Key Information About TVG Betting
Types of Horse Racing Bets at TVG.com
TVG.com prides itself on the fact that they offer such a wide variety of betting options that punters can find at actual racecourses, giving a player an experience as close to being at the track as possible while still being at home or on the road.
Their range of bets includes win, place and show, exacta, trifecta, superfecta, daily double, pick 3 and pick 5 bets. Read on to learn more about the types of bets you can place at TVG.com.
Win Bet
A Win Bet is generally the most straightforward bet a punter can make. All they have to do is predict which horse will win the race. It’s as simple as that.
Place Bet
Like a Win Bet, a Place Bet is when players attempt to pick a horse that places either 1st or 2nd.
Show Bet
A Show Bet has punters aiming to pick a horse that places 1st, 2nd, or 3rd. As with the other types of bets which offer a good chance of winning, the payouts are generally modest.
Exacta Bet
This type of bet is when the punter tries to predict which horse will place first and which horse places second. These types of bets typically have extremely high payouts as the player has to be exact in their predictions, hence the name.
Trifecta Bet
To win a Trifecta, punters have to predict which three horses will win 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place in the exact order (E.g. – Horse A will place 1st, Horse C will 2nd, and Horse B will be 3rd). As with any bet where punters have to predict the exact order horses in this way, the payouts can be surprisingly large.
Superfecta Bet
The Superfecta is identical to the Trifecta, except the player has to predict the exact order of the top four places.
Daily Double Bet
As one of the more challenging bet types, you need to predict the winner of not just one race but two. Needless to say, this can be VERY lucrative for the punter who manages to pull it off.
Pick 3 Bet
Bettors are required to choose the winners of three different races to win big.
Pick 5 Bet
And finally, the big daddy of all bets. A Pick 5 is where players have to predict the winners of five different races. Needless to say, the odds are pretty stacked against this player with this type of bet, but the payout can be life-changing big!
TVG’s Website
At first, the TVG.com website can look a bit intimidating. Especially for those new to online horse racing betting. However, once you get a bit of a handle on things and understand how it works, you will find the site highly informative and easy to navigate.
The first thing that you will notice is the column on the left, which lists a schedule of the day’s races, ensuring you will never miss a race. On the right-hand side are the various video tutorials (which can be a real godsend to the newcomer). These tutorials offer players several handy step-by-step how-to guides. Below the guides, you will find the day’s carryover pools, listing the tracks and carryover dollar figures. The center of the home page lists the featured tracks of the day, along with TVG’s top picks.
While there are far too many features to list and discuss, it is safe to say that the site caters to newcomers and experienced players alike and holds all the information and features you could ever need.
As with most horse racing sites these days, TVG.com has been optimized for mobile users so that players can access all the features of the desktop site while on their mobile phones or tablet.
TVG Features
Let’s start off by telling you that TVG.com is packed with all the bells and whistles for which features are offered, features that will be useful for beginners and experienced punters alike. As we mentioned earlier, there is an extensive tutorial library to help you get to grips with the ins and out of the site and online horse race betting as a whole. At the same time, more experienced punters will enjoy the free handicapping tool.
TVG.com brings over 150 tracks (covering North America, Dubai, Australia, Great Britain, China, Ireland, Japan, New Zealand, and South Africa) to your screen, so there’ll almost always be a race for you to bet on.
Their live video feeds of races mean that when it’s time for the race you can cheer your bet along. And when the race is over you’ll be able to watch it again and relive your victory or see just how close you came.
TVG.com also offers commentary, interviews, in-depth race analysis, and players can view up to 10 hours per month of video time for free. If you are an avid horse race punter, an additional 10 hours will only set you back $3 (that’s less than a cold pint at your local pub).
However, it’s not all good news as they do not have a chat feature. Most sites offer a player-to-player chat feature and real-time support team chat function; this is a major mark against this otherwise feature-packed site.
TVG Mobile App
While TVG does have an iOS app available from the App Store, they do not have an Android version (yet). Thankfully Android users can still access all of the features by using the mobile-optimized website.
That being said, the iOS app is one of the best horse racing apps out there today. Players can see and place bets, make deposits, and browse the various races. You can also stream live races and switch to full screen by turning your phone to a portrait view.
Another great feature in-app is the race alert that sends you a notification when one of the selected races is about to start, ensuring you never miss the action.
With TVG having such a great app, it’s truly a shame that Android users cannot participate. Let’s hope that changes soon!
How to Make a Deposit at TVG

-

-
PayNearMe (Deposit at the closest 7-11 with an added $3.99 fee)

TVG Customer Service
There are several modes available for players to contact the customer service team at TVG.com. However, TVG is missing a major feature that almost all of their competitors offer – a live chat service. This is a vital service for those times when a player has a problem just before a race and needs instant, live assistance. Their Twitter service does somewhat make up for the lack of chat and they respond quite quickly during peak times.
For less immediate problems, the support team can be emailed or contacted through a phone service. If a player needs help to do something on the site (e.g. – how to make deposits, use the handicapping tool) their tutorial library is quite extensive and helpful.
