week playing sweepstakes slots! Of course, these results will vary by player, but you can see how much I spent on Gold Coins and how many Free Sweeps Coins I received at each site. [ra:96 c]]]>

<![CDATA[Online and land-based casinos get more traffic on weekends. Is this a coincidence, or is it simply a trend that could fade over time? Let’s look at why casinos attract more players on weekends and whether the best time to gamble is actually on weekends, or if there’s a better time to spin the reels or throw down on blackjack. Why Casinos Attract More Players on Weekends There are a few reasons why gamblers are more likely to play on weekends instead of weekdays. Here are a few of the most common. Gamblers Have More Time to Play A Gallup survey concluded that just over 40% of Americans work “traditional” nine-to-five jobs (i.e., work 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday). Still, the American lifestyle revolves around the idea that weekends are for pleasure. Those gamblers who enjoy weekends off are more likely to play at online casinos and land-based casinos after work or on their days off. Casinos Offer More Bonuses Online and land-based casinos both offer more bonuses on weekends. Casinos understand that gamblers have more time to play on weekends and evenings, so they need to be more competitive to draw in players. The easiest way to do so? By offering bonuses to lure players away from their competitors. This is why you may see more bonuses offered on weekends. Social Casinos & Land-Based Casinos Are More Active Players who log onto social casinos may be more likely to do so because they want to interact with other players using the chat functions. They might also be more likely to play when they know their friends are online. Land-based casinos are social “third spaces” for gathering. Players might be more inclined to head to a casino if they can convince their friends or family to join them. Are Weekends the Best Time to Play at Casinos? Reasons Why You Might Want to Play on Weekdays Even though it makes sense for a lot of gamblers to want to play at casinos on weekends, you may want to consider switching to weekdays. Here are some reasons why playing at casinos on weekdays could lead to a better experience. Load Times Could Be Shorter at Online Casinos The more players log onto an online casino website to play games, the more likely the website is to experience lag times or server delays. If you want a seamless online casino experience, you might want to consider playing when there are fewer gamblers online (such as during the day on weekdays). Land-Based Casinos Are Less Crowded Since land-based casinos see higher turnout on weekends, they tend to get pretty crowded. Not only does this happen because many players enjoy weekends off, but a lot of casinos also host events like Comic-Con, concerts, and live comedy shows on weekends. If you want to avoid the crowds, you might want to try spinning the reels or laying down some cash on table games on weekdays. There’s Less Competition on Weekdays Some gamblers believe that playing at casinos when there’s less competition will lead to better payouts. In reality, slot results are determined by random number generators (RNGs) and return-to-player percentages (RTPs). This means that games are designed to pay out a certain number of wins and a certain percentage of money over time. So, you may not win more by playing during non-peak hours. Yet, you may win a larger portion of a pot if there are fewer players, so poker could be a good game to play during non-peak hours. Overall, competitive casino games could be easier to win on weekdays when fewer gamblers are competing for a win. [ra:152 c]]]>

<![CDATA[Mobile-only players and desktop users should seemingly have similar betting practices, right? Recent studies show that these two types of gamblers actually bet very differently. In a 2023 Australian study, researchers found that players who placed bets on their mobile devices – particularly smartphones – were more likely to bet impulsively. These impulsive habits included accepting more bonuses, betting across more operators, and taking advantage of add-ons, such as bet boosts. 5 Reasons Why Mobile-Only Players Are More Impulsive Than Desktop Users So why are mobile-only players more impulsive than desktop users when betting? The aforementioned study found five clear reasons why players were more likely to bet impulsively on their smartphones than on their desktop computers. These reasons include convenience, push notifications, bonuses and promotions, in-app cashier options, and less betting stigma. 1. Convenience It’s no surprise that betting on a mobile device is simply more convenient than betting on a laptop or desktop. The ability to place bets whenever, wherever is a major factor in the uptick in impulsive gambling. 2. Push Notifications Players also report that push notifications can greatly influence them to gamble more on a smartphone than on a desktop computer. When an online casino app sends out a push notification, the players receive this notification in real-time (usually with an alert, such as a sound or vibration). Many push notifications are limited-time offers that the bettor must accept before a deadline. Since most of us don’t spend the time reminding ourselves of such offers in a calendar or notes app, we’re more likely to accept the offer when we receive the notification. 3. More Bonus and Promotion Options More bonuses and promotions are offered to app users, and many online casinos and sportsbooks advertise offers that can only be redeemed in the app. This is by design. Online gambling sites know that players are more likely to place impulsive bets on their smartphones than on their laptops. They’re also aware that players are less likely to do extensive research on odds or prices before placing bets on their mobile devices. 4. Ease of In-App Deposits Online casino apps and sportsbooks make it very easy to deposit funds into an online betting account by smartphone. The players in the aforementioned study reported making more deposits or higher deposits because they could more easily do so with a linked cashier method in an app (or with an even more convenient cashier option: e-wallets like Apple Pay or Google Pay). 5. Less Gambling Stigma When we gamble around other people, we’re more likely to bet less. Since there’s more privacy in betting with a smartphone, players reported that they made more impulsive bets simply because their friends or family members weren’t nearby. Unless you live alone, you’re less likely to place impulsive bets when using a desktop computer simply because others might see you and take notice. [ra:42 c]]]>

<![CDATA[A lot of market research goes into casino game designs. The right colors can send subconscious messages to players’ brains, convincing gamblers to play slots they might have otherwise overlooked. Color schemes can impact your game choices exponentially. Even if a game has a low RTP, you might choose to play it if the colors represent luck or fortune. Discover how the hidden impact of color schemes can affect your game choices and the most popular colors used in casino game design. How Color Schemes Can Impact Your Game Choices They Can Make You Opt for One Game Over Another: Most of us (even the savviest players) don’t know when our choices aren’t “ours” at all; most of the choices we make when interacting with products are fueled by marketing. This is also the case at casinos. Casino game developers utilize color schemes to evoke a specific feeling or establish a storyline. When you choose a game, you’re not really “choosing” it. Instead, the game chooses you. At online casinos, you’ll see a rainbow of colors, including ones that make you feel relaxed, excited, engaged, and hopeful. Greens and reds are considered “lucky” colors and are used in casino games to make gamblers believe they might be lucky if they choose such a game over the others. They Can Encourage You to Keep Playing: A lot of online casinos use darker color schemes; the reasoning behind this is similar to why Vegas casinos are so dark – so you don’t want to leave and continue to play. Color schemes are chosen based on market research. The more likely a gambler is to continue to play (and spend money), the more likely the developer will use that color scheme. They Can Keep You Awake: While darker colors are chosen to lull you into feelings of contentment, bright colors can keep you awake (and more likely to continue playing). If you find you’re more likely to continue spinning the reels long after you wanted to stop, bright color schemes could be to blame. Why Game Developers Choose Certain Color Schemes If you’ve ever wondered why games make you feel a certain way, you’re not alone. Here are some of the most common reasons why developers choose color schemes for their games. Yellow Yellow is an exciting color, so developers use different hues if they want you to feel energized. Popular slots that feature yellows in their designs include Midnight Pursuit, Mad Hit Jokester, and Gates of Olympus. Wild can rev up your emotions, convincing you to keep spinning those reels. Green Green is generally considered a “calming” color, but it is also a color that represents money and luck. Jokers Jewels Cash, Bill & Coin, Luck of the Irish, 7 Clovers of Fortune, and Finnegan’s Treasure all use green in their designs. Your subconscious mind might believe that you’ll win big if you play these games. Red The color red represents different emotions in different cultures. In some cultures, it represents anger or emotion; in others, it represents luck. Game developers choose the color red for their games when they want to invigorate or ignite their players. Since red is typically associated with luck in some Asian cultures, it’s often used in “lucky” Asian-themed games like 88 Fortunes, Fortunes House, and Dragon’s Luck. Purple Purple is used in a lot of slot games, especially mystery-themed or magic-themed slots. Some magic-themed slots that feature a lot of purple include Madame Destiny Megaways, Magician’s Secrets, and Voodoo Magic. Purple is also a color that’s associated with royalty. Most kings and queens are very rich, so playing a game with purple might tell your subconscious that you could live like royalty if you play it. Other games that feature purple include Zeus Kingdom of Riches, Mad Hit Diamonds, and Sweet Bonanza. [ra:156 c]]]>

<![CDATA[We all know those lottery players who will pick the same numbers over and over each week (or even several times a week, depending on the game). They swear that they’re bound to get lucky if they keep playing their lucky numbers. Or, they’re worried that if they don’t pick their lucky numbers one week, their special combination will award someone else the prize. Sadly, there’s no set formula for winning the lottery. Choosing the same numbers each week isn’t a great strategy because it doesn’t increase your odds of winning. According to US Mega Million, a better strategy might be to choose the most commonly drawn Mega Millions lottery numbers (63, 61, 32, and 21) or avoid the least lucky ones (49, 34, 29, 26, and 13). Most Common Reasons Why Players Choose the Same Lottery Numbers Every lottery player has their own strategy behind choosing their numbers, but let’s look at a few of the most common reasons why some players choose the same lottery numbers over and over. They’re Superstitious Because the lottery is a game of chance and totally random, a lot of players are very superstitious about their numbers. It’s not easy for the human brain to believe that anything can be left to chance. There has to be a reason for everything, right? Sadly, lottery numbers are random. The odds of winning the lottery are about 1 in 14 million. Your odds of being struck by lightning are 1 in 15,300; your odds of dying in a car crash are 1 in 107. When it comes down to it, the odds of winning the lottery are not in your favor. They’re Afraid They Might Miss Out Many lottery players who choose the same numbers over and over do so because they are afraid of missing out. They believe that if they don’t happen to choose their numbers one week, that might be the week that their lucky numbers are drawn. They Assume Their Numbers Will Eventually Hit Most players believe that statistically, they’re numbers will have to hit eventually. Unfortunately, this is simply not true. Unlike with other games of chance, lottery numbers are never removed from play after they’re won. This means that the number 15 can be drawn each time lottery numbers are chosen. Just as slot machines aren’t guaranteed to pay a win “at some point”, lottery numbers aren’t guaranteed to be drawn as long as you keep playing them. They’re Emotionally Attached to Their Numbers If you win the lottery playing your lucky numbers, your child’s birthday, or your anniversary, it makes the win more personal, more special. You can say that you were meant to win the lottery because you chose numbers that align with your life. Suddenly, the lottery isn’t some “random” win. You won because you deserved to win. They Don’t Want to Choose New Ones The most basic reason people choose the same lottery numbers over and over? They simply don’t feel like choosing new ones. They don’t love the idea of quick picks, and coming up with new “lucky” numbers each week is a daunting task.]]>

