Former Formula One World Champion and racing legend Kimi Raikkonen will join up with Trackhouse Racing for the road course race at Wakins Glen on 8/21/22. This will be Raikkonen’s first outing in a motorsport event since he retired from Formula One back in 2021. The 2007 F1 World Champion’s participation comes as a part of the Trackhouse Racing Team’s Project 91 initiative. The project 91 initiative pits a different driver in its #91 car every race and holds it exclusively for international drivers.

“I’ve been a big fan of Kimi’s for a long time, I’ve followed his career since he started in Formula 1 with Sauber,” said Trackhouse owner Justin Marks.

Raikkonen is no stranger to NASCAR–he’s taken place in one Nationwide Series Event and one Truck Series race back in 2011. Kimi has also tested a Cup car on a road course before, back in 2011, yet it ended short when he went off track and tore up the nose on some wet grass.

Raikkonen will surely be looking for a better result this time around–and if you believe in the former F1 Champion, you can be sure to bet on any motorsports event at any of the New Jersey online gambling sites.
