McVay became the youngest coach in modern NFL history at 30 years old on January 12, 2017, when L.A. Rams Owner Stanley Kroenke named McVay as the 23rd full-time head coach in franchise history. Sean McVay is also the youngest head coach to win in the playoffs, make multiple Super Bowl appearances, win a Super Bowl, and be named the AP NFL Coach of the Year.

The Rams had the league's lowest-scoring offense the year before McVay turned it into the top-scoring team of 2017 on the way to a division title, all within his first year. The season also marked the Rams' first winning record since 2003 and first playoff appearance since 2004. Over the following seasons, McVay led the Rams to two Super Bowl appearances and won the franchise's first since Super Bowl LVI in 1999. His success in Los Angeles is credited with changing NFL hiring philosophies toward younger head coaches.

Most recently, outside of being a defending champion, he has been in the media for different players attempting to crash his wedding which happened in the past few weeks. He spoke about it briefly during an interview with the “I AM Athlete'' podcast.

It seems this wedding had the most exclusive guest list and helping your coach win his first Super Bowl title didn’t ensure you an invitation. But for Odell Beckham Jr., a formal invitation to Sean McVay's wedding wasn’t at all something to bother about.

Sean Mcvay spoke about this joyfully: "So probably the most stressful thing about this wedding was figuring out, all right, how do you get the guest list right where you don't have any sort of interruptions or, you know, anybody having their feelings hurt unnecessarily because you got good relationships with guys”. "So I just invited the captains from last year's team and then there were a couple other guys that are retired players that you still have great relationships with."

OBJ didn't qualify in either of those categories, but McVay explained this didn't stop him. "I love Odell and so only in Odell's fashion could he be the wedding crasher at our wedding," shared McVay. "So O showed up, crashed the wedding and I loved it."

McVay summed the story up by saying that he told the free-agent receiver, "You crashed my wedding, you re-sign with the Rams then, man."
