What Makes WSOP Different From Casinos and Other Poker Sites?

WSOP is the best online casino for poker. It stands out from the competition by its:

• Poker-specialized gambling site

• Specialty app and software for desktop & mobile devices

• Monthly promotions for existing players

• Tournaments with prizes that include tickets to World Series of Poker events

I rated WSOP a 9.6 for its comparison because it’s really a one-of-a-kind online poker room. Since it offers such good promotions for existing players, I bumped up the score even more.

WSOP Hands-on Review

Overall I'm happy with WSOP’s user experience, though it was a little tedious to download software onto my laptop to begin playing. But once I had completed these steps, I found it was easy to find the games I wanted to play, and navigating the application was pretty easy.

For all these reasons, I awarded WSOP a 9.3 user experience rating.

Playing on Desktop

Unlike at other online poker sites, I had to download dedicated software to play at WSOP (I’ll explain this process later in the “How to Join WSOP Casino” section of this review.

It took a few minutes to download the software, install it, and launch the program. But after this process was complete, I was able to enter poker rooms practically instantly.

Because you’re using software instead of playing on a website, everything runs a little more smoothly than it would online.

The software’s navigation is easy to use and I could sort games using filters. When it was time to enter a poker room, I didn’t need to wait long for it to load.

My only complaint is that the user interface feels a little outdated – not entirely what you’d expect at such a big brand-name poker provider.

Making deposits and withdrawals was pretty easy, and I could check my balance in the cashier section at any time between games.

Playing on Mobile

If you want to play on a mobile device, you’ll need to download the WSOP app, which you can do in the Apple Store, Google Play Store, and Amazon Store; however, I recommend downloading it directly from the WSOP site, as there are a lot of copycat apps out there.

I found the mobile app interface to be much more enjoyable than the desktop version.

The only downside to the app is that you can’t have multiple games open as you can in the desktop version.

Is WSOP Casino Legit?

Based on my research, yes, WSOP is a legitimate poker site.

Until August 2024, WSOP was owned and operated by Caesars, but it was sold to NSUS, the iGaming operator that owns GGPoker.

It operates in Nevada, New Jersey, Michigan, and Pennsylvania, and is licensed by the gambling authorities in those states.

Signing up for a WSOP account takes a few extra steps because you’ll need to download software to play here.

Despite the longer startup time, I was still able to start playing in under 15 minutes.

For all these reasons, I gave WSOP a 9.6 cashier rating.

I was able to play either in practice mode just to try out a few games or for real money.

Quick seats are designed for novice players, as they offer lower stakes.

Once you’ve gotten your footing, feel free to increase the stake limits to open up more ring game options.

WSOP Review Conclusion

WSOP online is a great choice for players who love poker.

Although the initial account setup takes a bit longer here than on web-based casino sites, the mobile experience is well worth the additional time.

There’s a good first-deposit bonus that offers up to a 100% deposit match, plus up to $100 of Free Play and seven spins on the wheel.

You’ll have your selection of poker rooms, including tournaments, Sit & Go games, and more. It’s also easy to navigate the site and sort games into categories.