<![CDATA[Understanding how sweepstakes casinos work can be a little challenging if you’re new to this type of online casino gameplay. Yet, once you’ve found your footing, you’ll find that most sweepstakes casinos are very similar. To ensure you make the most of your gameplay, we’ve compiled a list of five moments that make or break your sweepstakes casino session. If you want to walk away from your gameplay with the best chances of winning, these steps will steer you in the right direction. 1. Claiming Your Bonuses Welcome Bonuses: If you don’t claim your welcome bonuses upon creating a new player account and completing qualifying actions, you could be missing out! Make sure you complete all qualifying actions required to claim your no-deposit bonus (including entering your phone number and email address, opting into marketing emails and texts, verifying your account, linking your account to Google and Facebook or other social media, and using any bonus codes). Once all of your qualifying actions have been completed, you’ll want to check your Gold Coin and Sweepstakes Coin balance to ensure that you’ve been credited the right amount. Daily Login Bonuses: If you forget to claim your daily login bonus, you could be missing out on Free Sweeps Coins and Gold Coins. Each day you log into your account, head over to your account settings or the Gold Coin store to claim your login bonuses. Promotions for Existing Players: Always check sweepstakes casinos’ promotions pages to see which promotions you’re eligible for. Opt in to races and tournaments, check out friend referral bonuses, keep an eye on your rewards or VIP status, and sign up for contests and bonus drops on social media. Purchase Bonuses: Most sweepstakes casinos offer Gold Coin purchase bonuses that often come with bonus Free Sweeps Coins. Most of these bonuses are time-limited offers, so be sure to make your purchase within the allotted time. 2. Purchasing Gold Coins Sweepstakes casinos often offer deals on Gold Coin purchases. These deals are offered for a limited time (see purchase bonuses above), so you’ll need to strike while the bonuses are hot. With many Gold Coin options, you’ll also get a bonus of Free Sweeps Coins. Make sure you choose a Gold Coin purchase option that comes with Free Sweeps Coins if you want the chance to redeem your SC for cash prizes. 3. Playing the Right Games Checking RTPs: Before you play games with Sweepstakes Coins, which can be redeemed for prizes once you’ve won the minimum amount in gameplay and cleared all playthrough requirements, check each game’s return-to-player percentage (RTP). Not all sweepstakes casinos offer this information on game title cards, so you may need to look up RTP on the developer’s website or within the game’s information tab. The higher the RTP, the more likely you are to win Gold Coins and Sweepstakes Coins. Checking Volatility: The RTP refers to the percentage each game awards Gold Coins or Sweepstakes Coins over time. (A slot machine with a 98% RTP will award 0.98 SC for every 1 SC played over time.) The volatility refers to the size and frequency of wins. A game with high volatility awards bigger wins less frequently; one with low volatility awards smaller wins more often. Play medium-volatility games for a chance at both big wins and more frequent ones. Playing Games With Gold Coins First: The first time you play any casino game, you should try the game with Gold Coins first to get a feel for the mechanics of the game, including special features, bonus rounds, free spins, and more. Sometimes, the games players enjoy the most aren’t the ones with the highest RTPs. 4. Checking Playthrough Requirements/Redeemable Sweeps Coins Checking Playthrough Requirements: At all sweepstakes casinos, Sweepstakes Coins must be played at least once before they can be redeemed for prizes, including cash prizes and gift cards. The number of times you must play Sweeps Coins before they’re eligible for redemption depends on the casino, yet most sites set the playthrough requirement at 1x (meaning you need to play Sweeps Coins once); however, some sweepstakes casinos set playthrough requirements at 3x to even 10x. Always check the terms and conditions at Sweepstakes Casinos to ensure you understand the playthrough requirements and how many times you need to play your SC before you can redeem it for prizes. Keeping an Eye on Redeemable Sweepstakes Coins: The good news is that most sweepstakes casinos will keep a rolling tally of your played and unplayed Sweeps Coins. To check your Unplayed SC balance and Redeemable SC balance, click your account, on the SC icon at the top of the screen, or the “redeem” button. You should see both balances listed on the screen. Understanding Redemption Minimums: Before you can redeem Sweepstakes Coins for prizes, you’ll need to win a minimum number of them (and have cleared all playthrough requirements). The most common redemption minimums for cash prize redemptions are 20 SC, 30 SC, 50 SC, 75 SC, and 100 SC. For gift cards, you may only need to have a minimum of 10 SC or 20 SC. 5. Redeeming Sweepstakes Coins for Cash Prizes Choosing the Right Redemption Method: The most common Sweepstakes Coin redemption methods include cash prizes and gift cards. For cash prizes, ACH bank transfers are almost always an option (though these may take longer to process. Other cash prize redemption methods include Skrill, PayPal, Trustly Online Banking, cryptocurrency, and debit cards. Understanding Redemption Times: The amount of time it takes for you to receive your prize can vary depending on the sweepstakes casino and the redemption method. Gift card redemptions can be processed instantly (though it could take up to 48 hours for you to receive your prize by email). PayPal, Skrill, cryptocurrency, and debit card cash prize redemptions are often processed faster than other redemption methods. Of course, the individual sweepstakes casino’s processing time may vary as well. Checking Redemption Fees: Though not terribly common, some sweepstakes casinos charge redemption fees. These fees vary based on the redemption method. For example, Stake.us charges a fee for some cryptocurrency redemptions (depending on the type of crypto you use). Fees vary, but the average fee is around 5 SC. [ra:157 c]]]>

<![CDATA[These days, we use AI like ChatGPT to make a lot of our decisions. But how does ChatGPT stack up when it comes to sports bets? Can this trusty AI model accurately predict sports bets? Or does it still need some refining before it can be trusted with your stake? Let’s look at what happens when you let ChatGPT pick your bets and talk about if you should advise AI before throwing down some cash on sports. Most Likely Outcomes of Letting ChatGPT Pick Your Bets I asked ChatGPT a few questions regarding the outcomes of sporting events for the upcoming week. Here are some of the answers it provided, and whether those answers were helpful or not. ChatGPT Will Tell You the Favorite One of the easiest ways to use ChatGPT to pick sports bets is to ask who is the favorite to win an event. After asking ChatGPT, “Will the Red Sox win against the Marlins tonight?” ChatGPT responded, “The Boston Red Sox are strongly favored to win their game tonight against the Miami Marlins at Fenway Park. Betting odds, statistical models, and recent trends all lean in their favor.” ChatGPT then breaks down the odds and states that BetMGM estimates a 61.8% probability that the Red Sox will win the game against the Marlins. ChatGPT Will Give You Statistical Data ChatGPT can give you statistical data that could be helpful when making prop bets. After asking ChatGPT, “How many home runs will the Boston Red Sox get tonight?” it responded with details on the weather forecast and playing conditions. It also offered recent trends, including the number of home runs the Red Sox average per game as of early July. Of course, it pulls all of this information from websites, so you could technically find this information yourself. It’s just easier when ChatGPT breaks it all down for you in one easy-to-read format. ChatGPT Will Offer Sports Betting Advice After asking ChatGPT broad questions about which teams to bet on, it responded with tips on how to choose the best sports bets. I asked ChatGPT, “What sports teams should I bet on tonight?” and it responded to look at several factors, including: Team form Head-to-head stats Injuries and suspensions Betting markets Not really the cut-and-dry response I was looking for, but the information was still broadly helpful. ChatGPT Could Spot an Underdog For my next question, I asked ChatGPT which underdogs I should bet on this week. It responded with a list of underdogs playing this week and why they might win games, despite not being the favorites. One example of a reasoning ChatGPT gave to bet on the Marlins instead of the Red Sox for the game on August 17th was, “While the Red Sox are strong favorites, Miami has been playing with some fire and could sneak a win, especially with a high-potential pitcher like Janson Junk. If Crochet has an off night, it could give the Marlins an edge.” Should You Let ChatGPT Pick Your Bets? The Verdict While no AI model can accurately predict the outcome of a sporting event, ChatGPT is a good resource to tap before placing sports bets. To use ChatGPT for sports betting, you should ask it specific questions and follow up with clarifying questions. Just understand that ChatGPT isn’t an all-knowing, all-seeing oracle that can predict the future. Yet, it’s a solid tool that could save you hours of research.]]>

