2022 Home Run Derby Winner Odds
As things currently stand, Mets slugger Pete Alonso is the odds-on favorite to win the 2022 Home Run Derby, and for good reason. Alonso has won each of the last two home run derbys, and will look to become the first ever player to win three in a row this Monday night. Alonso’s odds to win the 2022 Derby currently sit at +200, but they’ve been dropping everyday. So, if you want to back the Polar Bear, be sure to get in your bets today.
Here are the current odds for the entire field:
- Pete Alonso +200
- Kyle Schwarber +330
- Ronald Acuna Jr +600
- Juan Soto +600
- Corey Seager +900
- Julio Rodriguez +1000
- Jose Ramirez +1600
- Albert Pujols +2200
If I’m being honest with you, I think this one is Alonso’s (+200) to lose. However, there are two guys that I think you should keep an eye on if you’re looking for someone with a bit higher odds. I’m mainly speaking about Juan Soto, who at +600 could really make you some money if he manages to flex those home run hitting muscles. Soto has the swagger that you need to win a contest like this, so I can see him making easy work of both Jose Ramirez and (presumably) Kyle Schwarber. His face-off against Alonso would be where things get tricky, but by that point in the competition, anyone can win.
The second competitor who I have my eye on is Mariners rookie phenom Julio Rodriguez, who at +1000 could really shock the world. If you have no rooting interest in this year's derby, he is who you should be rooting for to win it all. He’s got a pretty favorable first-round matchup against Corey Seager, and who knows, maybe he could catch some momentum and really take the derby for a ride.
