Casino History
Leelanau Sands Casino & Lodge, Turtle Creek Casino & Hotel, and Grand Traverse Resort and Spa are all owned and operated by the Grand Traverse Band of Ottawa and Chippewa Indians. They are a federally recognized Native American tribe in Northern Michigan.
In 1998 the tribal land base consisted of 450 acres of trust lands. This included additionally purchased tribal lands. The Grand Traverse Band the first tribal group to be federally recognized in 1980. The Grand Traverse Band was the 7th tribe to join the Inter-Tribal Council of Michigan.
Transportation
Turtle Creek Casino is located in Michigan's Traverse Bay area about ten miles northeast of Traverse City in Williamsburg, Michigan.
