Klay Thompson has been at Golden State since the beginning of his career. The one half of The Splash Brothers was drafted by The Warriors in 2011 as the 11th overall pick and has built his game and experience over the years alongside Steph Curry. He took some time to develop and find his place but he has become an integral part of their team, helping them win in 2015/17 and 2018. During this run, Klay and Steph solidified themselves as the best shooters of their generation. It’s no secret that his shooting form is said to be close to perfect and the Warriors definitely have benefited from his contribution.

With his value being etched in his team, it was imperative for the Warriors that he re-signed the contract that ended in 2019, especially considering Kevin Durant leaving. Klay Thompson announced his contract extension in a very theatrical way, using a clip from “The Wolf of Wall Street” of Leornado De Caprio saying that he’s not leaving his company. Thompson posted a video to announce to the fans, “I am not f****** leaving. The show goes on. This is my home.” He didn’t himself say those exact words, but his “energy” was the same as Leonardo's character in The Wolf of Wall Street.
