Thursday Night Football Best Bets and Predictions: Pittsburgh Steelers vs Minnesota Vikings

The Pittsburgh Steelers and the Minnesota Vikings will kick off the 14th Week of the NFL season tonight in Minnesota, in a game that has some huge playoff implications. If either team wants to have a chance as the season comes to a close, a win is almost necessary to stay in that playoff picture.
The Steelers are coming in this game off of a huge win against the Baltimore Ravens, where the Ravens gave up on a chance to tie the game with an extra point and decided to go for two instead–where Tight End Mark Andrews dropped a seemingly wide-open pass that would’ve secured the victory. Regardless of how it happened, the win went down for the Steelers and it’s on to the next one.
The Vikings are coming off of a week they’d like to forget, losing to the at the time winless Lions in a game that shouldn’t have even been close. The Vikings offense was firing on all cylinders in that game, but the defense let them down giving up 29 points to the Lions (the most points they’ve scored since week one.)

Pick One: Steelers +3 (-102)
The Vikings are an incredibly tough team to trust in this spot, losing their last two games in rough fashion, and winning only 2 of their last 6 games in total. In the Steelers’ last 7 games, only one of them has been decided by more than five points–so they’ve been playing teams close and tough. The Vikings are 0-6 in their last 6 home games as a favorite, and I expect that trend to continue tonight.
Pick Two: Justin Jefferson UNDER 90.5 Receiving Yards (-110)
While the Steelers secondary isn’t anything to write home about, they’ve only allowed four 90+ yard receiving games to WR/TE all season, and find themselves among the top-half of the league in terms of least receptions allowed. While Justin Jefferson is having the season of a lifetime, I love the prop under in tonight’s game.
