Mike Trout’s Fantasy Football League Suddenly Has a Barstool Twist

An interesting side-plot to the 2022 MLB season is the fantasy football league run by Angels superstar Mike Trout. It all started a few weeks ago when Cincinnati Reds outfielder Tommy Pham was seen slapping San Francisco Giants outfielder Joc Pederson before a game. Many wondered what the slap could of been about, but no one would have guessed the true answer was Fantasy Football.
Tommy Pham was upset that Joc Pederson was “stashing players in his IR,” and took offense to a harmless, childish GIF that Pederson sent into the league's group chat pertaining to the Padres (who Pham was on at the time). Tommy Pham has since been removed from the league, and has been replaced by nonother than the Pizza Man himself–Dave Portnoy.
Dave Portnoy, otherwise known as El Pres, is the founder of Barstool Sports. Mike Trout invited Portnoy to the league and assigned him the job of finding a new commissioner. That’s where Portnoy enlisted the help of one of his employees, Steven Cheah.
Steven Cheah, who is the self-proclaimed inventor of the “Zero RB Strategy,” is a fantasy football dork who knows nothing about baseball–so he’s actually perfect for the job. Cheah, who thought that Shane Bieber was actually Justin Bieber when he introduced himself over text as “Bieber”, was the fourth most accurate mock drafter in the country for the 2022 NFL Draft. There’s no questioning he knows his stuff, but believe it or not Cheah is only Barstools’ “Junior Draft Analyst.”
Barstool has their own sportsbook, the Barstool Sportsbook, so I’m sure they’ll incorporate the league into different Barstool Sportsbook Promos come football season. If the Barstool Sportsbook isn’t available in your area, you can check out any of these other Michigan Online Casinos.
