And in addition, I’ll be giving you this: Five Fun Facts about Online Gambling. So, let’s get started.

1. Online gambling and betting is expected to grow to $100 billion by 2026

Yes, you read that correctly. Stop trying to wipe the smudge of your laptop, it’s SUPPOSED to be a “b” in front of that “illion”. $100 billion is a whole lot of billions, but it makes sense. In 2019, the online gambling and betting market size was just over $50 billion. And now, thanks to all the top tier online gambling operators, there’s no reason it should stop growing.

2. US Online Gambling statistics show that over half of online gamblers (57%) in the states are Female.

Huh, would you look at that? I really have no fun anecdote to add to this one, but it’s definitely an interesting dynamic.

3. Online Gambling statistics in the US show that over 85% of the adult population has tried gambling.

I’ll be honest, that’s a lot higher than I ever imagined. Considering the number of states that still don’t even have brick-and-mortar casinos within state lines, I would have expected that number to be closer to 60%.

4. The first online casino was founded in 1994.

I didn’t really know there were computers back in 1994, let alone computers that could run online gambling. The first online casino was named “Microgaming” and it was based out of Antiuga and Bermuda.

5. In 1998, Planet Poker became the first online poker site.

Although Planet Poker was the first of its kind, it was not the best. The site was taken down in under a year due to technical difficulties.
