January has been quite a long month for Arsenal both on and off the pitch.

The most recent cause for concern came after a deadline day fallout between Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Arsenal led the striker to reach an agreement withe Barcelona via a free transfer deal. Aubamayang has spent the last three years with Arsenal, but a deteriorating relationship with manager Mikel Arteta led to his reluctant-free transfer.

Arteta versus Auba

Nou Camp welcomes the Gabonese international following a bitter relationship between manager Mikael Arteta and Aubameyang which sparked on Dec. 6th of 2022 because of disciplinary issues.

One way to look at this situation is perceiving the risk Arteta took by falling out of favor with the leading goalscorer, who's set quite an impressive tally of 92 goals in 163 appearances for the Gunners. Somehow, this proves to us that the former club captain-become-manager has gained the organization’s faith showing how trusted his judgments are, despite losing some offensive prowess in the process.

Is The Gunners Squad Depth A Hit or A Miss?

The expectations on Arsenal are expected to improve in the long run. Arteta’s judgment advises that the £350,000 originally committed to Aubamayang can now go a long way.

Although, this view may be challenged by the fact that both Lacazette and Kketiah’s contracts both need some touching up by the end of the season.

The Deal’s Technicalities

A significant turn of events occurred in the closing moments of the transfer window. As the last day arrived, the world-class striker flew to Barcelona to the surprise of Arsenal, adamant about his move.

Initially, the deal was processed through a verbal agreement appearing as a loan swap deal for French striker Ousmane Dembele. While Aubameyang attended a medical, the salary complications and negotiations seemed to get in the way of closing the deal.

Racing against time, President of the Catalan side Joan Laporta finalized the former Dortmund forward’s addition to the La Liga giants down in the nick of time.

Are The Club’s Scoring Solutions Solved?

After all, no marquee signings were made to balance Arteta’s structure. It is believed that the Club’s problems wont be solved without a fervent goal-scorer. Such concerns couldn’t be left unrecognized by mainstream platforms of the likes of Piers Morgan. He stressed, “This is a terrible transfer window for Arsenal. One goal in the whole of January and we sell our best striker for nothing with no replacement. Madness.”

Auba’s departure from the Emirates Stadium leaves Gunners with a point to prove, which evidently would take more than the one goal scored throughout January.
