Aaron Judge Ties Roger Maris’ AL Home Run Record and Hits His 61st Home Run Of The Season

No more waiting–Aaron Judge was finally able to send number 61 into the stands after being stuck at 60 for seven straight games. This obviously ties Roger Maris’ AL single-season record, which was set all the way back in 1961.

While the journey to 60 seemed relatively effortless, that leap to 61 seemed to be a struggle for Judge, who was only 5 for 19 coming into tonight’s game. Many thought it would never come, simply because pitchers became afraid to pitch to him–in his past seven games, Judge has been walked nine times.
