Greektown Casino Hotel Gets Revamp

Michigan online casinos aren’t the only ones getting some attention in the Wolverine State! The land-based casinos are also getting a little love (perhaps because the rise in popularity of gambling in Michigan is partially thanks to the legalization of online gambling?).
The famed Greektown Casino-Hotel is getting a makeover (including its name). Owners of the Greektown, Penn National Gaming, have announced the casino will be renamed Hollywood Casino at Greektown.
And the name change is just the start of all the fun.
Penn National Gaming announced the building will also see a major revamp. $30 million will be poured into the casino’s property, including a redesign of its 400 rooms. The hotel will get new carpets, wall coverings, and elevator interiors.
No more tired decor for this local hotel and casino!
On the gambling side, Barstool Sportsbook was newly opened, offering betting on a wide variety of sporting events.
The hotel and casino will also add new restaurants, including the Urban Cocktail and Rock Bar as well as a new upscale coffee shop run by Dunkin’ Donuts.
Currently, the hotel (which was built back in 2000) is home to casual dining options, including the Monroe Market.
