Rapper J. Cole Shooting For The Stars, Signing A Basketball Contract in Canada's Elite League

J. Cole refuses to give up his hoop dreams, after signing a professional basketball contract with the Canadian elite basketball club, the Scarborough Shooting Stars.
He returns to play pro basketball for the second consecutive year, following up his brief stint in the Basketball Africa League, where he made only 3 preliminary game appearances for the Rwanda Patriots before citing “family reasons” for his departure back home to the United States.
He did fulfill his contract obligations of appearing in up to 6 games, playing a total of 45 minutes–where he dropped 5-points, 3 assists, and 5 rebounds.
On the roster of the Scarborough Shooting Stars as a 6’3 guard, the platinum-selling rapper does have a resume in basketball. It all started off at Terry Sanford High School where he first got his feet wet before becoming a walk-on for the St. John’s Red Storm. Simultaneously, he was still building a career in music after moving to New York from North Carolina.
Later he would also gear up for the East Team during 2012’s NBA All-Star Weekend Celebrity Game to solidify his attachments to the game, and prove to the rest of the world his ball-themed catalog such as “The Warm-Up” mixtape and “The Sideline Story” debut album wasn’t all just fabricated talk.
The 37-year-old hip hop icon undertakes two things that take an incredible amount of skill to show that no lights are too bright for him, prophesizing one bar at a time like he rapped “Unless he dribble or he fiddle with mics” on his song.
All in all, the Canadian Elite Basketball League 2022 season is upon us and you have to love what this could do to build some early hype. You can catch Scarborough and J. Cole’s debut on May 26 7PM E.T. vs Guelf Nighthawks.
Since the report of his signing hit the headlines, it's no surprise the arena seats have been filling up as we speak. In a similar fashion, you can join the action and bet on this year's Canada Elite Basketball League using any of the Michigan online casino apps with no deposit bonus.
