The Atlanta Braves have won 12 games in a row, but things are not as good as they seem for the reigning World Series champs. Ozzie Albies, the two-time all-star and 2021 Silver Slugger, left Monday night’s game against the Nationals with an apparent foot injury. The fans' worst suspicions became a reality after the game, when it was announced that Albies sustained a foot fracture after tweaking his foot mid-swing.

Albies has since been placed on the 60-day Injured List, and it is unclear as to when he will return. They’ve decided to call up veteran infielder Phil Gosselin in his place. Gosselin signed a contract with the Braves earlier this offseason and has been hitting well in triple-A, slashing .297/.358/.473 through 204 plate appearances.

This hot streak for the Braves couldn’t have come at a better time, as it coincides nicely with the NL East first-place Mets slump. This win streak brings the Braves to just five games behind the Mets, but without Albies you have to wonder how much longer it will last.

Albies was having a bit of a down year this season, hitting just .244 but still managing to hit 8 home runs and drive in 33 runs. If you think Albies' absence will impact the Braves, positively or negatively, you can bet on them through any of these Pennsylvania Online Casinos.