<![CDATA[Did you know there are 26 casinos in Michigan? And that 13 of those casinos also offer online gambling, too? Our Michigan casino map will help you find the best Michigan online casinos as well as their land-based counterparts. No matter where you are in the great state of Michigan, you can find plenty of casino games and sports betting options. Is Gambling Legal in Michigan? Yes! Michigan legalized betting at land-based tribal casinos back in 1996. The state recently legalized online gambling in 2019. The Michigan casino map grew once this happened. Michigan casinos must abide by the laws and restrictions dictated by the Michigan Gambling Control Board. Both online and land-based casinos must confirm the age of players before accepting bets, and online casinos must verify bettors are located within state lines. Michigan Gambling Age The gambling age for Michiganders is only 18 (though you do need to be 21 to place bets at Detroit casinos, as alcohol is served in these establishments). Online Casino Laws in Michigan The laws for online casinos are different from those for land-based casinos in Michigan. To place bets online in the state of Michigan, you must be at least 21 years old. Yet, Michigan also offers some 18 and up casinos, too. As with land-based casinos, you must also be physically located within the state to place bets. Yet, since you don’t need to travel to an online casino, you’ll need to prove you’re located within state lines before placing bets. All online casinos require bettors to download geo-tracking software and confirm their identity before placing bets. If you travel outside of the state, you won’t be able to place bets on Michigan online casino sites until you return back to the state. Also, not all online casinos are legitimate online casinos. Michigan Casino Regulation Michigan casinos and online casinos are regulated by the Michigan Gaming Control Board. Michigan Casinos Vs Online Casinos Land-based casinos offer a different experience to the one you’d find at Michigan online casinos — which isn’t terribly surprising. What most gamblers don’t expect is just how good of an experience online casinos offer, despite the fact that they’re not physically located on a casino floor. Michigan casinos offer an unparalleled experience, while Michigan online casinos offer convenience and a slightly modified experience you’d get on a casino floor. Casinos in Michigan There are 26 casinos in Michigan, and many of these casinos are located on tribal lands. Detroit is home to some of the most popular and high-end casinos in the Wolverine State, but that doesn’t mean you need to travel to the Motor City to get an unparalleled gambling experience. Land-based casinos are located in every corner of Michigan, and each casino offers its own vibe, ambiance, casino games, restaurants, and entertainment. No matter where you travel in Michigan (be it Mackinaw, Detroit, St. Ignace, Christmas, and more), you’ll find a land-based casino with plenty of gaming options. Check the Michigan casino map to find the closest casinos where you can place bets within the state. Michigan Tribal Casinos All of Michigan’s casinos are owned and operated on tribal land. The first land-based casinos in Michigan were located in Detroit. Today, all Michigan online casinos and land-based casinos are owned by tribal nations. The Indian Gaming Regulatory Act of 1988 stated that since tribal nations are sovereign territories and not subject to the same state laws, tribal casinos could accept bets on their land. Michigan Online Casinos Michigan legalized online gambling in 1999. Now, there are 13 online casinos accepting bets from Michiganders. The Michigan casino map also shows which land-based casinos are connected to online casinos. To accept bets from Michiganders, online casinos must be affiliated with a land-based casino within the state. Michigan only allows for a select number of tribal casinos to hold licenses for online gambling. New casino sites are available all the time. Michigan Casino Games What types of games will you find at Michigan casinos? The same games you’ll find in any land-based casino, including ones in Las Vegas, Atlantic City, and Reno. Any good casino worth visiting will offer a selection of slot machines and table games. Table Games Some of our favorite games at casinos include table games. Popular table games at Michigan casinos include poker, blackjack, roulette, and baccarat. Slots You can’t visit a casino without stopping by the slots. Yes, it’s easy to be entranced by these one-armed beauties. But slot machines are popular for a reason. Whether you’re into penny slots or high-roller machines, these games will keep you occupied for as long (or as little) as you want. Good slot machines should offer stellar graphics, satisfying sounds, and good payouts. Some even offer free slots online. [ra:120 c] Michigan Online Casino Games The games you find at Michigan online casinos may differ slightly from the ones at land-based casinos. Since you won’t play physical in-person games, you can get a little creative with these games. Some of the most popular casino games to play online include video poker, live table games, and slots. Some even offer online casinos with free play. Also called free social casinos, these sites operate play from home sweepstakes. Video Poker Similar to table poker, video poker offers a thrill that requires both luck and skill. The concept is simpler with video poker than table poker. Win or lose with one play. This is the perfect game for those who simply do not have the patience to wait out the long game. Live Table Games Online casinos bring the magic of the casino floor right to your living room. Get as close to an in-person table game as you possibly can, from the comfort of your own home. Live table games are (as their name suggests) played live. Watch the dealer through a closed feed camera, and listen to their prompts through your device’s audio. Communicate with the dealer through the chat function. The most popular live dealer games are usually poker, blackjack online free, and roulette. Slots Online slot machines don’t differ much from the real thing. Since most slot machines are now computerized anyway, you’ll get a similar experience at home as you would on the casino floor. Many online slot machines are even the same as the ones you’d find in a casino! Enjoy high-quality graphics and sounds as you place your bets with the push of a button. Michigan Sports Betting In 2019, Michigan also legalized sports betting. Now, the state is home to 26 casinos that also accept sports bets. In the same year, the state also legalized online sports betting, and 14 online sportsbooks accept bets as well. All online sportsbooks must be linked to a land-based sportsbook and casino in Michigan. Michiganders may now place sports bets both in-person and online on major sporting events, including moneyline, parlay, and live bets. <![CDATA[We all know casino players who love to play the same games over and over, and ones who are die-hard fans of certain online casinos. But when it comes down to it, are players more loyal to a game or the brand? Let’s take a look at brand loyalty versus game loyalty and whether players are more likely to return to a specific casino than they are a particular casino game. Games Vs Brands: What’s the Difference? We can look at a brand as a casino brand or a developer brand. But for the purposes of this article, let’s consider the word “brand” meaning the casino itself. When we say “brand”, we mean “casinos”, and when we say “games”, we mean either a specific game or the game developers. Why Players Are Loyal to Brands Players are loyal to casino brands for several reasons. For one, casinos understand the importance of customer loyalty. It costs online casinos and land-based casinos more money to get players in the door than it does to keep them coming back. Here are a few reasons why players are loyal to brands. Casino Loyalty Programs: Online casinos and land-based casinos offer loyalty programs that incentivize players to stick to one platform. Many players will continue to spin the reels or play table games at one site because they want to earn those coveted rewards. Marketing and Design: We are all influenced by marketing and design. We’re more likely to play at an online casino that offers a good player experience, a well-designed website, and seamless navigation than one that only has basic offerings. Push Notifications & Marketing Emails: Push notifications and marketing emails keep us coming back for more. When we see these notifications, we can’t resist claiming our free spins or deposit bonuses; similarly, seeing a new game advertised might be too good to pass up. Exclusive Games: Most online casinos offer exclusive titles you won’t find anywhere else. These games are developed by companies that create your favorite games, so you see brand recognition at both the online casino and the game itself. [ra:151 c] Why Players Are Loyal to Games There’s no question that players are drawn to the same games over and over. When we get lucky or we are entertained, we’re more likely to return to that one game than try our luck at a new one. Here are some reasons why players are loyal to specific games. They’ve Had Good Luck With the Game Before: Most of us enjoy a handful of games we play over and over simply because we’ve won the game enough times to feel that the odds are in our favor. They Understand the Rules of the Game: Learning the rules of a new casino game costs time and money. We’re more likely to be loyal to a game if we already understand the rules and any strategies associated with the game. They Have a Firm Grasp of the Odds: It takes time to research slot machine and computer casino game odds. If we know the RTP of a game, we don’t need to waste that time looking up the odds for a different one. Are Players More Loyal to Games or Brands: The Verdict Even though a player might choose to play the same casino game over and over, most players are more loyal to brands than they are to specific games. This is because most casinos offer the most popular games or at least similar games. You don’t need to follow a game to different casinos because you’ll find your favorite games at most online casinos.]]>

<![CDATA[Sweepstakes casinos have been launching at a rapid pace over the past five years. There are more than 40 sweepstakes casinos available across the U.S. Yet, sweepstakes casinos aren’t subject to the same laws as real-money online casinos. Though these sites must follow state and federal laws, they’re not licensed by state gambling authorities. So, how do players feel about sweepstakes casinos? Do they trust these sites more than real-money casinos? Let’s break it down. Sweepstakes Casinos or Real Money Casinos: Which Is More Legit? Sweepstakes casinos and real-money casinos are both legal in the U.S., though they operate under different systems. Real-money casinos in the U.S. must be licensed by the states in which they operate and are governed by state gambling authorities; sweepstakes casinos do not need licensure, but they must abide by the sweepstakes laws of the states in which they operate. You’ll notice that sweepstakes casinos don’t operate in certain states. These states generally have stricter sweepstakes laws. Online real-money casinos can only operate in select states, most commonly New Jersey, Michigan, West Virginia, and Pennsylvania. Some states allow online casino gambling but the casinos are operated by the state. Why Players Prefer Sweepstakes Casinos Vs Real Money Casinos There are pros and cons to playing at both sweepstakes casinos and real-money casinos. A lot of players prefer real-money casinos because they can deposit, play with, and withdraw funds in USD. There’s no need to try to figure out how many Sweepstakes Coins can be redeemed for cash prizes. Yet, real-money online casinos can only operate in certain states, so many players are automatically excluded from gameplay. They also only accept players who are at least 21 years old. Sweepstakes casinos, on the other hand, can operate in more states than real-money casinos, and the minimum age to play at many of these sites is only 18 years old. These sites also offer better welcome bonuses and promotions than real-money casinos. Not very many real-money online casinos offer no-deposit welcome bonuses (only five casinos currently offer them), so a lot of players prefer sweepstakes casinos. Sweepstakes casinos also offer daily login bonuses, friend referral bonuses, and purchase bonuses. Like real-money casinos, these sites also offer good VIP programs. Of course, you can also request Free Sweeps Coins by mail at sweepstakes casinos, making these sites even more attractive. Sweepstakes Casino Vs Real Money Casino Trustworthiness A lot of players prefer real-money casinos because these sites are regulated by state gambling authorities. Just some of the features of real-money casinos that make them more trustworthy include: Licensed and Regulated by State Gambling Authorities Responsible Gambling Information/Tools Game Results Determined by RNGs Subject to Audits Secure Website & Apps Player Privacy Procedures Yet, sweepstakes casinos are also subject to rules and regulations even though they are not licensed or regulated by state gambling authorities. Here are some of the reasons players trust sweepstakes casinos: Must Abide by State Sweepstakes Laws Responsible Gaming Information/Tools Game Results Determined by RNGs Secure Website & Apps Player Privacy Procedures The Verdict: Do People Trust Sweepstakes Casinos More Than Real Money Casinos? Players may not necessarily trust sweepstakes casinos over real-money online casinos, but a lot of people prefer playing at sweepstakes casinos because there are more bonuses and promotions available. Since many of the same games are available at sweepstakes casinos as real-money casinos, players can enjoy their favorite slots, table games, live dealer games, and variety games. [ra:110 c]]]>

