Taking A Look At The 2022 Formula One World Championship Front Runners Ahead of Austrian GP

We’re just hours away from Austrian GP race week kicking off, so what better time to look at the front runners for this year's World Championship than now. The odds I’ll be using for this are provided by DraftKings Sportsbook. DraftKings is one of the best New Jersey Online Caisnos on the market, so be sure to check it out for all your sports betting and casino gaming needs.
1. Max Verstappen (-500)
Verstappen struggled in the British GP last week thanks to an early puncture, but he has otherwise proven that when his car is firing 100%, he is the man to beat. If you want to hop on the Verstappen bandwagon, you may be running out of time, because one or two more race wins and his odds may skyrocket.
2. Charles Leclerc (+500)
The early season favorite has struggled in recent weeks and hasn’t seen a podium in five races. Leclerc has finished top 5 in seven of the ten races on the year, but needs more wins and high podium finishes if he wants to make a serious push for the championship. Leclerc is currently in third place in points behind both Red Bull drivers.
3. Lewis Hamilton (+2200)
Boy was it fun to see Hamilton return to form at last week's British GP. Mercedes proved that they are indeed back in the race after they’ve struggled with performance issues all season long. Hamilton is currently sixth in points (almost 100 behind Verstappen) so it may be too little too late, but if you’re looking for a cinderella sleeper pick then Hamilton may not be a bad bet.
4. Carlos Sainz (+2800)
Sainz, coming off of his first career win at last week's British GP, proved he is NOT a team player, which doesn’t bode well for Leclerc and his odds. However, all in all, Sainz has been putting together a very solid year so far. He’s got six podiums and seven top-fives so far this season, and has consistently been one of the fastest cars on the track.
5. Sergio Perez (+3500)
If it wasn’t for Verstappen, I would be jumping up and down at these odds for Perez right now. Perez has been driving like an absolute monster this season, finishing in the top-5 eight times. Perez is second in points behind Verstappen, and since Max is Red Bulls baby boy I don’t see them letting Perez shoot ahead. But who knows, all it takes is another race win by Perez, and maybe a DNF from Verstappen, and we could have ourselves a heated race for the championship between the two Red Bull drivers. Perez is currently second in points, 34 behind Verstappen.
