Katie Taylor vs Chantelle Cameron Odds, Best Bets, and Predictions

What a fight we have on our hands here. 

Katie Taylor will be fighting in her hometown of Dublin, Ireland, for the first time in her professional career, taking on the WBC, IBF, Ring Magazine, WBO, and WBA Light-Welterweight Champion Chantelle Cameron. 

Wow, that was a mouthful. 

Taylor who is the WBA, WBC, IBF, and WBO lightweight champion, has decided to move up and take on Cameron in her homecoming fight which is a bold move to say the least. 

Katie Taylor really managed to put her name on the map back in April of 2022, when she faced off against Amanda Serrano in what many call one of the best fights in boxing history. Taylor managed to edge Serrano out narrowly and won via split decision.

Taylor went on to defend all her belts against Karen Carabajal and is now facing down the barrel of a cannon named Chantelle Cameron.

Cameron, who is 17-0, first won the WBC light-welterweight title back in October of 2020. She has since defended it, and accumulated a few more, in four consecutive fights.

According to DraftKings Sportsbook, the size difference between the two isn’t enough to push this fight Cameron’s way. Katie Taylor is a slight favorite at -175, and Cameron is the dog at +140.

The most plausible outcome according to DraftKings is Taylor to win via decision (-130), followed by Cameron to win via decision (+220). The over/under for the fight is set at 8.5 rounds, and the under is the HEAVY underdog (+550).

For the longest time, people thought Katie Taylor would never fight Chantelle Cameron. I mean, why would she? She’s one of the best boxers of all time, is an undisputed champ, is UNDEFEATED, and has a massive money fight waiting against Amanda Serrano. However, Taylor is just built different–or, as the kids say, she has that dog in her.

But will the dog come out on Saturday?

I think so.

Don’t get me wrong, Chantelle is very capable of winning this fight. Cameron has a ton of power, she applies a ton of pressure,  and she will be throwing haymakers all night. If Katie Taylor tries to stand and bang with her, it may be a tough night for the Irishwoman. 

However, if she’s a bit more strategic and keeps her distance, then I think she’ll be able to tough it out.
