It's Crazy But the 2024 March Madness Odds Are Already Posted

Connecticut’s men’s basketball team is still celebrating. The Huskies now have five championships in the past 25 years.
And oddsmakers like their chances to repeat next season.
Sharpshooting guard Jordan Hawkins will be off to the NBA as a top-15 first-round draft pick and Adama Sanogo and Tristen Newton must decide if they’ll turn pro.
UConn will be great for the next decade or two at least thanks to Danny Hurley’s coaching and recruiting.
His next bunch of incoming freshmen is led by five-star point guard Stephon Castle, a McDonald’s All-American who is ranked No. 10 overall in the 2023 class.
Duke is the second-betting favorite. Head coach Jon Scheyer, in his first year at the helm after taking over for the legendary Mike Krzyzewski, will have a talented young team returning, led by center Kyle Filipowski. The Blue Devils will bring in five (!) five-star freshmen all ranked among the nation’s top-20 high school recruits according to Rivals.com
Mark Mitchell and Tyrese Proctor will return, too, which makes Duke dangerous next season.
Another blueblood team that figures to make a run to Phoenix for the 2024 Final Four (April 5-7) is Kentucky.
The Wildcats were ousted in the second round of this year’s tournament but John Calipari has arguably the best recruiting class of 2023 — if he can get all of these kids signed. Right now, he has verbal commitments (which can change quickly) from the No. 3, No. 4, No. 5, and No. 7 recruits (also per Rivals). And also the No. 22-ranked recruit. Whoa.
For all of Calipari’s success in Lexington, the Hall of Fame coach has won just one national championship. And that was in 2012. You know he’s anxious to secure his second.
The Wildcats look like a good bet right now at +1500.
So let’s look at the rest of the field.

It’s probably wise to wait on a wager until recruits are signed, transfer portal intentions are made and NBA Draft decisions are declared.
But that said, I like both Duke and Kentucky at better than 10-to-1 odds.
Throw a little coin on each of them now.
