NFL Lines To Watch As NY Sports Betting Launches This Weekend
Although online sports betting was officially legalized in New York State this past April, the state has only started to get the ball rolling on their burgeoning sports betting industry fairly recently, as the New York State Gaming Commission formally announced that they’ve given four sportsbook operators the go-ahead to launch tomorrow.
If you’re a New Yorker considering signing up for FanDuel Sportsbook, you can already sign up here during the pre-launch period (i.e. TODAY ONLY) to claim $100 in betting credit through this awesome free signup bonus, no deposit required.
Unfortunately, it’ll be too soon for New Yorkers to bet on the Nets lines tonight, too early to wager on the Nets and Knicks lines over the weekend, and too early to bet on the Rangers puck line quite yet, but we’ve got some interesting FanDuel odds on two NFL matchups this weekend.
One will see the Giants trying their damndest to stay afloat against the Washington Football Team, with a brutal 4-12 season record. The other will see two New York NFL teams going toe to toe with one another, as the Buffalo Bills try to maintain their 10-6 season record against the Jets on their home turf in Orchard Park.
Here’s where those football odds currently stand, and here’s how you can start off your New York sports betting career on the right foot TODAY with a great pre-launch bonus!
Giants Vs. Washington Odds
This Sunday at 1, the Washington Football Team is set to face off against the New York Giants at the team’s home MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey. Although both teams are struggling to overcome their own slumps, with Washington at 10 losses and the Giants at 12.
Even though the Giants have two more losses under their belts than Washington, New York is still pegged as a favorite for covering the spread, with -114 odds to Washington’s -106 on FanDuel. That said, the home-field advantage doesn’t extend over to the moneyline, where Washington are currently -300 favorites, and the Giants are currently +245 underdogs.
Both teams have been plagued by the COVID woes faced by many other sports teams over the past year. Washington’s added over 27 players and seven coaches to their COVID-19 reserve list since December 8th (see this NBC Sports story), and according to Giantswire, only THREE Giants players have been able to regularly, fully participate in practices this season.
It makes sense that even despite both teams’ heavy underdog status, Washington comes out on top as a favorite in the eyes of the oddsmakers. Granted, you could always stick to your principles as a New York fan and try to fade their consensus, but the lines seem pretty credible on this one.
Either way, you can make both plays RISK FREE with our pre-launch FanDuel promotional link, only valid TODAY!
Jets Vs. Bills Picks
The Bills are currently strong -16.5 point spread favorites on FanDuel at -108 for their Sunday home game against the Jets. A lot is riding on this matchup for the Bills; although the Jets have much weaker playoff hopes with 12 losses this season, the Bills will become a leading AFC East contender if they win this matchup.
However, even though the Bills are heavily favored to win the actual game, the Jets currently have the slight edge on their side of the spread, +16.5 at -112, with speculation that a backdoor cover could happen if Bills coach Sean McDermott deploys reserve players in the latter half of the game.
Follow these movements closely over the next two days before placing any wagers, but sign up with our pre-launch affiliate link TODAY to play them risk-free! If you miss the boat though, it’s not the end of the world – you can sign up for FanDuel HERE to claim a $1000 first deposit match bonus anytime!
