Meet Fenwick: The Biggest Underdog in this Weekend's Preakness
A couple of weeks ago, we witnessed one of the most shocking Kentucky Derby finishes of all time. Rich Strike, who had 80-1 odds to win the race, ultimately crossed the finish line first. A bet on Rich Strike I’m sure was not one made with confidence–even Rick Dawson, Rich Strikes' owner, did not know the horse would be racing in the Derby until 48 hours before the race. However, an unconfident bet on Rich Strike was still a bet nonetheless–and at 80-1 odds, it's fair to say she was the bet of the century.
So, with the Preakness around the corner, I’m sure people will be looking to chase that high by betting on this weekend’s underdog. Well, let me introduce you to Fenwick.
Fenwick is a horse owned by Kevin McKathan and is the son of 2007 Preakness winner Curlin. Experts say he’s a toss, but McKathan believes in his horse. “He’s a big-moving horse and a free-running horse,” he said. “If you let him do that, he’s hard to catch.”
Fenwicks' trainer is very confident as well, saying “He’s fast, and if you put him out there, he has such a high cruising speed. And if everyone’s saying, ‘He’s 50-1, let him go,’ they’ll never see him again.”
If you believe in miracles, you can bet on this weekend's Preakness at any of these Michigan online casinos. The Preakness is the second of three triple crown races, but the crown is not on the line this year as Rich Strike will not be participating in the Preakness.
The third triple crown race is the Belmont Stakes, which will be taking place on June 11th, 2022. If you are interested in betting on that, you can check out any of these New Jersey online casinos.
