2023 MLB Future Odds: Get Yankees or Mets to Win World Series On One Special Bet

Spring training starts Friday, Feb. 24, so it’s time to consider your future bets for the 2023 World Series.
Predicting the ultimate world champion of the Fall Classic a whopping eight months before it starts is no easy task, but it’s an incredibly fun challenge and the preseason odds are terrific.
The one special bet I’m suggesting will likely make New York fans, both the Yankees and Mets alike, go crazy and cry baseball blasphemy.
The odds are courtesy of FanDuel Sportsbook but don’t overlook all of the other great gambling options available in your state including DraftKings Sportsbook, BetMGM, and more.

Many, many MLB fans across the country would absolutely never consider putting money on both the Yankees AND Mets (I can hear them now: Fuhgeddaboudit!”) but I am not them and they are not me.
Truthfully, I don’t care for either of those teams. So there.
However, since sports gambling is all about ignoring your gut and instead using your head, I can recognize that both squads should be among the top five teams in 2023.
Barring injuries, never a given with these two (Frankie Montas is out until at least mid-August), the Yankees and Mets should have the top two starting rotations in the majors.
The Yankees remained a World Series favorite after 62-home run slugger Aaron Judge re-signed with the team in December.
They followed that up by signing starting pitcher Carlos Rodon, who was 14-8 with a 2.88 ERA last season with the Giants while earning his second straight All-Star selection.
The team captain says don’t count out another historic season in the Bronx.
Meanwhile, all the Mets did was go out and sign some dude named Justin Verlander.
They ultimately couldn’t land shortstop Carlos Correa but they still received an A- for their offseason moves. The Yankees received a straight A.
That’s a 101-win Mets team from a year ago and a 99-win Yankees team which have both improved dramatically this offseason. Hmm.
Plus, both teams will be motivated after early playoff exits in 2022 – the Mets were ousted by the Padres and the Yankees were blitzed 4-0 in the ALCS by the eventual world-champion Astros.
With all of that considered, here’s the bet I like: FanDuel is offering +400 odds to take either the Yankees or Mets to win all the marbles.
Why not just do two separate bets on them – the Yankees and Mets are both listed at +800 to win the World Series – but the math is simple: Let’s say you spend $200 total on 2023 MLB future bets and you were to put $100 on the Yankees and another $100 on the Dodgers. $200 total. So if either of those teams won it all, at those odds, your net would be $700, after factoring in the $100 you lost on the non-winner.
But if you were to put that same $200 on the either-or situation, you’ve won a true $800, which means an extra hundo in your pocket. Pretty sweet.
I think one of those teams is winning the 2023 World Series. Unless it’s my dark horse pick: The White Sox (+3000).
Heh. Had to hedge on one legitimate long shot. Sprinkle a little on Chicago – but definitely not the Cubs.
