Introduction
Jackpocket was founded in 2013 by Peter Sullivan to offer an app for lottery courier services in the U.S. In the many years since, Jackpocket has evolved and offers services in several states, with multiple lottery games available for purchase.
In 2024, DraftKings purchased Jackpocket and upgraded the platform, offering a more streamlined player experience.
Players deposit funds and purchase lottery tickets using the apps or the website.
Physical tickets are purchased for players and held in a safe until the drawing occurs. Any wins under $600 are added directly to your account. Larger wins require the business to bring the winner the physical ticket to claim the prize.
DraftKings also added the ability to purchase and play scratch tickets directly in the app in some states.
It also added players to the Dynasty Rewards program, allowing players to earn points with every lottery ticket purchase and climb tiers, earning rewards.
Jackpocket achieved a 9.5 overall score. Its highest scoring categories are its experience, games, and comparison categories.
What Makes Jackpocket Different From Other Lottery Sites?
There are two ways that Jackpocket is different from other online lottery sites: the online ticket purchase process and Smart Order. We found that Jackpocket stands out above the rest due to these unique features.
Mobile Lottery Tickets
Use the Jackpocket app to purchase mobile lottery tickets with games available in your state. The physical ticket is purchased and held for you until the drawing concludes. Prizes under $600 are awarded instantly. The amount depends on your location.
You can also scratch your scratch tickets right in the app!
Smart Order
With Smart Order, you can select a game and pick your numbers. Set the app to order your ticket as requested. This allows you to continue to purchase lottery tickets automatically.
For all these reasons, I awarded Jackpocket a 9.7 comparison score.
Jackpocket Hands-on Review
The Jackpocket player experience has really improved since DraftKings took over ownership of the company. I could just as easily play games on my laptop as I could on my mobile device (and there’s an app for both mobile and desktop gameplay).
Since Jackpocket offers tons of different types of lottery tickets, including scratch games, right in the app, and I could play on a browser as well as the app, I rated Jackpocket a 9.8 experience score.
Playing on Desktop
I was able to play lotter games on my laptop on either my browser or by downloading the desktop app in the Apple Store or Google Play Store. I found the desktop experience was equally good on both my browser and on the website.
The same types of lottery games were available for desktops and laptops as were available on mobile. Overall, the experience was relatively the same. The only difference between playing on a desktop and a mobile device was that with the latter, I could play lottery games on the go.
Playing on Mobile
The Jackpocket dedicated mobile app is available in the Apple Store for iOS and the Google Play Store for Android.
It scores a 4.7-star rating in the Apple Store and a 3-star rating in the Google Play Store.
The app makes it easy to purchase lottery tickets, including draw and scratch tickets (the latter is only available in select states). You can even scratch your scratch-off tickets right in the app!
The ability to scratch tickets right in the app is one benefit that sets Jackpocket apart from other lottery apps.
You can also cash out winnings up to $600 directly in the app itself.
Is Jackpocket Legit?
Jes, Jackpocket is a legitimate lottery site that is owned and operated by DraftKings, one of the biggest names in sports betting and online casinos. Jackpocket is headquartered in Boston, MA.
Jackpocket is available in a select number of states, many of which have no real-money online casinos available. If you like lottery and instant win games (and don’t want to drive to a store to buy them), lottery sites like Jackpot may be your best bet.

Banking Methods Breakdown
Jackpocket offers real money lottery ticket purchases. Deposit funds into your account to start buying lottery tickets. If you win, the money is added to your account if it is less than $600.
You can then remove it via available banking methods or use the funds to purchase more tickets. If you earn wins of $400 to $600 (depending on your state), Jackpocket will deliver the winning lottery ticket to you so you can claim the prize with a local lottery office.
Check out all your available banking options below. We list methods for deposits and withdrawals so you can easily add and remove funds. Remember that the banking methods and limits for prizes can vary based on your location.
Because Jackpocket offers plenty of deposit and withdrawal options, including two e-wallets and Apple Pay, it achieved a 9.5 “cashier” rating.

It’s also important to note that Jackpocket charges a small fee for every lottery ticket you purchase. The amount is determined by Jackpocket and not posted on its website, but other players have reported that the fee is around 14%.
Once you’ve purchased a ticket, you’ll receive an email confirmation.
