2023-2024 NFL Odds After Crazy First Round of Draft

Well, that first night of the 2023 NFL Draft was kinda nuts, right?
Even though, it began precisely as I expected.
I called C.J. Stroud going No. 2 to the Texans a week ago, when everyone else had their doubts, although I did miss Anthony Richardson by one pick. I thought some team would trade up to grab him third; instead, he went No. 4 to the Colts.
After that, there were trades galore, certain mock draft top-20 selections, like Kentucky QB Will Levis, fell out of the first round, and other franchises made puzzling picks.
For example: What the hell were the Lions thinking on both of their two picks in the first round?
Those are serious reaches, Detroit dudes, but, in fairness, the Motor City boys have been crafty drafters over the last couple of years, so we’ll see.
Now, let’s take a look at, first, who the betting favorites
The odds I’m using are from BetMGM, one of our favorite sites, along with many other great gambling companies in the U.S., including FanDuel Sportsbook, DraftKings Sportsbook, and more.
2023 AP NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year Odds to Win
RB Bijan Robinson, Falcons (+350)
QB Bryce Young, Panthers (+500)
QB C.J. Stroud, Texans (+650)
WR Jaxon Smith-Njigba, Seahawks (+700)
RB Jahmyr Gibbs, Lions (+900)
QB Anthony Richardson, Colts (+1000)
WR Jordan Addison, Vikings (+1600)
WR Zay Flowers, Ravens (+2000)
WR Quentin Johnston, Chargers (+2000)
If I’m a gamblin’ man, with solid odds, I’m going with either Smith-Njigba – Seattle QB Geno Smith is gonna love this guy – or Richardson. Who knows, but he could win the award just like his predecessor, and to whom he’s often compared: Cam Newton (won in 2011).
Now let’s look at the latest Super Bowl odds following the first round.
I’m telling you right now the Eagles are winning this thing next year.
They had an A-grade first-round draft, adding two Georgia defensive studs in controversial tackle Jalen Carter and edge rusher Nolan Smith.
Hey, NFL teams, have fun trying to stop the (pardon the pun) Bulldog-rushing of those two, coupled with another Georgia alum, DT Jordan Davis. Haason Reddick leads that charge and that defense is going to be a nightmare this year.
FanDuel bettors believe that the 2024 Super Bowl is going to be a rematch of this past February’s thriller.
I think it’s going to be the Bills or Bengals in the Super Bowl next year (the 58th on Feb. 11, 2024, at Allegiant Stadium in Paradise, Nevada) but I’m calling the Eagles right now to win their second NFL championship – after four previous appearances.