<![CDATA[We all understand that slots are very addictive, but does the type of slot game matter at all when it comes to how often you’re compelled to spin the reels? In short, yes. Animated slots are more addictive than classic slots, and there are a few reasons why this is true (which we’ll get into in a moment). Before we dive into the differences between animated slots and classic slots, let’s take a look at why these games are so addictive. How Addictive Are Slots? More than 2.5 million Americans struggle with a gambling addiction, and the National Institutes of Health reports that slots are believed to be the most addictive game. If this is true, we can assume that millions of Americans are addicted to slots. Why Slots Are So Addictive Slots can be more addictive than other types of casino games because they offer instant gratification (positive or negative) that can keep a player wanting more. Players only need to push a button (and in some cases don’t need to lift a finger with autoplay) to be instantly rewarded with a prize, or, at the very least, enticing animations and entertaining sounds. Which Slots Are the Most Addictive? Video slots are by far the most addictive machines available. In the following sections, we’ll discuss what makes these slot machines more addictive than their classical counterparts. 3 Reasons Why Animated Slots Are More Addictive Than Classic Reels 1. Animated Slots Are Entertaining Spinning the reels of an animated slot machine is akin to playing a video game. When you play these slot games, you’ll experience animations, special effects, and complex soundtracks. Sometimes players want to keep spinning just to see what happens next. It’s easier to get addicted to animated slots because they offer higher entertainment value than classic ones. 2. Video Slots Offer More Features The main feature of classic slot machines is the wild symbol. But that’s basically the beginning and the end of special features on these machines. Video slots offer lots of special features, including wild symbols, free spins, bonus rounds, expanding reels, cascading reels, and transforming symbols. Essentially, these types of slots make you feel like there are more ways to win. While these features can offer more ways to win, they won’t change the game's return-to-player percentage (RTP) or how much the game pays out for each dollar played. 3. Video Slot Themes Are Better Newer slot machines are usually video slots. With these new machines, you get tons of marketing. Some of the themes of newer games include: The Goonies AC/DC Game of Thrones The Sopranos Jimi Hendrix You may be more likely to keep playing simply because you’re enjoying the nostalgic elements, soundtracks, and animations. <![CDATA[The 2023 NFL Draft is almost here (Thursday, April 27 through Saturday, April 29) and you can get tons of information here. But what I’m here to inform you about today is, which players are speculated to be among the top 10 selections. It’s not anybody’s guess. Oddsmakers take this betting stuff seriously and post many NFL Draft wagering options. DraftKings Sportsbook, one of our favorite sites, along with many other great gambling companies in the U.S., including BetMGM and more, has its latest odds. I’ve already written about whether former Georgia standout Jalen Carter should be a top-10 pick. That’s an absolute lock at this point because he will be. A couple of weeks ago, there was this from his agent Drew Rosenhaus who told ESPN's Adam Schefter: “I'm confident Jalen will go in the top 10. He's a good person, a family man, loves football and is a generational talent.” Before we move on, let’s look at what DK has listed: 2023 NFL Draft Top 10 Jalen Carter -2500 OK, so that’s a given for Jalen. Likely the Seahawks (fifth pick) or Lions (sixth pick) take him. Obviously, they’re not even listing quarterbacks Bryce Young – I’ve said since March he’s going No. 1 overall – or C.J. Stroud (who’ll go No. 2 to some team; could be a trade), because, c’mon? That’s silly, meaning why even list them? I’m also skipping these top-10 givens: Tyree Wilson (-1000), Anthony Richardson (-1000), and Will Levis (-500, although his post-combine interviews didn’t go well, but that could just be typical pre-Draft bluster.) But the rest of the betting board is interesting. Here are the two best bets to make and they’re both offensive linemen. NFL teams have become increasingly aware of how valuable it is to have a big bad-ass anchor on the offensive line for their franchise quarterbacks. Paris Johnson Jr., Ohio State, OT (+100) The Bears appear to be locked in on PJJ because they desperately need more help to protect emerging star QB Justin Fields, who knows Johnson from his playing days with the Buckeyes. It also doesn’t hurt that Paris is being compared to another former OSU stud: NFL Hall of Fame offensive tackle Orlando Pace. There’s some symmetry here, folks. Peter Skoronski, Northwestern, OT (-125) Chicago currently sits at No. 9 in the first round and if they don’t take Johnson Jr. I’m betting they go with this local kid, who had the highest pass-blocking grade in college football last year (93.0) per Pro Football Focus (PFF). Plus, can’t you just see Skoronski’s name on a jersey for Da Bears? Yes. Yes, you can.]]>

<![CDATA[Most lottery players opt for quick-pick tickets or lotto tickets with computer-generated numbers. Yet, we all know those players who swear by choosing their own lottery numbers. Hey, we’ve even seen them on TV if they win, claiming their lucky numbers are to thank for the cash. But which types of lotto tickets win more? Let’s look at the data. Why Do People Opt for Quick Picks? Most players prefer quick picks as opposed to hand-picked lottery numbers because they’re easier and faster to purchase. In fact, it’s estimated that nearly 80% of lottery players opt for quick picks. If you use the same hand-picked number every time you purchase a lottery ticket, you probably don’t need to spend a lot of time coming up with your own numbers; however, it still takes more time for the cashier to enter hand-picked numbers than it does for the system to generate a quick-pick ticket. Why Do People Prefer Hand-Picking Lotto Numbers? Only about 20% to 30% of lottery players hand-pick their own numbers. Yet, even though this method is more time-consuming, some players swear by it. Why do some people prefer to pick their own lottery numbers? Simply because they believe they have more control over the outcome. Hand-picking lotto numbers is a type of gambling superstition. Some players choose their children's birthday, lucky numbers, or sequences of numbers. Although players may believe that they have more control over hand-picked ticket outcomes, logically, this isn’t true. Do Quick Picks or Hand-Picked Lottery Numbers Win More? More quick-pick tickets win than tickets with hand-picked numbers. This is simply because more players purchase quick-picks. The lottery is a numbers game (literally), so the highest number of people who choose one ticket type over the other are going to be more likely to win. At the end of the day, picking your own lottery numbers may not help your chances of winning, but doing so may offer the illusion that your odds of choosing the right numbers are in your favor. <![CDATA[Now that there are more than 40 sweepstakes casinos available, there’s never been a better time to play online casino games. Well, some people take this statement to heart because they’ll whip out their phones and start playing regardless of whether they’re in the car, chilling in the ocean, or… even in the bathroom. Here are some of the weirdest places people have admitted to playing sweepstakes games. In the Pool/the Ocean Players gravitate toward sweepstakes games when they want to relax, so it makes sense that they might play them when relaxing in the water. Yet, playing sweepstakes games on a device that isn’t waterproof could be a little dicey. If you have a waterproof case for your phone or tablet, we’d say to go ahead, relax, and get your game on. Yet, you might want to save your gaming for when you’re sticking to the shallow end (or chilling at a swim-up bar). In the Car/On a Train We truly hope the Reddit OP who mentioned playing sweepstakes games in the car wasn’t the one driving! But it makes sense to kill some time playing games while waiting in the CVS parking lot for your prescription to be filled. Similarly, it also makes sense that you might pass the time on a long train ride or metro ride by playing sweepstakes casino games. Just make sure you don’t happen to drive through a state where gameplay is banned by the online casino. In the Bathroom O.K., a lot of people use their phones when they’re in the bathroom at work or at home, so it makes sense that people might also use this time to play sweepstakes casino games. If you’re playing at work, the bathroom might be the only place where curious eyes aren’t watching you when you play. Just do everyone a favor and give your device a little swipe with an antibacterial wipe after. In a Cemetery Yes, this one weirded us out a little bit, too. One Reddit user admitted to playing sweepstakes casino games in a cemetery. We’re going to suspend our disbelief for a moment and assume that maybe the OP was giving someone a lift to visit a dearly departed loved one and decided to spend that time waiting by playing sweepstakes casino games? We’re not 100% certain that we want to know the answer to that question, but you can easily see why this one made it on our list of weirdest places to play sweepstakes casino games. At a… Casino O.K., this one really takes the cake. One Reddit OP admitted to playing sweepstakes casino games on his phone while sitting on a bench outside a casino on a smoke break. We have no idea if the person worked at the casino and was, therefore, possibly banned from playing casino games. Or, maybe they live in a state where they can’t legally smoke inside the casino (which would make sense because sweepstakes casinos often don’t operate in Nevada, where you can light up a cig indoors). Either way, to each their own. We’re not here to judge. [ra:146 c]]]>

<![CDATA[The Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards reports that one-third of lottery winners not only lose their winnings – but they end up declaring bankruptcy in fewer than five years after winning. Why are lottery winners more likely to lose all their money than the rest of us? Let’s look at the top lottery winners who lost it all, why lottery winners are more likely to file for bankruptcy, and what we can learn from their mistakes. Why Lottery Winners Lose All Their Money There are a lot of reasons why lottery winners are more likely to lose money than the rest of us. And most lottery winners who lose it all don’t go broke for the same reasons. The top reasons why winners lose their winnings include: Spending above their means Giving/loaning money to friends and family Failing to budget for taxes Falling victim to fraud Feelings of loneliness/guilt because of their winnings Poor financial planning Lottery Winners Who Lost It All Callie Rogers: At only 16 years old, Rogers was the youngest person to win the lottery in Britain. Yet, she lost more than $2 million after quitting her job and spending all of her winnings. Lara and Roger Griffiths: Won over $2 million but ended up losing their winnings because their house caught fire, and they needed to pay for repairs. Suzanne Mullins: Struggled to pay her son’s medical debt with the more than $4 million she won playing the lottery. Sometimes lottery winners don’t “make bad choices;” they simply are susceptible to bad luck, too. What Can We Learn From This? If you’re lucky enough to win the lottery, you’ll want to learn from these mistakes. And every winner is different. Good financial planning doesn’t look the same for everyone. Yet, experts agree that winners should follow a few tips before spending their winnings, including: Using winnings to pay off debt Budgeting large expenses Setting boundaries with friends and family Giving themselves an “allowance” Hiring a financial planner Setting aside money for retirement Since many lottery winners overspend because they aren’t prepared for the possible loneliness of suddenly jumping up several tax brackets, experts also suggest investing in mental healthcare services. You may also want to consider focusing on purchases that truly increase your happiness, instead of simply spending money just because you can. [ra:140 c]]]>

