Well, that didn’t take long.

Aaron Rodgers sat out of today’s (Tuesday, May 23rd) OTAs with a ‘tweaked calf’ that he deems as not ‘too serious.’

"I just tweaked my calf in the little pre-practice conditioning," Rodgers told reporters Tuesday afternoon, via SNY. "Take it by day."

Rodgers was seen warming up with teammates at the start of the day, but was quickly sidelined as team drills began. What was initially thought to be an ankle injury was later stated to be a calf injury.

If there’s any bright side to things, though, it’s that Rodgers seemed to get little to no medical attention, nor did he even leave the field. So, maybe it was just a little tweak, and he figured it’d be best not to make a mountain out of a mole hill.

I know there are plenty of people who are hoping that’s the case–especially those that placed their pre-season NFL future bets on the Jets.

As things stand today, the Jets have the seventh-best odds on DraftKings Sportsbook to win the Super Bowl, currently sitting at +1800. Their win total is currently at 9.5, with the over a slight favorite (-130 vs +110). They have the second best odds to win the AFC East behind just the Bills, and are currently at -150 to make the playoffs.

If Rodgers’ injury turns out to be more than just a tweak, you can expect those odds to drop.

Being a lifelong Jets fan, I’ve been conditioned to expect the worst, so I’ve already thrown away my Aaron Rodgers jersey and figure he’ll get the leg amputated sometime in July. However, if you’re more optimistic than me, I applaud you, and say only one thing: Let’s go Jets.
