Week 17 NFL Picks, Sleepers, Betting Odds & Best Bets

There are some great matchups that could be playoff previews. Kansas City and Patrick Mahomes roll into Cincinnati to face the red-hot Bengals and Joe Burrow. Arizona will try to get back on track at Dallas, which is trying to catch Green Bay for the No. 1 seed in the NFC. The Packers, meanwhile, can use the Sunday Night Football spotlight to avenge a Week 11 loss to the Vikings. The Raiders need to win at Indianapolis to keep their hopes alive. The big question is whether Lamar Jackson will return for the Baltimore Ravens in time to save their season against the Rams? Monday Night Football is definitely an elimination game between the Browns and Steelers. It's a completely mixed bag that is full of tough games to pick. The championship run is almost here now with only two weeks left before the NFL Playoffs begin, and it’s promising to be an insane couple of weeks. For now, though, let’s turn our attention to the upcoming slate of games and what they could bring as the playoff picture comes into focus.
Las Vegas (8-7) at Indianapolis (9-6)
1 p.m. ET (Fox)
The Colts roster has been ravaged over the past week and that continued on Monday when they placed five more players on the NFL COVID-19 list. What has been confirmed is that the Colts likely won't have Darius Leonard and they likely will be missing several starters on the offensive line. However, that's canceled out by the fact that almost every Raiders linebacker has come down with COVID this week. This will be about who can work best with what they have available to them. The Colts found a way to win without four starters on the offensive line, and they have a chance to move up the pecking order in the AFC around MVP candidate Jonathan Taylor. The Raiders also have found a way to win the last two weeks with Derek Carr, and this feels like a spot where they could pull that off again with Colts starter Carson Wentz on the COVID-19 list. This could definitely be the surprise upset of the early games.
Pick: Raiders 28, Colts 27
Philadelphia Eagles (-4) at Washington Football Team
Sunday, 1 p.m., FOX
Although it has been a tough run, the Eagles won the last meeting between the teams 27-17 on Dec. 21, whereas on the other hand Washington is coming off its worst loss of the season. Washington could rise up and cause an upset at home, but that would be tough to pull off after watching their recent games.. Philadelphia has rolled up 184.3 rushing yards per game in its last three victories. Jordan Howard and perhaps Boston Scott will eat up ground yards against Washington. But if Hurts is throwing and running well, this game will be a blow-out.
Pick: Eagles 28, Washington 22
Kansas City Chiefs (-4.5) at Cincinnati Bengals
Sunday, 1 p.m., CBS
This is definitely this week's biggest matchup. The Bengals have an opportunity to win the AFC North title and secure their first playoff spot since 2015 against the Chiefs at home. This won't be a simple walk through the park though because Patrick Mahomes and Kansas City have regained their Super Bowl form with eight straight victories, and they’ve covered in the last six games. Mahomes and Joe Burrow will most definitely put on a show, but the Chiefs will clinch the W with a late TD.
Pick: Chiefs 31, Bengals 24
Miami Dolphins at Tennessee Titans (-3.5)
Sunday, 1 p.m., CBS
Surprisingly no one is really talking about the Dolphins this year, even though they're on the verge of pulling off one of the most improbable runs to the playoffs in NFL history. If the Dolphins win they will secure a spot in the playoffs, now earlier last month this didn't look possible and I believe that it was highly influenced by the trading window is open and some players like Tua who knew they were on the trading block. Once that was closed we saw Miami coming together very well and playing some string-running football. The Dolphins are one of the high momentum teams in the AFC, but they are going up against a Titans team that is 6-2 at home and this is Ryan Tannehill's first start against his former team. This will be a battle of tactics between the head coaches Mike Vrabel and Brian Flores, I see it going down to the last play with Tua Tagovailoa making a game-winning contribution.
Arizona Cardinals at Dallas Cowboys (-4.5)
Sunday, 4:25 p.m., FOX
The Arizona Cardinals have not had a great run this season, the pattern has continued over most games whether it be away or at home, this season has been tough. Kyler Murray is trying to get the Cardinals back on track, especially in the passing game, but definitely needs assistance. One may also remember Arizona winning 38-10 at Dallas last season, but Prescott wasn't on the field for that one, and he is definitely the determining factor in any game that he’s in. The Dallas Cowboys had everyone's jaw dropped with 56 points on San Francisco, and Dak Prescott has this team looking like one of the more legit Super Bowl contenders.
Pick: Cardinals 30, Cowboys 27