<![CDATA[Technically, Sweeps Coins have no real-world value because you have to play them before you can redeem them for prizes. But once you’ve played your Sweepstakes Coins enough times to clear playthrough requirements and won the minimum number to trigger a redemption, you can redeem them for cash prizes or gift cards. How Much Is a Sweepstakes Coin Worth? For the most part, a Sweepstakes Coin can be redeemed at a rate of 1 SC to $1. But at some sweepstakes casinos, Sweeps Coins hold different values. For example, Fortune Coins offers 1,400 Free Fortune Coins (its branded version of Sweepstakes Coins) as its no-deposit signup bonus. But here, you won’t be able to redeem 1,400 FC for $1,400; instead, 1,400 FC can be redeemed for $14, once you’ve played them once and won a minimum number of them to trigger a redemption. So, in this case, the value of 100 FC is similar to the value of 1 SC at other sweepstakes casinos. Can I Redeem Sweeps Coins for Cash Prizes? Yes, once you’ve won a minimum number of Sweeps Coins and cleared playthrough requirements, you can redeem them for prizes. Each sweepstakes casino has different redemption requirements, so check sweepstakes rules before signing up. What Other Factors Affect a Sweeps Coin’s Value? Getting Free Sweeps Coins is just the first step in redeeming them. Before you can initiate a redemption, you’ll need to play your Sweepstakes Coins – and the games you play matter. The results of computer-based casino games, such as slot machines and table games, are all determined by return-to-player percentages (RTPs) and random number generators (RNGs). When you play a slot machine with an RTP of 97%, you have better chances of winning than if you played one with a 96% RTP. Play games with high RTPs for better chances of winning enough Sweepstakes Coins to meet the minimum redemption threshold. [ra:137 c]]]>

<![CDATA[We all have our lucky rituals that we believe will bring us good fortune – or at least repel bad luck! Yet some slots players have a few… stranger rituals they follow before they hit the casino floor. Whether or not these rituals actually work, a lot of players swear by them. Let’s look at some of the strange rituals people follow when playing their favorite slots. We’ll also consider a few “rituals” that might actually help you more! Top 7 Strange Slot Machine Rituals In no particular order, here are some of the most common strange slot machine rituals. 1. Crossing Your Fingers Some players cross their fingers or tap their toes before making a spin because they believe these rituals will lead to big payouts! 2. Wearing Lucky Charms A lot of slot players wear their lucky charms or bring “lucky” items to casinos. At-home players may keep these items nearby. 3. Spinning With Your Non-Dominant Hand Some players believe spinning the reels with their non-dominant hand will increase their odds of winning. Sorry, ambidextrous players! 4. Timing Spins Though there’s no real data to support the idea that timing spins can lead to better payouts, a lot of players spin the reels a certain number of times or keep track of the time between spins. 5. Wearing Lucky Clothing We all have that lucky hat or t-shirt that has brought us good fortune in the past. Plenty of players wear these items at casinos or while playing online casino games. 6. Spinning a Lucky Number of Times Everyone has a lucky number, be it a birthday or a special number we find to be extra fortuitous. Lots of slots players spin the reels a certain number of times before taking a break. 7. Playing Previously Lucky Games Many players gravitate toward the same games over and over at casinos. If we’ve had good fortune with a game in the past, we’re more likely to play it again. Slots Rituals That Actually Work Even though most slot rituals are just superstition, there are a few tips you can use to hopefully maximize your chances at winning at slots. Play High RTP Games Play games with high return-to-player percentages (RTPs) for better odds of winning. The higher the RTP, the more the game is designed to pay out winnings. Opt for Games With Lots of Features Get to know each slot game's special features, including expanding reels, wilds, bonus rounds, free spins, and more. Using these features wisely could potentially lead to better payouts. Use Bonuses and Promotions Wisely Who doesn’t love free spins? Use bonuses and promotions to get free slot machine spins. Just be sure to check the terms and conditions of bonuses to ensure you can cash out your winnings. [ra:44 c]]]>

<![CDATA[Scratch lottery tickets (or scratchers as they’re commonly referred) are wildly popular in every state where lottery sales are legal. According to NPR, Americans spend more than $1,037 every year on lottery tickets. So, why are these games so popular? And why do many Americans choose scratch tickets over playing slots? Why Do People Choose Scratchers Over Slots? Players choose scratchers over slots mostly because scratch tickets are pretty easy to purchase. You can buy scratch tickets at most convenience stores, gas stations, and grocery stores. Scratch cards are extremely gratifying to play because you get to scratch off the coating and see if you’ve won a prize! The rules are simple to understand (you can’t really mess up when you’re scratching most lottery tickets, just scratch and see your results). Plus, the proceeds of lottery sales generally fund government programs, such as education. Why Should You Choose Slots Over Scratchers? Like scratch tickets, slot games are convenient. You can play slots at real-money online casinos, sweepstakes casinos, and at land-based casinos (though the latter is a little less convenient than playing slots online). The rules are very simple to follow: just choose how much you’d like to bet and spin the reels. Some slot games offer complex features, such as wilds, expanding wilds, cascading reels, and bonus rounds. Despite the complexity of these features, you don’t need to do any heavy lifting. The game will calculate your wins. All you need to do is sit back, relax, and keep spinning. One of the biggest reasons that slots are better than scratchers is that it’s easier to find out the odds of a slot game. State lotteries post the odds of winning scratch tickets, but this information isn’t available at the time of sale, and lottery odds tables can be confusing to read. Yet, the odds of slot games, which are called return-to-player percentages (RTPs) are readily available online. Slot games also offer better odds: most slots offer RTPs of 96% and above, meaning that the game will pay out $0.96 on every $1 played over time. Scratchers only offer odds of winning are 1 in 100,000 for every 10 tickets purchased. So, Which Should I Play? Scratchers or Slots? We happen to love both here at OddsSeeker, but we are partial to the convenience and better odds of winning when playing slots. [ra:29 c]]]>

<![CDATA[We all know that casinos trick our brains into playing longer or choosing games with less than favorable odds. Yet, are you aware of all the ways in which online casinos tap into your psychology to encourage you to visit their sites and keep you online as long as possible? 8 Ways Casino Websites Trick Your Brain Here are eight ways casinos trick your brain, enticing you to play – or, to keep you playing longer. How many can you spot the next time you visit your favorite online casino? 1. Website Designs Meant to Keep You Playing Online casino websites are designed similarly to casino floors; they’re meant to keep your interest and help you forget about the outside world. In theory, we play at casinos to “take a break” from our everyday lives. Yet, too much of a good thing is never… well, a good thing! Set playtime checks if you want to avoid falling into the online casino version of a scroll hole. 2. Entertaining Animations & Effects You’ll notice that even on title card images, games offer animations and special effects. And that’s before you even launch the game! Once you launch a game, you’ll find that many games – slots in particular – offer effects and animations that are similar to the ones you’d find in video games. 3. Jackpot Slot Tickers Once you enter the online casino lobby, you’ll find that games are organized by category. At the top of the page is usually a section containing jackpot slots. On most of these title card images, you’ll see a ticker that shows the size of the prize pot. These are created to entice you to play. If you see a jackpot in the thousands or tens of thousands, you’re more likely to try your luck on that slot game. 4. Bonus & Free Spin Banners At the very top of the casino lobby, you’ll find the casino’s current promotions, including any free spins, jackpots, exclusive games, and welcome bonuses. These banners are strategically placed to entice players to sign up for an account or deposit funds into their casino account. 5. Social Features Some online casinos offer social features, such as chat apps that allow you to communicate with other players, including friends and family. These social features can keep you on the sites for longer periods of time than you might have stayed otherwise. 6. Celebrity Endorsements Online casinos have been using big-name celebrity spokespeople to market their sites. When we see these celebrities we know and love, we might feel compelled to sign up for an account or stay online playing longer. 7. Email & Text Marketing Many online casinos offer the option to sign up for email and text marketing (many require you to opt out of these communications by unchecking a box). If you haven’t played at the casino in a while, you might get an email or text message for a special promotion or a little note advertising a new slot machine or feature. While these aren’t technically part of the casino’s website, they are still a part of the marketing and communications strategy. 8. Pop Culture Crossovers You’ll definitely see themed slot machines at pretty much every online casino. Slot themes include Game of Thrones, The Goonies, Jimi Hendrix, Motley Crue, and more. These games can trigger nostalgia and are very entertaining overall. The more you’re entertained by a slot machine, the more likely you are to stick around and play longer. [ra:143 c]]]>

