The Wimbledon Tennis Championships are in full swing and the road to the finals has certainly not been a walk in the park for the tournament leaders. Some usual suspects here and there have maintained their standards high, and we’ve also had a fill of surprise performances to embrace too from young and fresh talent.

The next tie shapes up to be an interesting one. In the semi-finals of Wimbledon on Friday, July 8th, Novak Djokovic, the reigning champion and top seed takes on head-to-head the last Brit standing in the competition Cameron Norrie, ranked No. 12 and 9th seed player.

The last time Djokovic came this close to reaching the final was not so long ago, appearing at the French Open on May 31st, where Rafael Nadal terminated his chances in the quarter-finals losing 2-6, 6-4, 2-6, 6-7. The Serbian superstar was a favorite walking into this contender, the previous round meeting with Jannik Sinner was all there to prove. It became a game of two halves after he used his pedigree to overturn the deficit from 2 sets down.

Norrie on the other hand, comes into this encounter with the backing of his own country as the last Brit player competing, serving out of a hard-fought quarter-final match against David Goffin, settling over a 3-6 7-5 2-6 6-3 7-5 result.

The 26-year-old’s first-ever Grand Slam semi-final is honored as another pinnacle matching Andy Murray’s highest achievement here at the All England Club. The Welsh-lefty keeps the hopes up for the British as he challenges the championship DNA of Novak turning the balance against him, likelihood is that he’ll be down swinging.

The two players have previously matched in 2021 at the Nitto ATP finals where Djokovic set a flawless victory finishing straight sets 6-2, 6-1. In this anticipated semi-stage, Djokovic is favored (-1600) against Norrie (+720).

Let us hear it for these relentless acts, above and beyond the world No. 1 undoubtedly is aiming to defend his title once again to make it a total of 4 Championships.

It’s time to live the action come Friday, what remains to be accomplished on our side of the screens are palatable bets you can select from FanDuel. Ready to play?
