Two-time MVP and Hall of Fame hopeful Bryce Harper is set to begin his minor-league rehab assignment on Tuesday, joining the Phillies Triple-A affiliate in Lehigh Valley. Harper will play in each of the team’s games until Saturday, when his injury will be reassessed. Reports show that he may be back in the Phillies lineup as soon as Monday, August 29th.

Harper, who has been on the IL since June 25th, initially landed himself on the list after taking a Blake Snell fastball to the thumb. He was having an incredible year before his injury, slashing .318/.385/.599 while raking 15 home runs and batting in 48 runs (in just 64 games). Harper was able to earn an All-Star bid because of his efforts but was unable to play in the game due to the injury.

Harper’s return could not be coming at a better time for the Phillies. While they didn’t get off to the hottest of starts, the Phillies are now 11 games over .500, and are sitting in the Wild Card race. While the NL East is far out of their reach, Harpe’s return will definitely be impactful towards their Wild Card spot clinch.

As things stand today, the Phillies are -210 to make the playoffs, with odds provided by DraftKings Sportsbook. If you believe in the Phillies, you can be sure to bet on them to make the playoffs through any of these New Jersey Online Casinos.
