One lucky New York lottery player won the $126 million Mega Millions jackpot for the drawing held yesterday, March 8th. That means the jackpot will be reset for Friday’s drawing, and will be worth $20 million.
The Mega Millions numbers for March 8th were:
7–18–38–58–64
The Gold Mega Ball was 24
The Megaplier was 3
While there was a jackpot winner, no one matched all five white balls–so no one took home the $1 million prize.
There were 222,223 tickets sold that won at least $4 in the drawing. 8,328 of those tickets were in Michigan alone.
Mega Millions drawings are held every Tuesday and Friday, at 11 PM EST. Five balls are drawn from a set of balls numbered 1-70, and different cash prizes are given out depending on how many you match.
Match all five balls, and you take home $1 million. Match all five as well as the mega ball? And you have yourself a jackpot. It’s a lot easier said than done, though. The odds of winning the jackpot are 1 in 302 million.
