2023 March Madness Cinderella to Make the Sweet Sixteen

OK, here it is, you princesses and princes.
As moms and dads figure out what to tell their kids about March Madness.
It’s something everyone does – and also why you were born.
Brackets, babies.
Yeah, go ahead and pick the team whose mascot nickname you like the most.
You might win. Ask Carol from accounting.
Anything goes this time of year and trying to figure out who will win it all by April will be a crapshoot.
There’s great analysis here. A 12-seeded team is going to beat a No. 5 team.
Book it, bank it, and all the rest.
Happens almost every year.
But which one? I love the possibility of Oral Roberts upsetting Duke.
Problem is, those damn Blue Devils are playing too well to get knocked out in the first round.
Before we look at the odds of my pick, this is a solid primer from ESPN on what you should at least consider doing as you fill out your bracket.
(Note: Don’t fill out more than one bracket. Nobody thinks you’re a savant if you fill out six and then, following an upset, say, ‘Oh, yeah I had that.’ Pick your teams, fill out one, and be done.)
The odds I’m using are courtesy of one of our favorite sites: FanDuel Sportsbook.
But don’t forget about all the other great gambling options across the country including, PointsBet, BetMGM and more.
Also, be sure to check out our guide to online casinos, from Michigan to New Jersey. You can place all your college basketball future bets through OddsSeeker.

So here’s who I like: VCU

Yes: (+610)
No (-1000)
And yet, oddsmakers have the Rams just 4.5-point underdogs to the not-so-great-Gaels of St. Mary’s.
Kenpom stats be damned, that team got demolished by Gonzaga – watched it, and it was a wreck of a mess to witness a team deemed to be a No. 5 seed.
Nonsense.
VCU is winning that.
The trouble is that the Rams will likely face UConn in the second round.
But VCU is tenacious on D and forces tons of turnovers.
They’ve won nine straight games, so confidence won’t be an issue.
Finally, their top-notch point guard Ace Baldwin is going to shine for more than a few shining moments as VCU advances.
Cinderella season, ladies and gents.