<![CDATA[There are two different types of fine print when it comes to sweepstakes: the terms and conditions and the sweepstakes rules. Sweepstakes rules are the general terms of gameplay at sweepstakes casinos or in any sweepstakes game. These are essentially the rules you need to abide by when playing sweepstakes. Sweepstakes casinos post these rules so you know how the site works and the basic rules of gameplay, such as how old you need to be to play, the restricted states, and how the mechanics of Sweepstakes Coins work. The terms and conditions are the nitty-gritty fine print. Yes, the sweepstakes rules are generally printed in the terms and conditions; however, the T&Cs are simply the legal contract you must abide by before playing sweepstakes (or sometimes when you log into a site and the terms have changed). Why People Don’t Read Terms and Conditions for Sweepstakes The main reason people don’t read the terms and conditions for sweepstakes – whether it’s for a sweepstakes game or at a sweepstakes casino – is that these documents are long and daunting because they’re filled with legalese. Most people believe they wouldn’t be able to understand the legal jargon of the terms and conditions of any site, so they usually just skip over it altogether. [ra:46 c] Do Sweepstakes Casino Players Read Terms and Conditions? Not all sweepstakes casino players read the terms and conditions – but some definitely do. Sweepstakes casino players understand that pertinent information, such as the minimum number of Sweepstakes Coins you need to win to redeem them for cash prizes and playthrough requirements, is often printed in the terms and conditions. Players who don’t want to be saddled with 10x playthrough requirements (or who have been burned at less-than-legit sweepstakes casinos) will know to read the terms and conditions of each site before playing. Should I Read the Terms and Conditions of Sweepstakes? The simplest answer is yes. <![CDATA[Even the most pragmatic bettors get a little superstitious from time to time. Even though we know it won’t logically affect the outcome of a sporting event, we still wear our lucky jerseys, pretend our bets are doomed to lose, or pray to a higher power that we’ll win. Let’s take a look at the most common sports betting superstitions and discuss a few tips that can actually make or break a winning wager. Top 7 Sports Betting Superstitions Here are the top seven sports betting superstitions (in no particular order). How many of the rituals bettors swear by do you find yourself practicing before the big game? 1. Using Lucky Charms & Numbers Many sports bettors use lucky charms and lucky numbers to “increase” their likelihood of winning. They might carry a lucky medallion, such as a rabbit’s foot or a lucky coin. They might also bet on “lucky number” days, such as a birthday or anniversary, or bet a lucky number of dollars. Some sports bettors even go so far as to bet on players based on their numbers. 2. Wearing Lucky Clothing We all have that lucky jersey or t-shirt we were wearing when our team made an impressive pass or scored the winning goal. But some bettors take things a little further, including wearing lucky socks or even refusing to wash their lucky clothing. 3. Avoiding Winner Speak Some bettors believe it is unlucky to claim they will win a bet before the event has taken place. They think this type of behavior might jinx them, so they play it cool. 4. Manifesting Positive Outcomes On the other hand, some bettors believe the opposite, or that they need to only speak positively about their bets to manifest positive outcomes. These bettors might even use visualization techniques to view positive outcomes before they happen. 5. Practicing Rituals Some bettors believe that if they complete rituals before placing their bets, they can increase the likelihood of a positive outcome. These rituals could include toe tapping, performing certain tasks before a game, or using a combination of the superstitions on this list. 6. Prayer to Higher Powers Is praying considered superstitious? Most of us have prayed for positive outcomes in good times and bad times. The most common superstitious betting behavior is praying to a higher power that a bet will win. 7. Practicing Compulsive Behaviors Let’s be honest: most of the betting superstitions on this list are compulsive behaviors. Believing that you have the power to control an outcome based on actions that have no power over said outcome is considered compulsive. Yet, wearing your lucky suit to a job interview might give you the confidence you need to land the new position. Couldn’t employing some of these superstitions relax your mind enough to allow you to make better decisions when wagering? Maybe. Sports Betting Strategies That Actually Work All of the above betting superstitions are just that: superstitions. Wearing your lucky socks won’t make the Rangers play better on the ice, though doing so might make you feel better as you’re watching the game. If you want to be a better bettor, here are some sports betting strategies that supersede superstition. Researching Teams & Players Research is the no. 1 tool in your sports betting box to help you make better decisions at the window. Do a little digging to find the favorites and possibly profitable underdogs. Research which players perform better on tennis surfaces, which drivers perform better on certain tracks, and which players are suffering from injuries. Creating a Betting Budget Determine how much money you can afford to lose on a bet and stick to your budget. Don’t bet more than you can afford, and avoid chasing losses. Finding Profitable Lines Research the odds at different sportsbooks to find the best prices. Check out the lines when they’re published and when the event starts; after the event, see how you did and try to learn from any mistakes. Betting With Your Brain Of course, we want our favorite teams and players to win, but betting with the heart can lead to heartbreak. If you’re too emotional over the outcome of a bet, there’s a greater chance you’ll lose. Do your research and try to find the best bets at the best prices. [ra:37 c]]]>

<![CDATA[Decades ago, you could safely say that the line between sports and betting was a bit thicker than it is today. Yet, these days, you can’t watch a live sporting event without seeing an ad for DraftKings or FanDuel. Sports fans are more interested in betting now than ever before. So, is it possible to be a sports fan without betting? The short answer is yes. Obviously, there are plenty of sports fans who never visit the betting window. Let’s take a look at how many Americans are sports fans, how many of us enjoy wagering on sports, and the reasons why more fans are not bettors. How Many Sports Fans Are in the US? Polls show that there are 180 million sports fans in the U.S. who are at least 18 years old. Obviously, many of these fans are not legally allowed to bet on sports due to age restrictions. Yet, the largest sports fan bloc in the country falls in the 35 to 44 age bracket, where 37% of people call themselves sports fans and only 18% have no interest in sports. How Many People Bet on Sports in the US? 34 million Americans bet on sports in the U.S. in 2023 alone. That’s more than five times the number of sports fans. Still, gambling and the sports industry have become tied in ways we might not have thought possible a decade ago. Reasons Viewers Become Sports Fans There are plenty of reasons to love sports, especially in the U.S. Many of the world’s top athletes compete or were born in the country. But why do we have so many die-hard fans stateside? Let’s look at a few reasons why Americans love to love sports. They’ve Inherited a Team In the U.S., sports are akin to religion and politics; you inherit your family’s team when you’re born. And though you may deviate from that team as an adult, there’s always a sense of nostalgia and camaraderie when they return home. They Crave Social Connections Watching sports at home or in the stadium is a way to make social connections. We’ve seen groups of people who would otherwise not socialize come together to celebrate their favorite sports team. They Need a Break Like any hobby, watching sports offers an escape from the day-to-day. For 90 minutes of a soccer match or eight innings of a baseball game, you can forget about your troubles. Plus, it’s never a bad feeling when your team wins. Why Would a Sports Fan Choose Not to Become a Bettor? Sports and betting have become inevitably linked, especially in the past few years. So, why isn’t every fan a bettor? Let’s take a look at why so many sports fans opt out of making wagers. Age/Location Restrictions In the U.S., many states restrict sports betting by age and location. Most states set the minimum age to place sports bets at 21 years old. In other states, you only need to be 18 or 19 to bet on sports. In some states, all sports betting is illegal. Gambling Addiction The National Council on Problem Gambling reports that 2.5 million Americans suffer from gambling addictions. Many of these people opt out of gambling because doing so could be detrimental. Not Interested in Gambling Some Americans simply are not interested in gambling. It’s totally okay to be a sports fan and opt out of betting on sports. Religious or Cultural Restrictions Some religions and cultures frown upon gambling, and there’s definitely a stigma associated with gambling, so sports fans who fall into these groups may decide not to opt out of wagering.]]>

<![CDATA[We’ve all gotten those emails advertising limited-time deposit bonuses or purchase promos. You only have 30 minutes to take advantage of this limited-time offer, and the countdown timer has already started. Unfortunately, quickly-made decisions are rarely the best ones. Let’s talk about how online casinos use countdown timers to convince you to make a purchase and how you can determine if you’re really about to miss out. How Countdown Timers Change Your Behavior Countdown timers are used by marketers to encourage people to make purchases. These marketing tactics are used heavily by the online casino industry, especially. Just some of the countdown timers you might see at online casinos could include first-purchase promos, happy hour promotions, or seasonal deals. You might also notice that online casino bonuses expire. You only have around two weeks to use your bonus funds, so you’ll need to make your bets ASAP if you don’t want your bonus raked back. Let’s discuss the effect countdown timers have on your nervous system and your decision-making process. They Can Make Time Seem Longer or Shorter When we’re watching a clock or a timer, our brains may believe that time lengthens or shortens. If we’re watching a timer because we want time to pass, those hours, minutes, or seconds may seem like an eternity; on the other hand, if we want more time to complete a task (like making a purchase), we might feel as though we have less time on our hands. They Create a Sense of Urgency Because you only have a set amount of time to make a decision, your body’s response to countdown timers is similar to the response a deer might have when running from a predator. Regardless of whether you want time to pass or you crave more time to make a decision, countdown timers create a sense of urgency: act now because if you hesitate, you’ll miss out. They Might Make Your Decisions Rash Because your brain is in a state of urgency, you might not make the same decision you would have made if you had all the time in the world. Let’s say you get an email from an online casino informing you of a limited-time promotion. You only have 30 minutes to decide if you want to save 50% on your first purchase of Gold Coins with a bonus of even more Sweepstakes Coins, and your brain becomes frantic. You might go ahead and make that purchase because you don’t have time to actually think about whether or not you even want those Gold Coins and bonus Sweeps Coins. Because you’re in a heightened state of mind, you might make the purchase, whereas you would have maybe thought about the purchase if you’d had more time. On the other hand, you might decide that a 50% discount isn’t worth the stress of making a snap decision, so you delete the email altogether. They Lead to Decisions You Wouldn’t Otherwise Make Countdown timers are used by casino marketing professionals to convince you to make a purchase. These experts understand the psychology behind clicking that “buy” button and use countdown clocks as a tactic to get players to pull the trigger on a purchase. The bottom line? Take a breather to decide if you really want to take advantage of that limited-time deal. Ask yourself if, given more time, you would have made the same decision. [ra:88 c]]]>

