Brooks Koepka Becomes Latest Star To Join Controversial LIV Golf Series

Four-time major champion Brooks Koepka is the latest to join the growing list of PGA Stars to have left the American organization for the much richer, yet much more controversial, LIV Golf Series. LIV, a Saudi-funded golf organization, is expected to announce Koepka’s signing in the next couple of days. Koepka is currently ranked 19th in the Official World Golf Rankings, so he is one of the highest-profile players to have joined the series thus far.

The LIV Golf Series now has 8 of the top 50 players in the world, as Abraham Ancer (ranked 20th) is also reportedly leaving the PGA Tour. At last weekend's US Open Koepka seemed to be frustrated with the amount of questions he received regarding the LIV Series, saying "I'm ready to play the U.S. Open, and I think it kind of sucks, too, you are all throwing this black cloud over the U.S. Open. It's one of my favorite events. I don't know why you guys keep doing that. The more legs you give [LIV Golf], the more you keep talking about it."
Well, if their questions gave it legs, then Koepka has definitely decided to go for a run with it. The next LIV Golf Series event will start on Friday, June 30th, at Pumpkin Ridge Golf Club in North Plains, Oregon.
