Aaron Donald Retirement Rumors Continue To Spread Amidst LA Rams Contract Negotiations

Aaron Donald has been the best player in the NFL for the past few seasons, so it’s hard to think of a 2022/23 season without him. Unfortunately, our worst nightmares may become a reality, as Donald is still toying with the idea of retirement. The Los Angeles Rams' defensive tackle has every accolade imaginable, just take a look:
- 8x Pro Bowl
- 7x All-Pro
- 1x Super Bowl Champ
- 3x AP Def POY
So it’s fair to say the Rams don’t want to see him walk–so why isn’t this deal getting done? Before his contract expired, you’d be surprised to learn that Donald wasn’t getting paid much (compared to other NFL stars). In the 2021-2022 season, Donald made just under $2 million–which is a year he grabbed the Super Bowl clinching sack and was an All-Pro.
Rumors of Donald’s retirement first swirled immediately after the Super Bowl, but had died down a bit since. However, after his appearance on the “I am Athlete” podcast, Donald repeatedly said he is “at peace” with his NFL career. He said, "For me, it’s about winning. I don’t want to play football if I can’t win anyway, so I feel like if I got a real opportunity to win another Super Bowl, then it makes sense to play. But again, it’s still a business. We’ve got to handle the business side of things, and if that wasn’t to get handled then, you know, it is what it is type of situation. I’ll be fine regardless."
The Rams are currently the fourth most favored team to win the Super Bowl, according to DraftKings sportsbook. If you want to bet on the Rams or any other team to win the Super Bowl, you can do so on any of the New Jersey Online Gambling sites. The odds may change if Donald decides to retire, so I would definitely keep an eye on that situation.