<![CDATA[Sweepstakes casinos have become a multi-billion-dollar industry. There are currently more than 40 sweepstakes casinos and social sportsbooks on the market. These free-to-play sites offer casino games played with Gold Coins and Sweepstakes Coins instead of “real” money. So, how do sweepstakes casinos rake in so much money? Let’s take a look at the sweepstakes casino business model and determine if you’re spending more than you think. How Much Do Players Spend at Sweepstakes Casinos? The marketing company Optimove reported that players spend over $200 a month at sweepstakes casinos. This amount is much lower than the average real-money casino deposit (over $800), yet it’s no small chunk of change. According to Forbes, more than 11 million Americans play at sweepstakes casinos. So, what’s the deal? If sweepstakes casinos market themselves as “freeplay” sites, how do they make so much revenue? How the Sweepstakes Casino Business Model Works Sweepstakes casinos make money from Gold Coin purchases. These coins cannot be redeemed for prizes but can be used in gameplay. When you play with Sweepstakes Coins, on the other hand, you get the chance to redeem your SC winnings for cash prizes or gift card prizes. Because Sweeps Coins can be obtained for free, there’s no way for sites to make money off these coins; however, since players might be incentivized to make a Gold Coins purchase because they’ll get a bonus of Free Sweeps Coins. This can drive up the sale of Gold Coins. Tips for Keeping Track of Sweepstakes Casino Purchases If you’re one of the players spending more than $200 a month on Gold Coins without even realizing it, you might want to consider keeping track of your spending. Here are a few tips to ensure you’re not spending more than you think at sweepstakes casinos. Take Advantage of Bonuses Sweepstakes casinos offer no-deposit welcome bonuses, and you can redeem these bonuses at as many sites as you’d like (just don’t create dupe accounts to get more than one bonus at each site). You can also claim daily login bonuses and request Sweepstakes Coins for free by mail. Use Player Safety Tools Use player safety tools like Gold Coin purchase limits and time checks to ensure you’re not spending too much time or money at sweepstakes casinos. You can also self-exclude, close your account, or opt out of marketing emails (if you’re too tempted to make a Gold Coin purchase because of email marketing). Create a Gold Coins Budget Decide how much you want to spend on Gold Coins each day, week, or month, and stick to your budget. Each time you make a Gold Coins purchase, log the transaction in a spreadsheet. Or, use a spending tracking app to keep an eye on your purchases. This can help you keep your purchases within your budget and ensure you don’t end up spending more than you think at sweepstakes casinos. [ra:111 c]]]>

<![CDATA[Sports betting has reached an all-time high in 2025, with Americans betting more this year than ever before. But where are the biggest sports betting locations? Let’s look at the top five states for sports wagers in the U.S. and the teams that have converted state residents into loyal fans. New York - $22.7 Billion New York is home to several nationally recognizable major league sports teams, including the Yankees, the Mets, the Knicks, the Nets, the Rangers, and the Islanders. Less popular teams include the Buffalo Sabers (hockey) and the New York City FC. So, it’s no wonder that New York State is the no. 1 sports betting state in the country in 2025, already raking in a cool $22.7 billion on sports wagers. New York is also home to plenty of colleges, so college sports are also popular; however, New York restricts gambling on college teams within the state. Illinois - $14 Billion Illinois comes in at second place on this list with a handle of $14 billion pulled in so far by sports betting in the state. Since the Prairie State is home to six major league teams, including a few teams recognized around the country, we’re not surprised. The most popular major league sports teams in Illinois include the Chicago Cubs, the White Sox, the Bears, and the Bulls. The state is also the home of 51 college sports teams; however, Illinois doesn’t allow betting on sporting events featuring college teams within the state. New Jersey - $12.8 Billion Another big sports betting state is New Jersey, coming in at no. 3 on this list, as it has already pulled in $12.8 billion so far in 2025. The Garden State is home to the Giants, the Jets, the Red Bulls, and the New Jersey Devils. New Jersey is also home to 50 NCAA Division I college sports teams, yet betting on New Jersey teams is not allowed within the state. Ohio - $8.8 Billion Even though Ohio doesn’t have the huge major league draw that other states on this list offer, it comes in at no. 4, as Ohioans have spent $8.8 billion so far betting on sports. Ohio is home to eight major league teams, including the Browns, the Reds, and the Bengals. On the college side, 13 teams play in Ohio. While the state doesn’t allow player props bets on collegiate teams, Ohioans are allowed to place other college bets, including ones on Ohio teams. Pennsylvania - $8.4 Billion In last place on our list of the states that bet the most on sports in 2025 is Pennsylvania. Keystone States residents are very passionate about their local sports teams, specifically the Eagles, the Phillies, the Steelers, and the Flyers. So we’re not terribly surprised by Pennsylvania being on this list – we only thought they’d be a bit higher. The state is also home to 119 NCAA Division I teams, so there are plenty of events to wager on in Pennsylvania. While residents cannot make player props on the collegiate level, they are allowed to make other bets on in-state college teams.]]>

<![CDATA[Chasing coins is the sweepstakes casino equivalent of chasing wins or losses at real-money casinos. Even though you don’t play for real money at sweepstakes casinos, you can still fall prey to problem gameplay. Let’s discuss some of the signs you might be chasing coins and how to play safely at sweepstakes casinos. Chasing Losses Vs Chasing Wins Chasing wins is when you continue to play long after you’ve planned to when you’re winning. The high of winning gets to you, and you don’t want to lose the momentum. Chasing losses is when you continue to play when you’re on a losing streak. You might feel that since you’ve lost so often, a win is surely around the corner. Or, you might feel as though you can “win back” what you’ve lost if you continue to play. Signs You’re Chasing Coins If you find yourself playing more when you’re up or down, failing to stick to your limits, spending more than you can afford on Gold Coins, or making deals with yourself that you’ll stop playing when you lose or win a certain amount, you may be chasing coins. You Play More When You’re Up or Down If your gaming habits revolve around winning or losing, you might be chasing coins. This often occurs when you keep playing to achieve a desired outcome – even after the gameplay isn’t fun anymore. You Don’t Stick to Your Limits Every social gamer should create their own Gold Coins budget and set time limits for gameplay. If you continue to play past the time limit you’ve set or if you spend more on Gold Coins than you budgeted for, you may be chasing coins. You Spend More on Gold Coins One of the biggest signs that you’re chasing coins is if you spend more on Gold Coins than your budget allows. It’s important to always keep track of how much you spend at sweepstakes casinos and to create a budget for Gold Coin purchases. You Tell Yourself You’ll Stop Playing “When” If you want to play responsibly, only play for fun – not for a desired outcome. You cannot control the outcome of a slot machine spin; you can only control your own habits. Set time limits for gameplay if you find yourself playing for longer than you want to. Telling yourself that you’ll stop playing “when you win a certain number of coins” or “when you win just one spin” can lead to chasing coins. Tips for Responsible Social Gameplay If you’re worried you’re chasing coins, here are a few tips to pay responsibly at sweepstakes casinos. Take Advantage of Bonuses Even though “free” gameplay isn’t necessarily less risky than games played with Gold Coins you’ve purchased, you should still try to get as many Gold Coins and Sweepstakes Coins for free as possible. Welcome bonuses, daily login bonuses, and other no-deposit promotions can help you increase your account balance without emptying your wallet. Set a Budget for Gold Coins Decide how much you can afford to spend on Gold Coins on a daily, weekly, or monthly basis. Stick to that limit even if you feel you can recoup losses or if you’re on a winning streak. Use Player Safety Tools Legit sweepstakes casinos always offer player safety tools. At a minimum, they offer account closure or self-exclusion. Yet, many also offer time limits, breaks, and purchase limits. Take advantage of these tools if you feel that your gameplay is getting out of hand. [ra:148 c]]]>

<![CDATA[We all know that the house always wins when it comes to casino games. So, what makes a game feel fair to players even when we know the odds aren’t in our favor? It all comes down to cognitive behavioral psychology. Our brains are wired to chase wins and avoid losses. When we win, we want to believe we had some control over it; when we lose, we believe we should have “known better.” Let’s break down how the results of casino games are determined and what makes a game feel fair, even if it has unlucky odds. How Are the Results of Casino Games Determined? Casino game results are determined by algorithms programmed into each computer-based game, including random number generators (RNGs), return-to-player percentages (RTPs), and volatility. Random Number Generators All computer-based casino games use random number generators to determine the results of games (wins or losses). When you win or lose a slot machine spin, those results have already been predetermined long before you even hit the spin button. Return-to-Player Percentages All slot machines have a return-to-player percentage that determines how much money a game will pay out over time. If a slot machine has a 98% RTP, it will pay out $0.98 on the dollar over time. This means that the house always wins on this game because, over time, it will rake in $0.02 for every spin made. The higher the RTP, the better your chances of winning. But because RTP is the amount of money the machine awards over time, it doesn’t mean you’ll only lose $0.02 for every $1 you play; you could be the lucky winner or unlucky loser. Game Volatility A game’s volatility refers to the size and frequency of wins. A game with a low volatility will award low wins more often, while a game with high volatility will award big ones less often. All of these factors contribute to the odds of winning. [ra:142 c] What Makes Casino Games Feel Fair? We all know that casino game results are determined by algorithms, and we know that the house always wins, right? Technically, yes, on a logical level. Yet, many of us believe that wins and losses are often driven by other factors, including luck and superstition. Here are a few reasons why we believe a casino game feels fair – even if it’s not. Special Features A lot of players gravitate toward games with special features (particularly slot games), including cascading reels, bonus rounds, free spins, transforming symbols, wild symbols, and more. These games make you feel as though you’re winning more because they offer more chances to win. They especially add to the illusion of more frequent wins because players think about how they could have lost a spin without these features. Previous Wins When someone wins a lot on a game (even on a game with a low RTP), they remember those wins more than the losses. Our brains may want to remember past events more favorably than they actually happened, leading to cognitive bias. High-Risk, High-Reward Mentality A lot of gamblers have a high-risk, high-reward mentality. Essentially, this is when we believe that nothing good ever happens without an equal risk that precedes it. When we win big, we think to ourselves, I’m being rewarded for taking a big risk! Of course, we also blame ourselves (not the game’s algorithm) when we lose. Casino Bonuses When we accept casino bonuses, we think of those bonus funds as “free money.” But of course, nothing is truly “free.” Losing casino bonus funds doesn’t hurt as much as losing our own funds. Yet, depending on what type of casino bonus you accept, you could end up losing some of your own funds when trying to clear playthrough requirements or other terms and conditions.]]>

<![CDATA[When playing at casinos (no matter whether they’re online casinos or land-based ones), you might find yourself struggling to stay away. There’s a reason for this: casinos are really good at getting players to return and keep them spinning the reels or entering the live dealer rooms. They’re so good at it, you might not even notice their tactics. Let’s look at a few ways real-money casinos keep you coming back that you might not even notice. 5 Ways Real Money Casinos Hook Players Into Returning The main ways casinos keep you coming back are through loyalty programs, promotions, marketing tactics, and massive game libraries. Loyalty Programs With loyalty programs, the more you gamble, the more you get rewarded. The obvious answer is just to play less, right? Sorry, real-money casinos are really good at getting players to strive to reach that next loyalty tier or win a loyalty prize. That’s why casinos offer these programs. Sure, they want to reward their loyal players, but they also want casual bettors to become regular ones. Promotions for Existing Players You might think you’re not going to head to the casino or log into your online account. But then, you see an advertisement for a promotion. Deposit a minimum of $50, and get 10 free spins! Promotions like this are hard to pass up, and casinos know players will be tempted to take advantage of offers. One of the reasons players return to casinos is that these deals are too good to ignore. Email/SMS Marketing If you’ve signed up for email or text marketing at an online casino (and who hasn’t?), you’ll notice you get alerts for promotions, new games, special events, and more. These are little reminders to keep playing at a real-money casino, and marketing teams send them for a reason – they work. New Games Casinos also send out marketing blasts to promote new games. With thousands of slots available at some online casinos, it’s impossible to play them all. Yet, new games are often too exciting to pass up, especially if the casino offers you a promotion or free spins to check them out. [ra:139 c]]]>

If you maximize your coins and strategize your gameplay, you have a pretty good chance of redeeming your Sweeps Coins for prizes. How to Strategize Gameplay at Sweepstakes Casinos If you want to create a sweepstakes casino gameplay strategy, here are a few tips to maximize your Sweeps Coins if you want to redeem them for cash prizes. Look for Good Bonuses and Promotions Since only Sweepstakes Coins can be redeemed for prizes, you’ll want to get as many Free Sweeps Coins as possible. The best way to do this is to look for sweepstakes casinos with good welcome bonuses and promotions for existing players. Here are the best ways to get Free Sweeps Coins at sweepstakes casinos: No-deposit welcome bonuses Daily login bonuses Purchase promotions Friend referral bonuses Tournaments & challenges Try Games With Gold Coins First If you’re unfamiliar with a casino game, try it with Gold Coins before playing with Sweeps Coins. Since Gold Coins cannot be redeemed for prizes, you can use them freely to try out games. Once you’ve found the games that offer the best odds, switch over to Sweepstakes Coins (which can be redeemed for prizes). Play Games With Sweeps Coins Wisely The goal is to try to win as many Sweeps Coins as possible to trigger a redemption. Obviously, you want to prioritize your gameplay so you have the best chance of redeeming Sweeps Coins for cash prizes. Play games you’re more likely to win, including ones with high return-to-player percentages (RTPs), games with a low house edge like blackjack, and games with lots of features that could help you win more spins. Check Sweepstakes Casino Redemption Policies Before you can redeem Sweepstakes Coins for prizes, you’ll need to play them at least once. Check the sweepstakes casino’s playthrough requirements to see how many times you’ll need to play Sweeps Coins before they’re eligible for redemption. You’ll also want to check each sweepstakes casino’s minimum redemption threshold. If you get 10 Free Sweeps Coins as a no-deposit welcome bonus, but you need a minimum of 100 SC to trigger a redemption, you’ll need to win back your original 10 SC, plus win another 90 SC before you can redeem your Sweeps Coins for prizes. You may also want to consider redeeming Sweeps Coins for a gift card instead of a cash prize, as the minimum redemption threshold for gift cards is usually lower. [ra:37 c]]]>

<![CDATA[Have you ever known someone who enjoys playing the same slot machine over and over? As soon as you step foot into the casino, they make a beeline for their favorite slot machine? Why do some players always choose the same slot machine? Let’s take a look at three reasons why someone may choose to play the same game over and over again instead of checking out a new one. 3 Reasons Why Some Players Always Choose the Same Slot Machine They’re Waiting for a Win The No. 1 reason players choose the same slot machine (especially at a land-based casino) is that they’re waiting for a win. Some players believe that a slot machine will have to pay out at some point, so if there hasn’t been a win in a while, a win is sure to happen at some point. This isn’t necessarily so: slot machines are programmed with random number generators and return to player percentages (RTPs) that determine how much money will be awarded with every dollar spent. They’ve Had Good Luck Before Some players opt for RTP games. The higher a game’s RTP, the better odds you have of winning. A game with a 98% RTP will award $0.98 for every $1 spent on it over time. Playing higher RTP slots can result in more wins – and potentially even bigger wins. Some players enjoy spinning the reels on the same high RTP slot games simply because these games have awarded them larger wins or consistent wins in the past. They Enjoy Playing the Game Some players simply gravitate toward the same games because they enjoy them. They might enjoy a game’s animation or features or RTP percentage. It doesn’t necessarily matter why they enjoy a game: they simply want to play it because it’s fun for one reason or another. Why People Choose the Same Slot Machine: One Final Thought At the end of the day, we humans are creatures of habit. We enjoy what is familiar or comfortable – our brains are hard-wired to return to the things we love. If a player enjoys a slot machine, whether it’s because they win a lot or enjoy playing the game, or just feel it is lucky, they’re more likely to play it over and over again. [ra:136 c]]]>

But did you know that there are some people who don’t ever redeem their sweepstakes winnings? Let’s look at why players might not want to or might not be able to redeem their prizes. Top 5 Reasons Players Don’t Redeem Their Sweepstakes Winnings Here are the top five reasons why a player might not redeem their sweepstakes winnings – and they may not be what you’d assume. 1. They Cannot Complete KYC Verification Sweepstakes casino winners must complete know-your-customer (KYC) verification before they can redeem Sweepstakes Coins for prizes. Part of the verification process includes uploading photos of a government-issued ID, a utility bill, and a bank statement. Some players may not have a utility bill in their name with an address that matches the address on their sweepstakes account. More than 23 million Americans who are at least 18 years old do not have a government-issued ID. In 2023, more than 14% of U.S. households did not have a bank account. For all these reasons, players cannot complete KYC verification and may not try to redeem their sweepstakes casino winnings. 2. They Don’t Live in a State Where Sweepstakes Casinos Are Allowed Sweepstakes casinos don’t operate in every state. States that don’t allow sweepstakes casinos to operate across the board include Idaho and Utah. Many sweepstakes casinos are also pulling out of other states, including Michigan, Connecticut, and New York. Players who live in these states may have unclaimed winnings, but are no longer allowed to claim them because of legal restrictions. 3. They Don’t Think Prize Is ‘Worth It’ Some people believe that it’s not worth the time to redeem sweepstakes winnings. For traditional sweepstakes, it could be that the prize is unwanted (sneakers, vacations, cars, etc.) or that the prize will be too costly or difficult to claim. For sweepstakes casino winnings, some sites allow you to redeem Sweeps Coins for gift cards with as few as 10 SC (which could be redeemed for a $10 gift card). Some players may not think it’s worth the time and effort to complete KYC verification for $10. 4. They Don’t Know They’ve Won This is more common with traditional sweepstakes. Players may not have been properly notified that they won a sweepstakes contest because they did not include a valid address or email address in the submission. 5. They Waited Until Past the Claim Deadline Traditional sweepstakes prizes may be claimed up until a specified date. If the winner waits too long, they could end up forfeiting the prize. For sweepstakes casinos, players may have waited too long to log into their account (most sites require players to log in every 30, 60, or 90 days and make at least one play), and their Sweeps Coins were revoked.]]>

<![CDATA[To some, making wagers against the favorite doesn’t seem like a good bet. Yet, making underdog bets can actually be quite profitable, but only if you know how to do it. Let’s look at a few reasons why underdog wagers can be profitable and talk about some of the best practices to employ before hitting the betting window. Top 4 Reasons to Make Wagers on Underdogs Underdog wagers may seem like a lose-lose situation to a lot of bettors. But some underdog bets can be quite profitable. Here are the top four reasons why players are so keen to make bets against the favorites. 1. Winning Underdog Bets Are Profitable The favorites generally have lower odds on sportsbooks, making underdog bets more profitable overall – if you happen to win the bet. 2. Favorites Can Skew Odds When the majority of bettors are making wagers on a favorite, especially a very popular favorite, this can skew sportsbook odds. Just because the general public believes that a bet is a sure thing doesn’t mean that the bet will win. In fact, since public bias is often based on emotions rather than logic, the general public is frequently incorrect. 3. Underdogs Have Value Some underdogs have massive winning potential. If you want to win underdog wagers, you’ll want to research which underdogs perform best in certain situations. 4. Betting On Underdogs Is Fun Making a winning wager on the party that is most likely to lose is just plain fun. Just consider the bragging rights you’ll earn if you happen to make an unlikely prediction. [ra:144 c] Should You Only Bet on Underdogs? Absolutely not. Just because underdogs come with higher odds doesn’t mean only betting on them will turn a profit. Before making underdog bets, you’ll want to do some research (which we’ll cover in the next section). Tips for Making Wagers on Underdogs If you want to get better at betting on underdogs, here are a few tips that will help you make more accurate predictions. Do Your Research Don’t just blindly bet on someone because they’re an underdog. Before hitting the betting window, find out which underdogs have value, and consider the conditions of the game (weather, playing surface, home or away teams, etc.). Don’t Get Emotional It’s easy to get fascinated by underdogs. When they win, everyone gets excited (except for maybe losing bettors). When making wagers, it’s important to keep your emotions in check so you don’t get too attached to any one bet. Stick to a Budget Consider your budget before making any bet – but especially before making underdog bets. Don’t keep throwing down money to dig yourself out of a bet that isn’t going to win.]]>
